I'm very sorry to hear about your troubles! I have canceled your subscription, and I hope that your fortunes take another turn and you are able to come back soon.

Thanks,

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Sorry to hear it, Krome. I hope the situation is brief.

I am also soory to hear that Krome. Good luck with the job search. Job hunting is among my 10 least favorite things to do in life. My prayers will go out to you.

Paizo Employee Director of Sales

Wow... our customers are amazing!

Krome, I just got off the phone with another Paizonian who asked if they could help a fellow gamer out and get this month's subscription shipment for you. They also asked if I would throw a copy of Hungry are the Dead in as well. I am creating the order for your Pathfinder #15 and the module right now.

In order to preserve anonymity on both sides, you will not see this order in your order history, nor will you receive a confirmation email. However, it should go out with the rest of the Pathfinders this week.

It things like this that really make my day. :)

Liberty's Edge

Krome, bummer about the job situation - hope it all works out shortly.

And as for the anonymous community member - wow! Whoever you are, you are a very very cool person. I love this place.

Yah, and if the person who did this is Sam Weiss, I take back everything I said!

=)

Thank you Mr/Mrs. Anonymous for your generosity - makes me smile knowing people like you are out there. :D

Contributor

Dudes, this is awesome.

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

Very awesome!

Except for the laid off part. Sorry to hear about that. I got caught up in the good news and failed to offer sympathies for the bad news.

:D <mildly awed, like the others>
Good luck with the job hunting Krome.

Dark Archive Bella Sara Charter Superscriber

Classy.

Good luck job hunting, Krome.

Hey, Krome, we enjoy your posts, so don't be a stranger while you're job hunting.

And, Benefactor, thanks for reflecting well on the rest of us. I'm proud to be associated with you.

Wow - that anonymity thing makes it doubly classy.

Here's to the mysterious Paizonian! ! !

Wow, that's awesome on the anonymous benefactor.

Good Luck on quickly finding a new job Krome! :)

Sovereign Court

Sorry to hear about your job Krome, I hope you're back in business soon. And my hats off to the donor, very cool and just another reason why I love this site.

Krome, do you still make those dice trays? If so, I will have you make me one when I get paid in two weeks. It is not much, but every little bit helps.

You've got best wishes from this side of the Dales, Krome.

We've got a candle burning for you - good luck on the hunt, sir.

Paizo Employee Director of Brand Strategy

The depth and breadth of human generosity never ceases to amaze me. May you have as many benefactors (anonymous or otherwise) in the coming weeks as you search for employment, Krome. Best of luck.

Good huntin hombre, hope you find something nice and quick and to the mysterious benefactor - [raise my glass]... "nice touch and very classy indeed".

Really does back up that community feel that these boards and Paizo themselves have built up, and is a great gesture in these dark economic times.

Good luck, Krome. We're all pulling for you, as we will for any other Paizoans affected by these troubling financial times.

Scarab Sages

Sorry to hear about your situation Krome, good luck to you!
And a big thanks you for Mr. Anonymous Maizonian for showing how awesome this community can be!

Tell everyone what your job was, and what you want to do now. Networking helps, and this is a network.

HOLY SMOKE GUYS!

You actually brought tears to my eyes! I don't know what to say!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be an interesting time ahead for sure. After 15 years as a photographer I changed careers last year. Then into this job only a few months I get laid off. Looking to go back to school but darn it is expensive. And I will need to move away from home for two years if I do so.

Again THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

lol yes we still do

Thank you so darn much! BTW you will LOVE the dice trays. Every year they get better and better and the quality is really great. There is a little bit of blood sweat and tears in every tray. OK maybe not literally, but plenty of sweat and occasional cussing :) Yes these trays are actually hand made. :)

So how much are the dice trays and what are they set up like.

I have been a photographer for 15 years. Mostly weddings. The downturn in the economy was coming and technology was putting cameras in every one's hands so we have a plethora of "photographers" in the area. It was time to quit.

I have been working temp jobs for a while now. Never finding anything that will pan out for long. Anything that does pan out pays almost minimum wage. The last job I had was an office job at a university. Position got cut. Though I heard yesterday they are combining it with another position and have already hired someone in for it.

So, I figure I need to go back to school for an updated education. Been almost 20 years since I was in college. Hoping to go to school for Respiratory Therapy. If so, I will have to move away from home for TWO YEARS! That will be hard.

The last two years have been a nightmare. My wife was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2006, and is doing great now. My dad passed away from cancer in 2007. I have been struggling with work in 2008.

But you know what. 2008 is the year someone nice did a great thing and I won't ever forget it.

The Paizo community ROCKS!

I love you guys!

You can check them out by clicking on Krome's avatar and using the link in his page.

They cost between $20 to $40, according to the wood and ornaments.
I was considering getting one myself, and didn't yet, just because of the Paypal payment only option.

Krome, can I send you a check for one of the dice trays? I do have a Paypal account, but I like using checks more. ~grins~ You get the check and deposit it and then say "Sharoth who? I don't know anyone by that name." ~GRINS~

Edit - I may get more than one as Christmas presents for some gamer friends of mine. However I come first. Darn greedy dragons! ~GRINS~

Dark Archive

Sorry to hear about your circumstances Khrome. I hope things look up for you soon, and I hope you stick around the boards and continue to liven things up. How is the elf calendar going?

For anyone who's on the fence about Krome's dice trays, my wife got me one for my birthday last year and they are absolutely awesome! I love mine and use it all the time. I highly recomend them.

Also, best of luck, Krome.

Scarab Sages

Buying one of these awesome dice trays. Any chance of a small wood-burned engraving on the bottom, Krome? :D For a lady-friend. I'd be willing to pay extra for it, of course.

Those look pretty cool. I will have to see if I can manage it sometime.

wow heavens!

http://dwarvensweatshoppe.com/

We can do some custom wood burning. You'll want to send an email through the site. Some things we can do. Some we can't. Sometimes we have to send send it out for laser engraving (of the image is really detailed), but that is expensive and takes quite a while.

Also, if you would rather pay by check, again send a note by email.

Thanks so much guys!

~grins~ I just realized that it comes directly out of my checking account anyway through PayPal. I have already planned what I want and come next Friday (10-31-2008), I shall place the order. Mine will be an 8 sided one. Thanks ahead of time for the most excelent work that you will put into it.

P.S. - How do I add the tip for the good work done?

Liberty's Edge

Krome, good luck with your job hunting. May you find something soon. Also, I love your work. Those are impressive trays.

Kudos, to your Benefactor. Thanks for the renewal of my faith in human kindness.

Silver Crusade

Damn dude. Condolences and good luck!

As for the mysterious masked hero, you rock. Hard.

Krome, just watch out and make sure that Sebastian does not send you any Bella Sara cards. That is not the kind of help you need! ~grins and runs~

P.S. - Here is a very useful tip. Do not moon a Dragon when you are within their breath weapon's range! ~GRINS~

Sorry to hear of your 'late unpleasantness' Krome. Here's to things getting better!

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that Krome, I hope your fortunes turn around soon.

Repurpose your photography skill. Make a niche. Study long distance. Make a job of finding a job.

Just some advice. I hope it doesn't come off as condescending. I know things are never that easy, but I also know that it is an opportunity to reinvent yourself, and find something meaningful to do.

Just so everybody's on the same page, we currently have offers through Pathfinder #18 and a potential offer for Pathfinder #19.

P.S. You guys rock.

Potential offer for #20 if #19 is in fact already claimed.

Update:

We have confirmed offers up through Pathfinder #21.

Thanks for the update, Alison.
