Some of my best friends play 4e ...

4th Edition

Okay, well, that is not strictly true. I don't have all that many friends. But if I did, and if they played 4e, I wouldn't insult them.

On another thread it was said that Paizo has become an unfriendly place for players of 4e. I hope that isn't true, but in case it has, I'd like to ask all Paizonians ... or, at least the important ones ... in taking the pledge below:

I pledge not to attack you for your choice in editions or, for that matter, role-playing games. If I criticize your game, it is not a criticism of you. If I criticize you, it is for things you have done and said, not because of the game you play. Unless you play Hero System. Or are a poodle. Or both.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, okay.

No more troll poop talk. I'll just close the section again.

I pledge...

I join in this bipartisan effort to heal the rift between our factions. We have suffered enough divison in this recent unpleasantness. Now comes the time for healing.

I also pledge to do my utmost to smurf/joke/poodle up any thread that begins to veer into the perilous land of Edition Debate. I also call shenanigans on those who should know better and urge them to air their complaints in a more civilized fashion. I also urge our 4e bretheren to ignore the obvious trolls and just let some of the insults slide. Reacting just ratchets up the vitriol. Also, please don't take a criticism of WotC or the 4e as a personal attack. I promise I will not take any criticisms of Pathfinder personally in return.

Lets all play nice together.

Not sure I count as important but I agree completely with an end to 4E flaming. I have been staying clear of 4E forums for ages but it seems this might be seen as silently concenting to the flames.

That 'important' part was just me being funny. Thank you for taking the pledge.

Your welcome, thanks for taking a positive stand.

Scarab Sages

My own deluded self-importance suggests I qualify, therefore "I Pledge".

Although, I have to admit, I really haven't said anything about editions in some time.

I pledge allegiance, to the poodle, and the United Court Fools of America... um... sorry wrong thread.

I pledge not to fling the poo of which thou speaketh.

The Exchange

The flames have kept me warm and given me good models for trashing peers at work as we compete for resources in the current death spiral that is our economy.

Heh, in real (non-internet) life, I'm actually the opposite I have a friend who does play 4e (he's a registered rpga gm), but I insult him about the fact every now and again. In jest of course.

Of course real life is different to the internet (in oh so many ways), in this case, I can playfully wind up my friend to his face and he knows it's just good natured teasing (and he hits back in kind with the 'grognard' ripostes), but if I said the same things in an online forum 4e-likers would probably come after me with hired assassins. ;-)
