I thought it was the least funny of the cartoons so far. I'm not even sure of it was suppose to be humorous, it was so flat.
But, I do appreciate seeing the fanboys get reduced to fawning, easy-to-kill toadies, the haters get buried under a mountain of dragon dung.

I would, but I'm not going to waste the time retreading old news. If you want you can start with the podcasts and work your way through all the various media material.
While I adhere to the "if you can't supply the source your observation is not correct" I don't think this thread, or this discussion, warrants my wasting any more time on it than I have.
Sorry if that comes across harsh, but I don't consider the 4E Rocks / 4E Sucks debate worth continuing. I play BOTH 4E and Pathfinder. I'm just not amused by WotC's continued moronic approach to business any more - they're so sure that the D&D brand is so powerful ... Meh. Enough said. Enjoy your night.

I'd be interested to discover if any Hasbro shareholders out there consider this latest cartoon was money well invested?
Yes, they could probably spend the money they did on those on improving the quality of their products, and I dunno ... write a decent adventure for a change ?
The ones I recently read (for 3.5 admittedly) have been severely lacking on several aspects.

How will a Dragon with such a large and long digestive tract be able to use this poop attack as an encounter power?
Nah, that clearly is a daily.
On the other hand, if it uses a strong laxative as an implement the dragon might be able to use it as an encounter power!
There might even be an extra racial feat that makes it a poop burst attack!

Assurances that you have evidence, but can't be bothered to provide it are equivalent to a lack of evidence. But you already know that, or you wouldn't have bothered posting your long-winded explanation of why you're being brief.
Come to think of it....why *DID* you bother to come back and post if it is such a waste of your time?

DaveMage wrote:Remember when they told us to go watch the clouds if we didn't like the new edition?!?!no
Me either. I do, however, remember a cloud watching analogy being made about how those complaining about aspects of the new system with insignificant contextual information were wasting their time. But that won't stop people here from claiming they were told to "go watch the clouds if we didn't like the new edition."
Unfortunately, the 4E hate on Paizo's board is at an all time high. As much as I'd dared to hope that things would calm down and this would become the great place it used to be (and apparently still is; as long as you don't want to talk about 4E sans thread craps). But it just hasn't happened. In fact, the only reason I'm still here at all is because I'm waiting to see the new GSL (assuming there still will *be* a new GSL in light of recent events) before I throw my support behind WoTC. If they drop the ball on the GSL a second time, I'm probably done with RPGs for the time being. Paizo isn't making the products I want, and I can't in good conscience support those who *are* unless they act with some integrity.
Yuck.

Dude - their eyes glow. That so totally rocks.
Besides, I still hate Ewoks.
Agreed on both counts.

I was so amused that I watched it multiple times. As a matter of fact, I am going to watch it again in typical kobold fashion (see fanboy reference). The troll is the best part of the entire cartoon and the orphanage but as someone said before it should have been a GNOME orphanage to make it more iconic to the current "travesty" that is the lost of the gnome in the PHB.

I think it would be awesome if someone decided to create an interview-inspired group of kobold dragon-worshipers to fill out their next dragon lair.

I have not read this but have seen the vid..yet another dumb move on wotc's part instead of trying to get me to give it a try they call everyone not worshiping them and saying negative things trolls and s&!% on them. not fuuny and bad PR.
Watch it again. Now ask yourself, are you a troll purposefully polluting someone else's forums with nonsense that can only be called criticism in the loosest sense of the word? If not, they're not making fun of you.

Yeah, but really, why make fun of anyone. Just seems petty to me.

Hoo boy another thread on this! Well, in the interest of being redundant and flagellating the corpses of equines I will give you my advice on dealing with your hurt feelings:
1) Email whoever deals with customer service over there in WotC land. State that you are mortally offended by this video and you plan to never buy any of their products again.
2) Actually follow through with this threat.
3) Have a nice cup of Mountain Dew to reward yourself for actually impacting WotC in a fashion they care about.

Or travel to Seattle and fling poo at the WotC offices.

Meh. All that would accomplish is pissing off the folks that have to scrub the building. They have to do it anyway, why make more work for them? No one involved with the video will be down with a scrub brush. Kick 'em in their wallet sez I.

It starts with the humour. Soon we'll be having him drink tea without ice and putting 'u's back into words like 'colour'.

Certainly, old chap. Glad to oblige. Perhaps a game of cricket afterwards? ;-)

It is not a question of it being funny or not. It is a question of a marketing piece so overtly mocking its customers, be they critics or supporters. It is not even good-natured humor.
I think Sam is dead-on here.
They've further pissed off a segment of their market, with no conceivable benefit for themselves. Either they did it knowingly or they did it unwittingly -- either scenario makes them out to be idiots.
A competent staff would be trying to make nice with customers, not the opposite.

It depends whether annoying one segment of a market can be done to ingratiate them with a much bigger segment, and persuade that segment that these are guys they want to hang out with and to spend their money on their products.
I don't know if that actually works as a marketing strategy, but it's conceivable that it might do, at least short-term.
