Ghost Touch would be rather redundant on a pair of bracers unless you are incorporeal. Bracers of armor, as mage armor, already confer their armor bonus against incorporeal touch attacks.
Its mostly of interest for monkish character who, be this change of rules, get the option to things like energy resistance or skill bonuses.36k gp might not be a bad deal for immunity to criticals, but it also blocks the bracers slot.

Like others have said, it ties up the bracers slot, so I don't think it that bad.
Energy resistance is not possible, though - it costs extra money and not a +x bonus...
