Everybody wants to be the good guys. Andoran is pretty unambiguously the good guys. Therefore, it would follow that most players would play for Andoran, which means that Andoran is going to get a lot of traction in the world. If this is your aim, hey, that's fine. I think Andoran's ideology could use some spreading, but aren't they supposed to be the underdog, here?

Actually... Andoran's not the only good guy on the list. In fact, Cheliax is the only faction that's really one you can call "evil." The factions are different enough that I suspect they'll all get a fair amount of attention.
I know that if I were playing in it, Andoran would be my last choice, in any case...

Its almost compulsive for me- I'll play the underdog. If that's Cheliax, then its door to door I go. "Excuse me, have you made your deal with the Nine Hells yet? Do you really want to wait till the last minute? Or can I offer you a seat at the table? Its better to be part of the movement than to be part of the pavement. Act now."

I'd strongly lean towards Andoran precisely because they're good -- but as it's likely as hell freezing over that there'll be any Pathfinder Society events in Austria, anyway, I'm afraid that won't be relevant in any way whatsoever...

I've got to wait to see what the fourth faction is before I can decide, because right now, I can't see myself working with William Wallace, Faust, or Brendan Fraser in The Mummy. Maybe there'll be a Mammoth Lord faction, or a Geb faction, or Numerians, or, dare I hope, Vudra?
I believe that there are actually FIVE factions, so it might be a bit premature to pick one right now! :) Oh, and all the factions will be from countries with close proximity to Absalom, so Mammoth lords and Geb are right out for now!

Will being "factionless" be an option for characters or will choosing a faction be necessary? (I'm sure that it would be more beneficial and immersive for a character to belong to one of the factions, but I can see folks wanting to play truely mercenary characters or waiting to suss out which faction they support until their character has had a chance to see them in play.)
That said, I think I'm going to go with a halfling slave supporting Cheliax.

Emphasis on the 'for now'? ;)
Again my guesses are Taldor and either Qadira or Thuvia. Thuvia is kind of small so more likely Qadira.
I think I'm siding either with Taldor or Cheliax not sure yet.

You must choose a faction at character creation.

Dude, that would be the bomb!
You should do it Kruel! Get the Zhong Hua Min Zu in on the action!
Qadira would go over well in Xinjiang!

Yeah, mine too. If I wanted to participate in chest-beating and "freedom" pep rallies, I'd just revisit the Dubya era.

And it's got nothing to do with you being a foul thread necromancer whose blight upon the face of the world belongs with the devil-kissing slaver scum of Cheliax rather than the brave few who have thrown off their shackles and dedicated themselves to freedom, I'm sure. ;-)

Cheliax is king in the DC Metro area from what I can see. Must be all the repressed angst from other living campaigns.
I picked Osirion for the PC that I rarely play. He worships Desna though, the Dream Goddess of the North! *plays Sitar music, accented with cymbals, followed by soft horns, and enters a dream sequence*
Peace,

Pffft. ;p Thread necromancer I may be. Chellish, no. I'd pick either Qadira or Osirion.

Alternatively they are so bored of looking at the NG aligned politicians they want to see something different. Which is true, we don't know.
