Iconic's Backstories

Alpha Playtest Feedback General Discussion

I feel Paizo has done a great job with the Iconic characters. They have taken unconventional ideas and created vivid and living adventurers out of them. That said, i would like to see a supplement/PDF with the stories all grouped together. Wouldn't have to be long, a couple pages to each character or something. But would be nice to read the history of all the Iconics all in one convenient place. Have all of them at our fingertips, their back stories and personality quirks. With the work that Paizo has put into them, I think this would be an awesome resource for DMs who wanted to use them as NPCs and it would make for great reading. And if someone wanted to play them as pre-made characters, it would give you all the details you could need. If it was 2-3 pages each, that would make it 26 - 39 pages. I think this would be really cool. Anyone else?

I would Download it

I think this would be a great idea! I'd download it. I'd also pay for it.

It is all of Paizo's blogs ever since Pathfinder was announced. Just photograph the appropiate spot on the pdf and you will have the background on the icons (although Valeros does get shafted by James Sutter, only 2 sentences).

If this doesn't look good to you, you could always look at all the blog entries and do a copy and paste like I did (no I do not have it on this computer; besides, it is probably too big even for a spoiler).

Well...over each adventure path we're generally seeing their stat progressions at (roughly) 4-5 level intervals. If I was going to pay for it I would like to see level progressions (1st, 4th, 7th, etc) for each iconic.

Basically an all-in-one of the stat blocks that are printed in the back of each AP or module.

Because I'm greedy.

I'd been slowly combing the Iconic stat blocks into a PDF myself

I also combined the adventure paths adventures, bestiaries, locales, and god articles from RotRL and made each into their own PDFs. :)

Yeah, i know i could do something like this. But what i thought would be really cool is if Paizo flushed them out. Sure we have blog entries which give us a short description, but i was hoping for more than just a paragraph (cause we have that in the pathfinder adventure paths) and the a few get shafted (like Valeros) in the blogs. I would like to see fully flushed out character bios, backgrounds, motivations. Alot like the ecologies, but dealing with each Iconic and their lives.

Lol.. while I'm sure the Paizoian could care less about what I do with the PDFs for my own use, how I did it, and what I removed to do it, I don't think they'd appreciate me distributing the PDFs.. not to mention they know where I live.

For those interested..

There are..

3 different level 1 versions of the original 4.
2 different level 6, 7, and 8 versions of the original 4.

Skills vary as well as some feats.

There's also 1 mix party. ;)

aye - the blogs are open though, so the histories and pictures from there are fair game... I may make a quick PDF of just the histories and some pictures later.... I'll get it worked on this weekend and when we get the history for the multi-classed I'll finish it.

Here's an idea for Alpha 3/Beta. Include at least the 1st level write-ups of the iconics (or even better 1st, 5th, 10th, and 15th) as "official playtest pre-gens".

I mean...c'mon, it just makes sense.
