I have a question about OGL, and the PHB - DMG.
Does Paizo have the right to rules for character creations and character evolution (xp system and so on).
Will paizo build a PHB / DMG for Pathfinder in that way ?
Pathfinder seems to be a good solution for those who want to stay with 3.5. But a RPG must have it's own rules ( PHB DMG creation evolution ) to exist, and 3.5's rules will not be editate anymore ...
They do not have the rights to any of that. thats why the new xp tables which I like way better anyhow.they cant use point buy as is ..as for any d6 method well that is just simple logic ability's rang 3-18.
It wouldn't be that hard to make their own though. I know the Spycraft 2.0 system has it's own point buy system. I'd suspect that once the alpha is done, we'll see a complete system (including everything pertinent for character creation and advancement) in the beta rules.
To retirate what has already been said a few times...there are no "rights" to the XP progression table, because it's a system based on very simple math. XP(next level) = Sum(last levels)x1000. Example: For 6th level, you need Sum(5+4+3+2+1)x1000 = 15000 XP.
This mathematic formula cannot be copyrighted. The only thing that CAN be protected is the presentation and layout. So all Paizo would have to do is create their own design around the progression table, and voila. Instant XP progression table. Covered under the OGL.
If you check any of the "core books" for an OGL game (with an OGL logo, as opposed to a D20 logo), you will see that they all include their own character creation and XP progression rules that are a "copy" of the 3.5 rules because those are all based on extremely simple math.

so we can propose creations system different from the DMG, and it can be OGL. Example, 4+4d4, forget the weak.
