I understand what people were trying to do with creating a combat feat chain for improvised weapons, but this is definitely a bridge too far. Improvised weapons should not be able to outperform actual, real, honest-to-goodness weapons, even with the use of your combat feat for the round. While it's very clear that this is a fairly opinionated post, I find it thematically silly that someone should be able to use a frying pan to fight off some maniac with greataxe. I would ask Paizo that they tone down the improvised weapon line in the next version.

I actually like the feat as it fits quite well with swashbuckling, some martial arts movies, riddick and also biblical heroes like samson. It might seem silly if you imagine frying pans, but defeating an entire army using only a donkey's jawbone is kind of awesome.

I posted this in another thread on this, but I have a goliath in my campaign that wanted to walk around without weapons so that he could improvise in any given situation. In character, he doesn't want to look like too much of a threat, so he doesn't carry a weapon. Also, as a goliath, he likes to challenge himself, and where's the challenge in killing something with a greataxe?
Divorced of any mechanics, this is what happened:
The goliath is in a room, across a table from a wizard that had just surprised the party and nearly killed the bard with an acid spell. The goliath rammed into the table and pinned the wizard to the wall, then lifted it up and slammed it into the wizard, killing him.
When a skeletal unholy warrior arrived outside of the building, the goliath grabbed two wooden chairs, and charged the unholy warrior. He slammed the warrior with one chair, the bard woke up long enough to cast grease on the warrior, the goliath slammed him again with another chair, and the paladin arrived just after this to deliver the final blow, via a smite with her longsword.
None of this felt silly at all. In fact, it felt pretty cinematic and dynamic. Its been one of the most memorable combat encounters of the campaign so far.
Now, mechanically, the goliath could have been just as effective if he carried a large club or greatclub, and those cost almost no money at all. A club or greatclub is a large, heavy piece of wood. The main problem with tables, chairs, and the like is that they aren't balanced well, but they are still large, heavy object, that, if someone wanted to hurt you with them, they could.
Spending, in the example of Razor Sharp Chair leg, two feats, and not being able to do so until you have a BAB of +8 means that its a pretty well trained and practiced warrior that is pulling off this particular trick. It doesn't bother me one bit at all, and I'm glad that these feats are there to help encourage players that want to come up with ideas like my goliath player has come up with.

lol...
"I study the ancient art of Razor Sharp Chair Leg"
"Ahhhh.... now your skill with such improvised weapons makes sense. Your Chair Leg-fu is quite... impressive. Let us drink tea and talk of things not relating to combat. Servants, summon that useless twit, the Bard, that he may inspire us to more greatly enjoy our tea."

Either way the name is pretty silly.
As is someone with a table. Until you realize that he does 2d6/18-20/x3. The feat might certainly be called "Improved Improvised Weapon Fighting" but that would do the sheer awesomeness of the effect justice. Razor sharp chair leg is way more fun.

Holy duplicate threads, Batman!
Most of this has been discussed previously.
Yeah, that's part of why I posted my general concern thread, since I worried that there are going to be so many scattershot posts that its hard for anyone to respond to them, or to keep track of where people's heads are at, unless we make a more concerted effort to look for existing threads that already have some comments going.

One of my favorite comic shorts featured a master galactic assassin called Monsieur Death, who could turn any found object into a lethal weapon, all with a huge french accent;
Aha! take zome toothbrush!
Erk!
Eeet rolled op Noosepaper!!
ARRRGH!
So yes, razor sharp chair leg is just perfect for Pathfinder- it will give joy to many and make for memorable game play, which is the point of the whole exercise.
