a DC 20 save is pretty hard
LOL<
I dont know why for some reason I expected Karrin to just shrug it off and ask everyone else "What are you all standing around for?";P
At least we still have a chance of 'acting normally' each round.
:)
(Which, admittedly, for THIS group is still pretty crazy!) ;)

OK. Guys, a little meta here. I thought if I depowered the Shoggoth it would be a fun encounter. I thought wrong. We are dealing with several MIAs, and I have to DMPC Alessia for a bit as David has some RL stuff to deal with ATM. I'm going to think on this, because I don't want a TPK because of some bad rolls and my misplaced faith that you would rip this creature apart ...
I'll be back ....
Ragadolf
Hey no worries,
MIA's we deal with all the time,
And I mean, to be fair, if you give us an encounter measured in Hit points/dice alone, we will usually make hamburger out if in a few rounds, tops. :)
(I DO like being mid-levels!) :D
I have faith that you will work it out.
OR that we will once again surprise you (and us!) by the sheer amount of random damage we can inflict, often without even trying. ;P
(I do miss Issac's wisdom at these dramatic moments) ;P

OK. Thanks for the assist on coming up with a decent deus ex machina to extricate the narrative from destruction.
Sorry folks, that was my fault. I usually don’t like to use such heavy-handed tactics, but in this case between my miscalculations and the missing party members, I felt it was the best option without a TPK which would likely end the game.
Ragadolf
LOL,
I love it.
Well, not LOVE it exactly, but reminds me of some vaguely-remembered game sessions back in the day when we (party members) all essentially ended up fighting each other, due to monster-shenanigans.
This is the same group of players were we once faced a TPK, (very unusual for us due to our group and play style) but we were all, including the GM,
having so much fun with it that after meticulously planning out our next round so that we might actually survive, (IF every went well and the dice didnt hate us!) realized that we had planned (and talked) for at least an hour and half between rounds.
O_o
Man I do miss the days,...
;P

Its posts like Karrin's last post that cement the fact that this campaign should never end up dying. :-)

Guys, sorry for my absence. When I got back from Visiting Treppa my puppy became deathly ill. I’ve been shuttling him back and forth from the vets this week to try and figure out what’s wrong. He’s at the vets now. Sadly, I am beginning to think this might be it for my baby. Please keep him and me in your thoughts. I will continue posting soon

Protection from Evil vs Confusion

Oh I am so sorry to hear that Pat. I understand how much the puppers means to you.
Well-wishes and prayers for you and the pup,

I ran 3.5 to 37th level once, that was crazy stuff. No time to prep for games like that anymore.

You’d be eating shoggoths for breakfast at those levels

Hi guys,
Some sad news. My pup lost his battle yesterday. I had to take him into be put to sleep. I will resume posting fairly soon.
Hi Pat, very sorry to hear that :-(
My pup up and died right in front of me in the backyard a year and half ago, I knew he was on his way out but it may have been one of the most horrible things I've had to witness with my own two eyes. (Never been in combat so I'm sure I would have seen worse had I served).
Take the time you need.

I'm so sorry to hear that Patrick,
Dogs are major parts of our lives, they're family, and after losing my father a few months back, I can tell you you need to take a little time off. Please don't rush back into this game too soon. We'll be here when you get back.

My sincere condolences. The memory of losing my long-time four-footed friends is,...

Hi folks,
I am slowly getting to the point where my grief and depression are getting to manageable levels. I am currently in work apocalypse mode as various lawyers prep to file cases prior to the holidays. I’m also involved with several tangential issues that are sucking up my oxygen ATM. Keep an eye out, I will be working on restarting stuff

Looking over the thread (I’m ashamed to say this shopping trip has been going on for a year real time) I see that one thing we meant to do was craft some magical bullets from some arrows y’all looted. I’m amenable to handwaiving this part, if you want to make one bullet per arrow, at 50% of normal cost. Also, if you want to buy anything else we can list it here and I can do a quick montage and we can get the game back on track towards Rhiannon’s funeral and Erelhi-Cinlu
Ragadolf
LOL,
Yeah, this shopping trip is starting to resemble some of my Christmas shopping trips I've had to do,...
O_o
;P
I have written down (Somewhere) the shopping list of items that Justin was going to buy (Full array of cracked/cheap Ioun stones, etc etc) I'll find it and post it here for you.
(IIRC I had a couple of questions about items that Justin can craft himself, reducing the cost, if we have enough 'down time' for that?)
FYI, just found out that part of my family (My sisters family) will be taking a trip when we go to visit my family for Christmas, so they are coming HERE for a brief Pre-Thanksgiving visit, otherwise we wont get to see them at all for the holidays.
SO,... If I vanish for a couple of days, please forgive me. I will return shortly! :)
Patrick Curtin
No worries. We can discuss what you want to do, and we can write a quick cut scene before y'all leave Sigil for Erelhi-Cinlu. Take a look about and see what you want to get accomplished. The timeline I see is this:
*Shop/write out characters that have faded
*Rhiannon's funeral
*An 'in game' week of individual scenes to cover any things (like crafting) that need doing. This we can discuss here and I will just do a handwaivy paragraph for each character that wants one.
*Rendezvous with Lissandra and head to Erelhi-Cinlu.
I'd like to start 2020 heading to Erelhi-Cinlu, so we can move forward from there.

Anyone have any chores or wants make them known now
Hamar just wants lunch :-)
Oh and something to resist confusion, he didn't like that too much...
Storyteller Shadow
So...it's been a year. How hard to catch up?
Edit: Oh! I've been listening to something about a mind reader, then we were attacked and I got confused and was in a coma. Cool, not too much to catch up on! :D
We've been pretty slow so probably not very :-)
