LOL, and yet cursed to be the first one to enter into harms reach if he possibly can!
:)
Sorry for any (brief) absence, My illness is 'merely' a cold, but one I need meds to help kick apparently. (I DO already feel better) And my wife is still recovering.
AND of course, WORK is about to jump back into full swing,...
;P
JUST letting you know, it may be a new year, but it's gonna start a lot like my old one did. :(
Happy New Year all!

Atop the dais is a bizarre statue. The statue depicts a squatting batrachian bat creature, with a fanged maw.
This description inspired me to Google images for "frogbat." I was not disappointed.

Justin opens another door. This one holds an ordinary-looking man. He is dressed much like Mr Swire, in a shapeless tunic and pants. He begins to babble in a Cager-accented Planar Common
“Oh thank you sir! Thank you!”
He looks to be in better condition than most others, in fact he is rather well-fed and looks as if he lives a soft life. His hair, though mussed, is cut expertly, and his skin is smooth and scar free

Since starting this encounter I’ve had this song running in my head
THAT must hurt! (Cuz its really hard metal and loud,... ) ;P
Interesting, I like that when I pulled it up the side 'view these' were all bowling for soup songs.
(Whom I just discovered on New Years Eve. I dont get out much. So sue me.) ;P

And perception checks! Pools of black liquid in a dungeon are inherently suspect! I mean, you scoped out the plump merchant you rescued like he was a mimic looking to bite you over in the sidequest thread, but sauntered right up to the Lovecraftian wading pool with your sample kit out whistling a merry tune. I mean, you just shouldn’t make it that easy for me :D

True.
(Very, VERY true.)Buuut, I have ta let you have SOME fun! ;P
(Yep. THAT'S my story, and I'm sticking to it! The player is not an idiot. Nope. Not it at all!) >_<

Hey, question from a player who wishes he was as smart as his wizard character.
IIRC, the Teleport spell gives you a much (MUCH) better chance of getting to someplace you cannot see if you are familiar with it.
In lots of stories, and games, areas the wizard wants to become familiar with can also be done through other means, scrying, etc. Special markings are also used.
Just wondering IF its worth the risk of trying to use the symbol sketch we have to try and teleport directly to the spot its at?
I, we might end up CLOSE to it at least, Which is good.
But I'd hate to fail and end up IN one of the locked cells (or worse) if it fails! ;P
I'm having 'magic' thoughts. Thought I'd ask. :)

Hamar of the Hyena Tribe |

That was pretty awesome, it's like some sort of play doh ooze factory and we went through it!

The visual in my head was pretty epic. I had this in my head for Hamar’s post-ooze grin.

Please bear with me, I haven't had time to post this week. Here's a partial explanation.

See my answer in the main thread. Short answer - no shortcuts
ROFL, I kinda figured. Just curious, mainly.
Even if it WAS going to work, it would probably have to be sigil/symbol that the wiz made himself, (Or had at least scryed) meaning he was THERE and ergo 'familiar' with the place. :)

Ugh, yeah.
While living in Louisiana, I DO miss having actual seasons and variable weather from Oklahoma.BUUUUT, I dont miss THOSE. At all. :)
And yeah, sometimes the level of insanity that happens DURING a snow-pocalypse is mind-boggling.
Especially if you just went through it the year before.
"How short is your memory?!?"

This format is the only way I have found to consistently get around my writers block. I enjoy writing, but I have a hard time putting a whole story on paper. Dave got me to do my last one I managed (a creepy story about a girl discovering her disturbing family legacy)
Finally got caught back up on sleep, now I'm trying to catch up on all of my missed correspondence. I've been thinking about some things regarding writing and play-by-posts:
1. I've got an odd idea or two floating around in my head regarding Silver Rose (as well as Bloodlines & Black Magic)--would it be alright if I sent you a message, either here or over on the Matrix?
2. If you ever want to collaborate on something again, let me know. I've been dealing with some severe (music-related) writer's block myself since moving to Iowa, and I feel like I should be doing something creative since my art career performed an unplanned lithobraking maneuver a few years ago.
Also, I'm still processing how Alessia would respond over here, so please bear with me (have I mentioned she's hard to write outside of combat?). I will do my damnedest to wrap things up soon.

Ragadolf |

Yes. Writers block suckseth.
I manage by NOT relying on creative writing for my day job.
This way, when my writing stinks, I don't get fired.
I just get (rightfully) ribbed by you guys! :)
And for Alessia. I thought that her characterizations in the side thread, searching and opening the cells, has been great!
"WE should kill it" is now her catch-phrase in my head-canon.
When I get to this scene in Justin's memoirs', (FINALLY. Hopefully before I die. Speaking of 'writers block', ...), I may have her say that EVERY time a cell is opened. :)
(I think it would have been spectacularly hysterical if Alessia had said that when we opened Swire's cell. JUST for the Rose's various reactions alone.)
:D
