Computer Assistance for Pathfinder

Alpha Release 1 General Discussion

Pathfinder is a great idea et we've tested some of the game mechanics this very afternoon. Works great.

Here's the point:
Etools was a great tool to use with the new 3.0 and 3.5 rules. Now it's over.
Is there something cooking similar to Etools for Pathfinder or best a Pathfinder edition? Some help to design a character and especially a powerful NPC is always truly appreciated.

Wish you the best, Jason.

Although I would love to see Pathfinder computer assisted support. Especially in the form of a character creator/monster generator, you can easily adapt the Pathfinder alpha adjustments into some computer suite programs. Such as DMgenie, I have it and you can easily adapt the rules into it. Also, I think metacreator is easy enough to do the same thing. Of course, if game mastery/adventure paths/pathfinder society adventures were made with such suites as DMgenie. Wow! that would be outstanding and for those who have the program..... an immense time saver!

I'm debating working up some PCGen .lst files for it.

Seems to me that RPG Explorer (I think that is what it is called) has been doing the Rise of the Runelords. It would not be that tough for them to do a dataset for the Pathfinder RPG - they are already working with Paizo and doing work based ont he 3.5 rules.

I use DM Genie too and it willhandle the new changes fine.

I believe RPGXplorer has plans for use with PRPG... I'd suspect though that nothing is going to happen with it until the beta is released. Just supposition on my part.

what ever happened to Paizo's deal with Lone Wolf to do a Pathfinder data set for Hero Lab?

I use Hero Lab for my World of Darkness campaign. But the latest release 2.0, has all of the Pathfinder data up until Pathfinder 7. *click, click*. This is what the release notes say: "Material from Pathfinder 5-7 has been added, including the Curse of the Crimson Throne player's guide."

Remember to get the pathfinder data set you have to fiddle with the options as it's not turned on by default.

Hero Lab has full support for Pathfinder, so Pathfinder players can leverage all the new functionality we just added in V2.0 to help GMs manage campaigns. Going forward, we'll be actively supporting the new Pathfinder RPG. In fact, we'll be sitting down with them in two weeks to map out how Hero Lab will be coordinated with the Pathfinder RPG launch.

Rob,

I glanced at the site.. it looks like Data from Chapters 1 through 3 have been added, but has there been any Pathfinder Specific updates after that?

I'm not sure where you're looking on our site. Perhaps at the news update from back in early December? :-) The V2.0 release we posted a couple weeks ago is up-to-date with all Pathfinder material. It seems that detail didn't make it into the V2.0 news announcement - all the new campaign stuff was much sexier to talk about. Sorry for the confusion.

Hero Lab currently includes all the core material for both adventure paths (RotR and CotCT). All of the player's guide material is incorporated, as well as all of the PCs and special gear/rules used within the two APs. You can download HL from our website and take it for a test drive to see how smoothly everything is integrated.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, the Pathfinder stuff is not enabled by default for characters. You can easily toggle it on via the Configure Hero form that appears when you create a new character.

Hope this clarification proves helpful....

No problem.. I just never looked at your stuff before, I didn't really dig much.

Cool. I'll take a look.
