And sorry to have to make the waiters from Bloodsworn have to wait longer, but today's going to be crazy busy. It will probably be a day or two before I post full character creation guidelines.
Those of you from Bloodsworn are free to keep your characters, but it's probably worth at least looking at retooling for the new environment. You can also make new characters, but it's all good to me.

"This is cursed, that is cursed, everything with you is always cursed..." (Excellent choice of quotes for the new game, by the way)
Heh. Sorry Still no update. Really beat from the last couple of days.
But I think I can promise that I will stick around, and I will start the game. I've got two other games going that I have no intention of abandoning. They're going too well.
And these days, PbP gaming is the only gaming I get. I'm frequently too busy to game IRL. Feh.

Well, one way to get things rolling a little bit would could be to start talking about character concepts for those interested in the game.
Massively inspired by the newest Iconic, Sajan, I'm contemplating a monk. Never played one before, so it should be interesting.

I may stay with the Halfling Druid anyway, or I did want to play a barbarian originally till we needed a healer..I'll se how it shakes out
@ Sean (esteemed Minister of QUISP) if you run across a post about PBP DMs abandoning their players and having their pelvis screwed to a cake stand, it was referreing to our ex DM (not you)

I SWEARZ THIS GAME WILL NOT DIE!
(Heh, the Z was a typo, but I'm leaving it...)
Character creation rules tonight. PINKY SWEAR!

Yeah, I know... I'm a big lying liar who lies. And also sometimes wishes he wasn't so good at his job. Sorry, I had a bunch of last minute work calls this week. I have it all noted up, I just need to get in front of my home computer and post it.

Heh. Business has been good lately, but it gives no love to my PbP players.
So!
Characters should use a 28 point buy, and I think my being overworked has done us a favor... We'll be using this PbP to test the waters on Pathfinder! People from the Bloodsworn campaign who want to rewrite their characters under Pathfinder rules may do so (though it is not required). I want to take a moment to reconsider starting magic item rules, so I'll try and post those shortly.
I was considering running competing parties through Pharoahs, but I now think that will be too much. So, just the one party. Depending on how many players are still waiting for the game to start, I may recruit one or two more players.

I'm still interested. As I said earlier, I'm contemplating a monk.
Since monks won't be covered until Alpha Release 3 I assume that I'll be able to update when those rules come around.Still haven't read all the new stuff in Alpha 1, but I think some general changes can be applied even to those classes not covered yet.

Yes. Since this will be a full fledged Alpha playtest, any characters made currently that later have alpha or beta rules released for them may update to the new rules, even if that winds up imposing some retroactive changes.
To be clear, I won't retroactively change story elements that have already occurred, but I want to be able to integrate new rules as they happen. I expect this to be pretty seamless, but there may be some bumps we run into along the way.

What level characters? First?
Characters will be starting at 6th level.

Hey Sean, after careful consideration, I've decided to withdraw my name from this one... thanks for giving me the chance to play, though. Finding the time to post consistently as a player in four PbPs is challenging enough, so I don't think it would be wise of me to take on a 5th, though it breaks my heart to bow out of Pharoahs... I can't imagine what it must take to be a DM for three PbPs simultaneously...

Some alpha playtest guidelines to keep in mind:
1) Read everything through carefully at least twice. Being the GM, I'll be the final arbiter on rules calls, but making sure we all understand and are applying the rules correctly is a group effort, and as much as we're trying to test the rules, we're also testing the clarity of the rules.
2) Try and break things. If you see something in the new rules you don't like, put it through its paces and see if it's really broken, or if there's something workable in there. Conversely if you see something you like too much, try it out and see if it's too powerful.
3) When comparing and examining relative power levels with the new rules, keep in mind that if something seems overpowered compared to something in 3.5 that hasn't been updated to alpha rules yet, it will probably seem less unbalanced when the old information gets its first alpha update.
4) SRD+ALPHA ONLY! NO SPLATBOOK STUFF! Paizo can't use it. Neither can we.
5) No alternate rules (just yet) from the SRD, either. Main rules only, when not using alpha rules.
6) If any alpha release contains rules that affect your character to any degree (race, skills, class, anything, you may perform an instant rebuild to conform to the new rules, pending my approval (just so we're all on the same page about the new rules).
7) Have fun. Be creative. If, during the course of play, you have ideas for alternate rules or rules improvements, bring it up here in the discussion thread, and possibly over at the alpha playtest forums if you're so inclined. If we have wind up with some ideas that we think will work better, clearer, quicker or easier than what's presented in the alpha rules, we may wind up trying to test those ideas as well.
Now, having said that last part, the caveat is, of course, that with this adventure, we'll only be playtesting from 6th through maybe 9th levels. And even though I do try and update my games pretty regularly (through good periods, at least once a day) sometimes work eats me for a while, as you already know. I'll be striving very hard to post frequently with this game, as we want to do as much actually testing as possible during the time period it actually does anybody any good.
Anyway, more thoughts soon.

No worries, mate.

I note that Druid is slated for alpha 2, and Fleaux has been trying to escape the confines of my mind for a while, and I'd like to use im' but I'll play a stright up cleric in the vein of trying out the new ride, unless someone else wants that. What say you Mr. DM? If nobody cops to cleric should I? (He'll undoubtedly change from the new race/skill/other rules anyway if I do play a Druid)Players, any cleric's out there? I bet a Cleric would be more useful in a "tomb" anyway (even though the challenge of playing a Druid in those environs is also cool)

I say go for it! Even if someone else wants to play a cleric it'll probably be of a different god, thus with different domains.

Due to a confluence of work, personal and health reasons, I'm afraid all my games are now indefinitely suspended. Which really means they are over, I think.
I'm sorry. You guys have every right to be mad at me for both the constant broken promises and the abrupt end. It's okay, I understand. I'd be upset too.
I really liked all the characters in all my games, and liked how the play was going. I think you're all great roleplayers, and the has been some of the best gaming I've ever played. I was really looking forward to where each of these campaigns was going.
I've got nothing else to offer, except my sincere apologies.
Please, everybody take care, be well, and good gaming. Each and every one of you brings a superior level of play to any game you play in. There's no hard feelings on my part, and I accept and understand if that's not necessarily the case in return.
I'm not leaving the boards or anything, but I doubt I'll be posting very much for a while.
Sorry gang. I'm really sorry.
