Hope you got all moved in safe and sound Vatt!
I seriously need to do the Char updates I've been putting off.
Good news, now that my stoopid busy time is over, I can get back to semi-regular posting! :)
On another note, Wizard 101 is fun and addictive! ;P And free to play (to start, that's how they suck you in!) ;P

It's all good. I have found that when I get the urge to respond to trolling with even worse trolling then it is time to unplug, read some of the massive stack of books I am piling up, take the dogs for a walk, ride my bike, weed my garden, etc. It puts this stuff in perspective.

But if you're not reading the boards, how will you know what's evil?
Y'know what's evil, or at least banal? A bunch of OCD basement dwellers trying to use dusty philosophers to sanctify their imaginary actions in a make-believe game whose central concepts are murder, theivery, grave desecration and the occasional bout of necromancy ;P

Well it sure ain't good.

Definitely sounds like time for a sabbatical.
It's all good, Patrick; I know the feeling...
Something just gave me a bad case of schadenfreude IRL, I feel "bad" about it, but.....meh. I'm in a good mood all around. I feel guilty for being in a good mood, but.....what the heck.

Everybody - I'm sorry about my reduced posting rate. With travel time, I'm usually gone from 8 in the morning to 9 at night most days, and since I have no internet access at work I sometimes struggle to keep up. 'm pretty confident that this will improve in a couple of months, though, so please bear with me until then.

Re-dot,... again,... (Where do they go? the same place socks that disappear in the dryer go?)
Rush is good. In the 80's all I listened to was movie soundtracks and Christian Rock. It was the 90's before I realized that I had missed a lot of good music.
(I had missed a lot of BAD music too, but this way I got others to weed it out for me,...) ;P

I really don't quite know what to do now. My first instinct is to start slinging spells, but the dwarf might be right about the entrapment effect... Any suggestions?
Well, I assume then we will have to fight our way out, encounter by encounter. Kinda like the old movie Warriors.

Meh, fight him until he surrenders. If we accidently kill him, we'll need to tool around in this world for a bit fighting fiends until Altai gets to a high enough level to magic us out of here.

*retcons the Linkboy to be holding three beerbottles on his fingers*
clinkclinkclink.....
Now we need baseball bats, rollerskates, and feather earrings.....
damn that movie was hot.
Heh,
And IIRC, it was filmed in my old stompin' grounds. Tulsa OK!I remember them remodeling an old run-down street downtown to film that on. Afterwords they tried to use it to 'revitalize' the downtown area.
Yeeeeeaaaah,.... There was a REASON it was an old, run-down street before,... ;P

Just wondering.....after the upcoming bit with the dragon,....do you guys fancy working for the efreeti? I was envisioning a kinda transdimensional mission here or there; might work.
I know the efreeti are "evil," but I won't let them be too damn gnarly; I'm kinda bored with the whole "let's make a bunch of alignment compromise type decisions" schtick.
You won't have to destroy a village of baby ewoks to complete any missions. Unless you want to.

Apologies folks. I have just had a very busy week. It was presumably my vacation, but when you stay at home for vacation, odd things happen to your time. Add in a crushing case of writer's block and a writing project overdue and I am suffering. I promise next week to be more involved.

dungeonmaster heathy |

Whelp,.....
nearing the final throwdown with th' dragon here; I'm kinda tweaking and brainstorming at the moment; I see that some people still have to level and all.
Haven't seen Kruely in a good month; I also have figured out a story mechanism whereby I could leave him on the sidelines if we wanted to and bring him back at a moment's notice if he shows up; or somebody could npc him.......only thing is I notice we have a gob of npc's and poor Altai hs running a bunch of Claws and stone giants and whatnot.....

Yeah, we’re kind of in a bit of a rut player-wise at the moment. Rags and I are usually about but sometimes life catches up and we need to drop out for days at a time. Real life issues have dramatically slowed Vatt’s posting rate and internet access seems a bit dicey. Pat has RL issues keeping him absent (or concise) and Kruelly has not re-surfaced.
Don’t know what to do at this end except I don’t mind running Stig and / or the giant for a bit if it suits, to give Vatts a break.
And I suggest that if we’re going after dragons, everyone take the time to level up if possible!

I've noticed that we all seem a bit less available than we were. Of course, loads of us have had big life changes over the last five years or so: children, marriage and so on. And the recession seems to be having an impact as well. Who'da thunk it - a banking crisis impacting on our D&D games?

Ragadolf |

Yep. RL bytes. ;P
At least work should be back to normal levels of stupidity, I mean insanity, this week. IF I stay focused, (IE=get on the PC after family is in bed) I should be able to catch up on ALL my poor lvl-up starved PbP PC's!
I don't mind trying to run someone, or thing, as well as the druid. But response time might be slow, as lately it seems like algebra to get my shapeshifted & summons' att/dmg's right! (I can't imagine trying to run Stiggy w/out actually having gotten used to it as he leveled up!) :)
Yeah, the stress of the economy is being felt at my house too. (In triplicate it seems, sometimes.)
That would be a good thread to start in the general discussion topics,
'How has the economy affected your RP games?' :)

My personal recession is more due to 3 kids and being in a field with only 25,000 in the U.S. There's too many schools graduating too many techs right now, and with online schools it's the worst it has ever been......
so the "man" has the "upper hand," which is never good.

Not to mention international moves.
My life changes since we began these games have probably been less than some, but yeah, having the extra kid and more responsibility at work have certainly had an impact.

No, that’s never good.
So too many applicants, not enough positions?

I hate to tell you Rags, but I think you have two level-ups to complete ... we are on 14th now.

dungeonmaster heathy |

Yeah; it runs in cycles. It was great when I graduated 11 years ago; right now, it's pretty bleak, so if you have a job you're stuck there.
AND, the schools are online now a lot of times, so that just makes it easier for them to hypersaturate the market with people who won't be able to find work.

Yep. This one was actually one of my easier ones to deal with! :)
I gave him a decent selection of standard daily spells now. (I luv some of the new APG & UM stuff!) Unless anyone thinks I should prepare Bark skin or Bulls str: Mass?I do still need to go shopping though. What do you get for the druid who can shapechange into almost anything he wants? ;P
