See it.

Nuff said.

I watched the entire first season and half the second over the weekend, and I'm still laughing. It's like it was made for gamers by really smart gamers.

Dr. Orpheus is my fave!

Venture Brothers is the best of Adult Swim -- if you can suffer through the other shows to see it!

From the Scooby Doo parody to the henchman of the Monarch -- some really twisted NPC ideas!

Agreed! My good friend bought it on DVD so we treated ourselves to an absolute smörgåsbord! I'm gonna go get me those boxed sets this week!

Liberty's Edge

I love that show.

It makes me so happy. It touches a part of my soul I long thought dead. Delicious. I need to see the rest of Season 2 STAT!

Dr. Orpheus is my favorite!!! His music is so great, and the guy who does his voice is an absolute genius. He just gets it.

Yeah, I laughed for five full minutes on that one.

Brilliant show, and a fine satire of all things superheroic. I got hooked on the first appearance years ago. The ending of the first season really turned me off... until I saw the explanation! Brilliant!

---
Dr. Byron Orpheus: Orpheus! I am known to men as Dr. Orpheus! And mine is to perceive and control the delicate arrangement of the cosmos!

Dr. Venture: They give out Ph.Ds for that?

Dr. Byron Orpheus: [in a lowered voice] Junior college upstate, communication major, minor in women's studies. But I assure you, sir, the doctor title was bestowed upon me by a higher power than a mere college professor!

BEST CARTOON EVER!

It actually beats out Family Guy for me. It's the only one I have set to be recorded.

Dr. Venture: I bet you're the reason I've been having those blackouts! I thought it was the pills!

Jonas Jr.: IT WAS THE PILLS!

The deleted scenes are the best. :D

There's a certain level of nostalic parody I just love about the show - it just so hilariously mocks so much pop-culture stuff from the 60's and 70's. The Walt Disney knock-off (Brisby, wasn't it?) was just hilarious to me, yet so wickedly done at the same time.

"it's like a bucket full of payday bars in there."

Dr. Orpheus is the best!

Yeah, got finish the rest of the sseason 2.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

I'll have to check this cartoon out.

So, Mr. Logue, this is what you were doing on your very busy weekend? (snickers)

B-Man - good to hear from you. Hope things are well!

Hey, Anceint Sensei!
I'm well. How about you? You got to check out the Venture Bros. Real good stuff.

White: Whoa, Billy! Sweatsock? Oiled garbage bag? Oh my god, 'Melon heated in a microwave'?!

Dr. Venture: That's very creative, Billy! I'm sure your mother is proud. Give me that!

Billy: I didn't understand the question! Seriously! I didn't know what you meant by "guilty pleasure"! Have we had enough fun here?

Dr. Venture: Oh, no, fun is number five: "Dustbuster with corner attachment".

White: That. Sounds dangerous.

Billy: I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION!

Whoa, how'd you miss out on Venture Bros.? It's easily been the funniest, smartest show on TV for the past few years. If you're a Dr. Orpheus fan, check out the season 2 ep when he tries to reform his old super-group and auditions for a super-villain.

Hard to believe, but I think season 2 actually topped season 1, especially the finale.

Yeah, I don't have a T.V. so I have to find out about these things in other ways. Sometimes I miss T.V. but then I would NEVER get even half the writing I need to do done if I had one. I try to find out what I can from my buddies (who have impeccable taste...I'm looking at you BVic!).

I LOOOOVE Dr. Orpheus!

Did you guys finish the rest of season 2. What an ending! Can't wait for season 3.

Anyone know when the new season starts? Or, more importantly (for my non-cable-having uses), when the new season finishes and gets released on DVD?

I'm dying to know what Dr. Girlfriend's big revelation is.

I have a suspicion, or two...

Spoiler:
An honest to goodness spoiler from me!! Wonders never cease! Anyways... I will be seriously disappointed if the revelation is that she used to be a man. That would be too obvious. I think she confessed to sleeping with Dr. (R) Venture. In part one of the season finale, Dr. Venture comes onto Dr. Girlfriend. The scene ends with her asking him to help "zip up her dress". I suspect that.. other things... happened there.

Or I'm completely off-base and the actual answer will be something else entirely. I kinda hope this is the case. :)

Ok... so I watch my DVD's waaaay too much. Sue me. I've been held in suspense for the better part of a year, now.

Of course, please spoiler any counter-theories you may have. And you know the actual revelation, please forewarn your spoiler. 'Cause I really don't want to know until I see it, but I'm curious what other peoples' theories may be. :)

I have no idea when the next season is coming. I would rather they take their time and make it really good than rush it out, though.

Spoiler:
I think she may be pregnant. That's the first idea that comes to mind.

Last year, I had heard that they were planning on debuting new episodes in February 2008.

I guess I'll have actually try to look the answer up, myself. GOOGLE TO THE RESCUE!!!

It was not my Google-fu that was lacking! Merely my reading comprehension and retention!

Thanks, ghetto, for the info. You rock! :)

Wooot!!!! New episodes in June!! I can't wait!

I seem to have missed out on this series. I'm missing a lot, aren't I? Should I get the seasons on iTunes, or on DVD?

My personal opinion, it's definitely worth the DVD set. Funny, funny stuff.

You could always go here to see episodes online.

I just found this show at the start of Season 3 thanks to the magic of Tivo. Holy crap I laughed so hard I almost bust a kidney. Me and my wife went out last week and bought Seasons One and Two and watched them obsessively until they were finished. Now we are seriously thinking of watching them again! OMG it is SO funny!

I love Jonas Jr.'s crew at Spider Skull Island, last week's episode was freakin' hilarious. The last bit had me rolling when Dr. Venture tells Brock they should go back.

I'm kind of surprised that somehow a quality show made it onto Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Something that has production value and solid story lines.

Seems like they're building for something in season 2 as well.

Silver Crusade

Is it bad that the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend are my favorite couple currently on TV?

Actually Mikaze, I would say that is a sign of a healthy and well-adjusted mind.

I trust everyone knows about the Monarch's DeviantArt account. I think he took that up around the same time he began blogging in prison.

Ever since I first saw it I've been fighting the urge to write and draw up a short journal along those lines for an evil overlord type to serve as a handout to the PCs, either as an adventure(or campaign) hook or making the search for individual pages an adventure in and of itself.

IGNORE ME!

On the DVD commentary (yeah, I'm a dork. sue me) for the 2nd Season, they observed they were relying pretty heavily on Star Wars for their jokes, and resolved to not use any Star Wars references for 3rd Season. They managed to follow through on this promise, with only two tiny exceptions: one obvious and one slightly more subtle. Did you pick up on them?
