Hello, I am a newbie to PBP but I am very interested.
I'm interested too...
I think it would be pretty awesome if someone would DM this (and the sequels) and grab NSpicer and Tarren Dei

Shooting myself in the foot, but here's a game starting up. new game
Yeah, but it's full. And being new I think a first level adventure would be best.
I see that including myself there are already 4 interested people looking for a DM!
Anyone?

Hello all, thought I'd just drop in a post here. I'm looking to start up a pbp as a DM. I'm looking for two more players. Some details are under the Viking and Vampires thread in the gamer connection. It's 3.5 but low magic with a few tweaks mostly borrowing from Iron Heroes. THe setting is akin to Viking Iceland and was planning on using/adapting material from D0 Falcon Hollow to kick off the first adventure. If vikings pique your interest check out the thread for more info.

Ashendel, had a pretty cool system here.
Seems like there are typically more players than DMs.

If you're gonna DM check out some of the ideas Here and read the first page of posts for a couple of the threads cuz there's lots of great ideas from the DMs starting their games and answering questions.
There are still a few more people brewing campaigns, so be patient and keep looking in on "Gamer connection" as often as you can for new threads because stuff is filling up really fast.

Great question!
The most successful PbPs (I've seen) seem to be those where the players post a lot and basically tell their own stories under the gentle direction of the DM. Outside of battle orchestration and being the voice of NPCs the DM should let players roleplay the game.
I'm playing in one game that has 265+ messages and we haven't started the adventure proper yet (no combat). It's all been just mingling...
It's no fun when days go by and nothing happens either because the players have no idea what's going on or the DM has not done a good enough job to fuel the fire.
Seriously dedicated to me means (i) able to post at least once every day with more times a preference and (ii) being able to be a part of the story.
Oh, I guess open communication on the Discussion thread is pretty important, too. Let the rest of the party know if you're going to be out of town a couple days, or swamped with work, or just avoiding the computer. That way everyone isn't left wondering what's going on.

I would rather play, but I would not be opposed to DMing if we can find a few seriously dedicated players.
So far we have:
me Newbie Noddy Tarren
I really shouldn't volunteer for another game but I am interested in running through D0 and D1 and I know that its not really a suitable environment for my family game. If you guys are still interested, I'll DM.
I'll need to reread D0 before I'm ready but so long as you all are still interested I'll start a discussion thread this afternoon.

I'm interested.
Wasn't your wife going to give you a hard time if you took on another? :-) Maybe that was someone else.

So really strong on the Roleplaying aspect of the game is what people who run a PbP are actually looking for then right?
If that is the case I enjoy actual story-telling type game play.
Um, well, this is my point of view. I'm in a couple games and DMing one that are not moving as quick as I think they should.
If you only post once (or twice) a day, you cannot be be bogged down with trivialities.

I am interested too. I am new to PBP but not to the game.

It looks like we have a DM! Thanks Wicht.
So if you count me, DF, Noddy, and Tarren, how many players would you like? LongreachJones and Terry Dyer have expressed an interest, too.
Who wants to play what? I wouldn't mind a melee type, or even a combat-heavy cleric.

I would like only four. Four dedicated players should be not too slow. The more you have the longer interaction has to take. But a poster who convinces me of his ability to post early and often might sway me.

I'd rather like to be able to play. Can post a couple times a day no problem.
I'd like to play a human ranger with strong ties to the outdoors or a little more of a wilderness rogue

Go ahead and post in the Discussion Thread. Chances are good you can make the cut.

Greetings all - I would love to DM on here but am already running two games on other sites - one on Online-Roleplaying.com (a FR game in the North) and one through Google groups (Red Hand of Doom); RHoD just started this weekend and it looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun.
When I read about players interested in gaming, my fingers start twitching and I want to jump in and say, "I'll do it!" but then I reign myself in and say, "You're already running two games, dummy!"
Why am I posting this? Hell, I don't know - I'm kinda rambling. But, I'm going to email some friends and see if I can't convince them to join up and run a game or three. So, stay tuned - as with most pbp forums, there are always new games starting and old games needing fresh meat...er, players for adventuring.

To the OP.
I am trying to get a Falcon's hollow off the ground, probably will run into the kobald king, then start again once I have the first volume or two of the second AP in hand.....
If you are still interested go here and sign up....
It's taking a while to get off the ground, but take a look if you like.

I wish someone would run an Entombed with the Pharoahs PBP here.
I would like to see this too.
That said, there's a slight chance - slight, mind you - that after this RPG Superstar craziness is over, I might be interested in running a game set in Iskandria, where a slightly modified Entombed with the Pharaohs would fit perfectly.

If you do an Iskandria PBP...Please Please count me in. Of corse after you win this thing you may not have the time! :)

I'll admit I'm interested too - Iskandria sounds like a cool setting, and Entombed is one of those modules that might be cool for a stand-alone. Like others have said, that is if you find the time or motivation.

SargonX, when can you post the GodKing PrC? I recall they're indigenous to Iskandria.
I actually answered this question way back in my response to round 2. But it was a lot of explanation and certainly I can't expect everyone to read through all that, so I'll repost it here. :)
Radavel wrote:As god-king is really just a political/religious title, I would have to say no. However, the Charlatans of Almudin might make an excellent PrC...Will there be a god-king PrC?
Not that I'm opposed to a God-King PrC, mind you, I just assumed it wouldn't need one, just as normal kings don't have a King PrC. But do you have any ideas?

Sounds great! Count me in for an Iskandria PBP, if/when it takes place.
