I still want to know what is going on Friday evening of the convention. It seems to me, that if we have folks flying and driving in for this convention we should plan this as a 2 1/2 day convention, rather than a Saturday-Sunday convention.

Last year, there was a general meet-and-greet at a terrific game store in the Seattle area on Friday night, and I think that's the right idea: a chance to catch up with people and meet new friends over board games.

Well, you were RIGHT! It will be a weekend, at the minimum.

The plan is for PaizoCon to be at least Saturday and Sunday. Chris is correct in that we will likely have a Friday social event that involves eating, and meeting each other, and actually talking. We will probably mix in a bit of casual gaming as well...you know, for fun. And, it is not a mandatory event. Purely by choice.

That's not saying that is our only plan for Friday...we might have some other events. Now, TheLesuit, I know you want to know what the plan is for tournaments and such, but we are still in the planning stages. Once we get some things figured out, I believe we will then be able to move this forward a bit more.

As far as our progress, though: we are in a much better state of preparation than we were for the first PaizoCon. For sure!

Please hold tight, and bear with me.

I'm cool with holding tight. I'm mostly concerned with logistics. Given our projected numbers for attendance and the fact that numerous folks are moving over great distances to attend...we may want to do something a bit more organized for Friday night.

While having a very informal gathering and carpooling to a local eatery might have been very cool for a small one-day (mostly local) affair that was PAIZOCON UNO I'm not sure that works for what might transpire next year. At the very least we should secure space at the convention venue where folks can gather Friday night.

You have a point...Maybe now we will be over 50 and casual -going out- doesn't work for groups over 20-30... But I trust Tim will. figure it out in due time.

Tim,

Is there any word on the weekend of Paizo-con?

Sorry, I'm still awaiting word. I had hoped to know something by this week. I'm told a decision is close at hand, though.

Bear with me a wee bit longer....

Tim,

I'm not sure what's going on, but the deadline for my changing airline tickets is Monday, the 10th. It would be terrific for me to know if I need to switch to another weekend.

Is there any more info on this? I didn't think it would be possible for me to attend, but it looks as if I might actually make it!

I hope that I will have something to announce soon. Honest. That said, I am heartened by the continued interest! Please, keep being interested!

Visit the Meetup page .
RSVP for it (keeping in mind that if all goes according to plan, we are likely going to move the event to June).
Check out the discussions there.

And keep asking me if there is any more info! I promise that one day the answer will be YES!

I want more info! more info I say!

Can you just imagine how grand Paizocons will bloom in the coming years as the Pathfinder fan base deepends?

Austin! Now you're talkin.

Tim, if it's officially happening in June, then I'm going to go ahead and change my ticket.

It is indeed. It is OFFICIAL. June 12-14, 2009. Paizo-run PaizoCon.

People in the Paizo Community have been planning all sorts of things to make and give away for prizes. Hugo's inspired a PaizoCon Fanzine! Lilith's making a fabulous mini! N'wah and Ben are also making a special mini for a prize! PaizoCon-exclusive Pathfinder Society events! A chance to play in a game run by a Paizo staffer or contributor!

Why do I keep shouting!?!?

Seriously, change your ticket. We'll see you in June, my friend!

Tim, you should create an 'event' on Facebook for PaizoCon. That way, we can all RSVP and tell all our Facebook friends about it...

Excellent idea, ED! I've begun the process, and have a few things to check...and then I'll start the invites, OK?

Hang tight, Facebookers!

Kruelaid, my advice is, if you're going to be tunnelling halfway through the planet, then you should finish up and tunnel the other half as well.

Otherwise, we'll all be enjoying each other's company on the western coast of North America, and you'll be under miles of solid iron at 4300 degrees C. (Actually, since you're tunnelling, you'll probably be dealing with liquid iron, which stings and screws up cell phone reception, too.)

My wife and I are really looking forward to this event. She tends to get overwhelmed at the large Cons, but this sounds to be just the right size. I'll be banging the drum in Vancouver and through the Vancouver Gaming Guild!

D'Oh this may conflict with my Ragnar Relay. but if not cool. Tim I sent a suggestion (through meetup) for a couple different things, so if it is not too late for setting stuff up please let me know.

Strange. I didn't receive anything from you. Be sure to send it to ME. The Lead Organizer on that Meetup page is no longer attending to the site, so your emails will be unanswered.

What happened to him?

Liberty's Edge

Crap. I'm working a school event with the campus library that weekend.

I already changed my attendance thing on the site. Is it possible for me to get a refund on my registration fee?

Hope the rest of you kick the crap out of some baddies for me!

On an entirely more eager note, anyone thinking of doing a similar sort of thin in Australia? No? Ah well. Good luck then Timitius.

I sent you your refund back through PayPal. Let me know that it was received, OK?

Boy, I'm glad that I won't be handling many of THOSE!

We'll miss you though!

OK Resending e-mail.

*sniff* Paizocon is only 5 hours from home and I have two different family members within commuting distance. But I will be in 20-25 hours away and running in the dark while y'all are gaming. Next year, next year I promise you!!
