My PC's keep thwarting the goblins that are invading Sandpoint. I'm at the end of my rope! I've tried everthing from fudging dice rolls in the goblins' favor to striking the party Paladin dead with a lightning bolt from the sky. Nothing seems to work! The PC's keep driving the goblins out of town. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing...Just let them steal the clerc's body at the cemetery and than let them return to their lair... Remind you, the goblin's goals is not to occupy and sack the town but to create a diversion for one of their group (let by Tsuto) to steal the corpse...

I'm still trying to figure out how to keep the PCs from realizing that Ameiko is sending the Bugbears inside info on the town's defenses. They have been spending a lot of time at the Rusty Dragon, though so far they keep failing their sense motive checks against her outrageous bluff skills so maybe I'm worrying about nothing.

One of my goblins is planning on challenging the mayor to single combat for rulership of the town. This is mainly for its utility as a source of cinnamon buns, of course.
Heh - good thread. Gotta keep those cinnamon buns coming. The goblin economy depends on an ever increasing number of cinnamon buns (and pickles) to grease its wheels (and fatten little goblin tummies).

Right now there's a ban against any goblins entering Sandpoint, which is unfair considering how helpful the (goblin) PCs were during the Swallowtail Festival attack. The cinnamon buns are certainly the main reason that this is problematic for them, but once they swear fealty to the Company of the Old Light (a local "hero" group consisting mostly of teenagers) their problems will all go away.

ROTFL Are you sure this isn't one of those sly references to the Pixie Kittens??
Yeah - the goblins aren't supposed to win. How big is the party?

No. you are wrong.

Yea, I'm pretty confused about this thread. The idea is not to take over the town but to gain the corpse of the cleric and cause a little Goblin mayhem with it.
Sheesh.
I can't believe you'd give a spoiler like that away in a thread like this. Next you'll be telling everyone the deceased priest is really a sleeping arch-lich in service to the Rune Lord of Sloth.

My condolences. Hook Mountain is a worthy adventure. But when you read it and are indignant, remember that we are but mad when the wind is north-northwest. When the wind is southerly I know a hawk from a handsaw.

As I wrote in the other post, it might be a good idea to have them make their sense motive at one point, especialy if the PCs are especialy long to get on track. You can easily improvise a search of the Kaijitsu manor by the PCs for them to find info on Ameiko's plans and other connections.

I sure hope you do; it would be mighty embarrassing if you were to attempt to cleave a tool with an avian.

Please don't use the boards to spread disinformation. I realize you're trying to fool players that you don't think should be reading these boards, but you're clearly also confusing GMs.
Thank you Vic!
Imagine you are a DM later searching the boards for help and you are getting threads like this.
Just ask your players not visit these boards. If they do anyway you need to either boot the player from the group if they cheat no matter what or not play pre-written stuff.
But PLEASE, don't make the boards tougher for the rest of us to use.
