Just a heads up. Oil reached $90 a barrel today. The local news predicted that the price of gas would take a steep jump sometime within the next day or two. I plan on filling everything up ASAP to save myself some money.

BTW, very funny slogans. I'll give it a day or two before someone posts some slamming the Dems. And rightly so.... :-)

Heard from an investor friend of mine that they were already projecting the impact on the US economy of oil @ $140 a barrel....

It just cost me about $40 to fill up a couple of hours ago here in Seattle.

I sure hope we attack Iran! That would be great!

I bet the Canadians are hiding oil (the trick is, to find "closer" enemies, so we don't spend as much to drive there and attack them). Can we carpool with anyone?

"Canada or Bust"

Do you complain about fuel costs ?
Well, I filled my car yesterday, and had to pay for 68 liters about 95 Euros. At todays exchange rate, that would be around 135 US-$ (roughly 7.5 $ per Gallon). So, what are you complaining about?
(What good is an Autobahn without speed limits if you can´t afford to let your car go 120 mph?)

Printer ink is more like $25. But you're comparing a machined product (the cartridge costs money too) with what is essentially a raw material. That's not even apples and oranges, that's oranges and rocks.

If you have to explain a joke, it isn't funny any more.

Talk about no sense of humor, dude.

As if the cost of printer cartridges is reasonable. They could leave a little more space and sell them with a little more ink.... But then they wouldn't be able to soak us as much.

Yeah, Mrs. Zombie was over in the UK a year or two ago and told me how gas prices were way higher than in the States. I think she shaid she saw prices that were like $6-7 a galllon.

Hmm...

Democrats: Corruption? We've cornered the market!

Democrats: Not just for fake Chinese Donors anymore.

Democrats: Fighting for Discrimination since 1861

Democrats: What? We're war profiteers? Look over there! A bunny!

Democrats: Sliming our troops since 1971

Democrats: We just Taser our protestors.

Democrats: We support the troops by taking credit for someone else's charity.

Democrats: We don't need no stinkin constitution.

Democrats: When we slash tires, it's free expression.

Democrats: $90 a barrel? Why we need to do something. No, not Anwar, no not nuclear plants, no not oil shale drilling...

Democrats: We support our Nazi, Stalinist, breaking down the doors in the night and terrifying the children troops.

Need more?

Speaking of miles per gallon:

A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found that Americans drink an average of about 22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average, American get about 41 miles per gallon!

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.

I've never been more insulted.

I drink way more beer than that in a year.

That's not fair, Look at Hillary she is really going all out and trying to honor all those brave folks from Woodstock with a museum. With all the important issues of today I'm glad to see someone is out fighting for all those wonderful hippies.

Best beware of Eric Cartman and the Tripper Mrs. Clinton!!!

Hi everyone. Hello. Hi there. My name is Mike. You might recognized me, as I'm a frequent poster to these boards. There are a lot of cool people here, and I really enjoy talking to all of you.

I'm a little concerned, though.

Politics is a really ugly subject that invariably brings out the worst in people. We're all friends here, even if don't agree with one another on most things, but politics makes even friends mean to one another.

Can we please avoid politics in this thread?

Thank you. :)

Hello, Mike. Hello.

Yes, I agree that politics can bring out the nasties in people.

Perhaps we can all agree that not only should the White House be under new management, but that the 535 F*%kwits up on the Hill need to be booted, but quick!

Did I take the bait (from Comrade Shiny)? Yes, I did. I'm kinda weak that way sometimes.

Will I continue to help point out the hypocricy on both sides of the aisle? Absolutely.

Not a rant, just a thought...........Oh, and I do hope everyone has a nice day! :-)

What a fascinating colloquialism; I immediately set out to learn the etymology. I don’t think I’ll appropriate it, but it is nice to know the context if I hear it again.

I'm from Ohio, or as we call it, Bizzaro world.

Sen Brown (D) voted against Amnesty, Sen Sonofavich (R) Voted for it

Ted Strickland (D) just let a tax cut sneak through...

Bob (I broke the law, but know my party will protect me) Taft (R) was the biggest gift to Ohio Dems since the founding of the state

I'm a really honking small government conservative myself.

The only thing I find more contemptable than Democrats are Ohio Republicans.

And lets not forget, Democrats in congress voted for censorship, FISA, abrogating their congressional powers, trying to snag executive powers and down partisin lines on nominations.

Also don't forget Bobbie 'Sheets' Byrd, putting the KKK in DemoKKRats ;-)

At least the Rs disowned Duke (and they're trying to disown Ron Paul)

Oops, forgot, shutting up on the politics, though I have to disagree with you, Mr. Baur. I'll just pester you in mail though,

I agree with you 100% Mike!!! I'm assuming of course that would mean that Paizo employees will also refrain from posting their personal political views in the future?

I was a little dissapointed by an earlier post from Erik, whose work I have nothing but highest respect for.

The problem with this type of post or for example the Al Gore post from last week is that your asking people from all different lifestyles and veiws from not only the U.S. but the whole world not to reply to something that personally offends them but to play nice.

Free Speech, got love it!!!

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32, 2010 Top 8

Mike, politics aside, what about the use of pebble reactors in electricity generation? How do you feel 'bout that?

Lord Vile wrote:

Message boards can be a difficult place to establish tone; Lord knows I’ve offended people in droves with my tendency for flippant rapid-fire responses.

However, the post was so ludicrous as to be obviously facetious.

Of course it was but was there also a veiled attempt to take a shot at a particular indvidual, party or ideology?

Words can have many different layers and meanings and we must consider that not everyone will see it the way you intended it to be seen or even agree with you.

My point is that Paizo staffers have to be weary on how they present themseveles. You and I can argue all day on whether there is a God or a spaghetti monster in the heavens and that's cool.

But if James or Erik or even Mike make a political statement even in fun they risk alienating at least some of the fan base. Everyone at Paizo could be left wing loonies or right wing nut jobs for all I care, but if I have to listen to views I disagree with and then be attacked in turn, well not only is that a turn off but it could lead me to stop buying their products in retilation.

Ok I'm off the soap box. Can't we all get along or and if you haven't guessed I'm a right wing nut job hehe.

That would be my preference, but I don't run the place, so there you go. Of course, I'm very apolitical (maybe even anti-political) so I'm probably not the best person to ask. ;)

Matthew Morris wrote:

I approve of relatively safe energy sources that do not depend on the corpses of dead dinosaurs. I'm not super keen on nuclear energy, but it's better than using fission to make bombs. Plus, in SimCity, nuclear power plants are the way to go! :D

Let's see... convert liters to gallons... multiply by that number I can never remember... err... carry the 1... round to the nearest power of 12... then convert euros to dollars... erm... carry the 1 again... uh... divide by the lowest common denominator and factor in the... uh... thingy with the slash in the middle... multiply by pi, because the diameter of the tires are different over there... and then subtract 8 hours for the time zone change... DEAR GOD! That's 432 MILLION DOLLARS PER GALLON!

One of the things that make me glad I don't own a car (rain and cold on the other hand make me sad I don't own one).
Luckily I get much more mileage out of my scooter. :-D
