No one lives in New York and wants to see my show!!! Sadness!!!!!!!

~crickets chirping~

Oh, and if my post ever comes back, here is a summary. In Savannah, GA and no money to get to NY. Sorry and good luck!

If I lived anywhere near New York, I'd be there, Nick.

I’m stuck here in Cincinnati, OH with no time off to get to NY. So more apologies and wishes of good luck.

I'm sorry! I'm almost as far from New York as possible while still speaking English!

In fact, I think I'm actually farther from New York than the U.K. is.... maybe not.

I'm in suburban Connecticut. But this weekend I'll be in Vermont on the family vacation. What fun. I could conceivably make a Tuesday show, it's about an hour and a half train ride and I AM unemployed. I'll see what I can do.

I'll be in NYC on business that week but i'm not sure the days yet. If i'm in on this Tues, i'll try to wrap things up early and make the exhibit. Drinks available?

And...JK, wanna try the 8/21 show?

As ever,

Ha! That's hardcore James! Don't kill yourself! But if you do make it out, I'd be happy to buy you a cup of coffee after the show and shoot the s#+*! It'd be the least I could do if you motored all the way in from CT to see the show!!! :-)

Ha! No drinks at the show (it's a play), but it's only an hour long and drinks could easily ensue afterwards! Especially if you James make the same show, we could do a Paizo drink-out after the performance! :-)

My fault...thought it was an art exhibit. Well, tell me what the show is about {insert shameless plugging here} :)

Yeah, the 21st looks like the best available time for me, ACE. Since moving back to CT, I'm always looking for excuses to hit the city, so don't worry about it too much Nick. I'll see what I can do.

Cool!

The show is about Andrea Yates' tragic drowning of her five children and is a visceral exploration of madness and how the mentally ill are often stigmatized in our society and not given the help or understanding they so severely need.

The cool thing is that the play is taken from the court transcripts, her 911 phone call, and other public records and interspliced with sections of Euripides' "The Bacchae" (in which, Agave murders her own son while possessed by the Bacchic God Dionysus). The play is very tragic and fairly intense, not suitable for young audiences for sure.

That sounds really cool Nick. I go to plays quite a bit and I would go for sure if I er... wasn't in Australia.

Don't know if you remember a while back I asked you about length conventions for scripts? Well, I did end up writing a play (only a short one) and it's being put on in December. So I'll go to yours in spirit if you come to mine in spirit!

Good deal kahoolin! Hope your play gets a standing ovation my friend!!!

Nick, you should come do a show in Los Angeles. Then I could go see it.

What? "Second Biggest City in the United States" not good enough for you?

Ha! Perhaps someday soon Sean!!!

I assure you that I love the theatre, I love NY, and I'd love to see you act, Nick. However, NC is too far away from NYC for me to just pick up and go. (That and I'm 15, so the problems of not being able to drive on my own and not having the income to fly both stand in my way.)

No worries! Next time mayhaps!

I was born in NC! Durham! Go Tarheels!

any other 2 week strech and I would have been able to make it - I'm in Northeast CT - and I have a company picnic sat and wedding Sun otherwise I would be there on a side note - now that you're up this way the next time I'm going to the city I'll shoot you a message first

Hmnn... That play sounds almost like one of your adventures. Everyone dies or has an unhappy ending, and maddness comes! ~gives you a look of "You Wierdo you!"~ Um, everyone prepare to run.

(~grins and winks~ I have a feeling you will do great! Keep up the good work, you psycho!)

Do it! If I have a game going on in town that coincides, you'd be welcome!

What a pity that I can't come and see you, dude. How I do so love a depressing tragedy.

Even worse, I really wish I could come and kick the crap out of you at Gencon.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome play. I'll definitely do my best to come, and I'll try and bring some friends. Culture loves company!

Liberty's Edge

Good luck with the show tonight Nick!

I'm going to ride Kahoolin's excuse for why I can't make it....

Awesome! My whole family is catching the show on Saturday, but I'd still love to say hi real quick afterward if you don't have to run. I am hanging with them for the rest of the day, but it'd be great to meet ya at the very least before I take off! Hope you like the show!

I shall use the kilometres excuse too (as in eastern Australia). We are going to be visited by George W. though!

Meh, it's not all bad - we do get a public holiday (essentially) cos he's here - since they need to close down the city for three days for "security arrangements".

Maybe if you gave more notice I could make it over that way for the weekend (SW Michigan here). Of course, as per our arrangements at Origins, I'd have to stop and pick up the Scribe (Is that Craig Shackleton?!?!) on the way.

Sounds interesting. And Philly is only 2 hours away. Unfortunately, I swore to myself long ago that I would try my best never to set foot in the city or state of New York.

And why not? We'd certainly love to see you. We can all go out for vegetarian mexican food.

This play sounds awesome, i live in NY, but far away from the city, only been there once. Good luck with it

I'll probably be there on Sunday. How much are tickets?

El Skootro

P.S. Break a proverbial leg tonight.

Do'h to circumstances beyond my control, I'm missing Saturday- I'll be there Sunday.

If I were not in rehab I would definetly be there. I am actually only 25 min away. Sorry Nick. I wish I could be there.

I could actually make the 21st. Are tickets involved or is it a 'show up and sit down' event? I'm not a frequent theatre-goer, but I'd love an excuse to meet you and James. Too bad Freehold is going on a different day :(

Well, I missed the show, but I did get a chance to chat with Nick Logue a bit. It was great- and he looks so much like an old friend of mine it's uncanny...

I'm on board for the 21st. Anybody else going?

I've made plans to be away this week, as Nick didn't respond.

You know, we New York Paizonians shouldn't need an excuse to meet each other. We should just get together for a game, even if it's a one-shot. Who's with me?!
