I find the Pathfinder subscription page misleading. The text indicates a 40% subscription discount, while the Month-to-Month link says 30% off in bold red. Which is it? (I'll take the 40%, by the way!)

In addition, your FAQ indicates subscribers may choose shipping method. What are our options?

Thanks in advance. And thanks for the past five years of Dungeon & Dragon.

They both indicate 30%--can you post a link where you see 40%? I want to make sure that's corrected.

Thanks!

More questions that fit the OP: Are more options than month to month subscriptions going to be available? And when I check my subscriptions (I transferred over) I see I'm all set to recieve #2-4. Where's #1?

Nevermind! Found the 40% in the text and that's being corrected. Thanks for pointing it out!

And I still want the 40%, thank you very much!

Your options vary based on your location. Once you specify the address, you'll be presented with a pop-up customized to your address.

Currently, that's the only option we're planning to offer.

That's a display bug which we'll fix today. No worries—you'll get volume 1.

Vigil,

You will be getting #1. There have been a few technical issues (which we are looking into) that have affected how some subscriptions are showing up, but rest assured that when you make your choice at paizo.com/transition, you will get what you chose. : )

Thanks,

Somehow I am not recognized as subscriber. I hope for receiving the magazines anyway.

If I transfer my credits to Pathfinder, does that mean I'm a charter subscriber who'll get the free players guide?

Nope—Charter Subscribers have signed up for an ongoing subscription (often in addition to transferring credit), which ensures you'll get the Player's Guide and you won't miss an edition!

Ok, I just signed up for the ongoing subscription and the players guide about 10 minutes before I read this. So does this mean if I leave my order as is, I'll receive 2 players guides?

Apart from adventure paths and other DM material what does Pathfinder include? I know that personaly I thought that the comics were one of the most important parts of the magazines. By any chance are they still in Pathfinder? Also does the Savage Tide Adventure Path finish in the last issue of Dungeon?

If you signed up for a month-to month sub and purchased the Player's guide separately, you will get two copies. (On the other hand, you may want a few Player's Guides for your gaming group....)

We currently have no plans to include comics in Pathfinder.

Savage Tide will finish, as intended from the start, in issue #150, the final issue of Dungeon. It won't be truncated in any way.

Credits set to transfer to Pathfinder.

Pathfinder subscription set up.

Gentlemen, I've faith in you and your product. Between Paizo, Goodman, and Necromancer, I may have bought my last WotC product.

Will you have extra stuff bundled with various issues like there was with the old magazines? I'm also thinking that as someone who plans to use the content, I'd like some of your other products (or you to put new ones on the roadmap), as enhancements to this.

Specifically, tiles that can be used for encounters, miniatures/compleat encounter packs that fit in with the path, miniature scale encounter maps like in the wotc Fantastic Locations line, laminated regional maps (ideally that roll up instead of fold) , etc. I'd pay for these tie in products.

In addition, anything you want to toss into the magazine like cardstock monster counters (fold up for 3D would be cool), some of the maps mentioned above, etc would make me happy.

I'm thinking you have the opportunity here to offer a sampling of things in the magazine to entice purchases of larger tie in products, as well as the opportunity to create tie in products similar to what was done for Ptolus, which could allow your pathfinder campaigs to take on a premium campaign feel for those who want to invest in the extra table schwag.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm confused.

I transferred everything to Pathfinder and signed up for month-to-month. My subscription ledger now reads Pathfinder remaining issues 5; Dragon Remaining Issues 11; and Dungeon remaining issues 7.

Will the pre-paid funds for Dragon and Dungeon be used to pay for as many issues of Pathfinder as those funds will cover? Do credit-card charges kick in thereafter? Is the true number of "remaining issues" for the existing magazines 5?

We didn't have time to fix that box yet (you wouldn't believe the amount of code involved in that display). You're pretty much right on, except that we've already sent the subscriber lists for Dragon 355 and Dungeon 147 to the printer, so it's really 4 for Dragon and 3 for Dungeon.

I'll leave it to the editorial folks to answer the question of inserts, but I can affirm that you'll see tie-ins throughout the GameMastery product line (something we couldn't do with D&D)!

Thanks, Vic! All clear on my end. (You guys are having one hell of a day, aren't you?) Appreciate the help!

Unfortunately, this sounds like a module on a monthly basis. I liked having the choice in dungeon for small side quests or ideas for my campaign, but I usually pass on the modules because 1) they don't fit my game world and 2) the price makes it counter-productive for just gathering ideas. I'll reserve my final judgement for after I see the first couple of issues.

Course, that doesn't mean WOTC is saved my ranting. ;)

It appears that these are going to really be 6 part adventure/world/source books rather than a magazine. I see you guys taking this in two ways. You can either eventually create a generic spin off like David Hargarve’s world of Khass, which I really think you guys would be able to do and do well I might add. Or you are trying to be the new leader in the role playing field. Listening to my gut tells me that you guys are planning to be the latter, and 4th edition open beta testing starting this Sept 2007. Think about it, everyone is saying MMORPs are the way of the future. You guys are creating a massive multi-player offline role playing game. An awesome world designed by experts in the field, check. Guilds (ie. play groups) get together and get to go on set quests to level up and brag about how they did, check. An official meeting hall (paid WoTC membership web site) to sell and trade loot and stories from their quests, looking like a check. Monthly subscription dues to stay a part of the growing offline world, check. Judges will join membership guilds and offer their services for a fee to send players through the adventures, from what I have heard this is a check. Paizo becomes the world/rules developer for the eventual 4th edition D&D and the pathfinder subscriptions are its revenue stream. Wizards of the Coast canonize the best of the ideas on its quarterly patches… I mean rules/source books and online web site. WoTC gets to make cool collectable minis of all the new iconic creatures that are created from this effort. I think it really can be a win win for everyone. Steady revenue streams to keep the share holders happy. Well designed support for players and DMs who want it. An ability for talented designers and players to break into to the biz (MtG already taps its pro tour players for corp jobs). Awesome adventures for people on the fringes to pick up and play after the hard core players complete the 6 month story arc. It could really keep the game I know not only alive but also vibrant and growing. I wish you success and I think it will work. I just wish that everyone would stop belly aching and see that this is really the dawn of a new and exciting age.
