Sorry about that Bub. I am almost done with work, so I should be home in 15 min. That just leaves walking the dog.

I tried to get in on the chat twice tonight but my friggin' laptop kept stalling out loading the page. :o(

Dark Archive RPG Superstar 2013 Top 32

Is the chat server down or something? I get to the screen with "Chat Loading" and the little spinning doohickey... but it just kept spinning for like 2 minutes. I tried reloading the page, but no luck. Anyone else able to get on?

The tubes are clogged. I'm assuming a network engineer applied some Draino out there, as you were able to get on. :P

Charles Evans! I think I may have found a way to help out with that niggly page file issue (this is also for anybody that's finding their browser lagging). Type "/clear" in the text entry field and press the Enter key or click on the Send button. That should clear out the text on the screen, and hopefully help out with the lag you're getting.

Lilith:

Unless you have recently modifed the chatroom, I have tried this, but found that it does not modify the PF usage in the slightest. (Oddly, and this may mean something to you, clicking on the little green arrows for 'refresh' in my version of Internet Explorer does sometimes cut down the PF usage, although sometimes to lower levels than others.)

Many thanks for the hard working that you are doing, giving thought to these problems in between your day job, your home time and your gaming time.

Is it only with Internet Explorer that you have these issues, or have you tried other browsers?

Lilith wrote:

As far as I know, our home computer here only came with Internet Explorer, and I prefer not (probably from technophobia) to go looking around for alternative (less well known) browsers that may not be supported by the 'repair crews' of our local computer shops if/when something does go wrong. At least with Internet Explorer I know that there may be hundreds of other people out there known to have the same problems, so at least the local store is likely to know how to deal with problems when it arise, and theoretical 'improvement' occasional updates from microsoft.

You mean they're watching D-War?!? Really?!? On purpose?!?

Those guys are braver than I thought.

Spoiler:
Disclaimer: I've never seen the movie. I merely make this supposition based on all available evidence. Although, I guess I'll have to go watch it this weekend.

We could have planned to watch a decent flick, but half the fun is mocking it unmercifully.

UNMERCIFULLY.

I'm just gonna pop on my Golden Girls boxed set and play along as if I'm watching the movie the rest of them are watching.

Daigle,

If you threw a party—invited everyone you knew—you would see the biggest gift would be from me, and the card attached would say "Thank you for being a friend."

The best part was when Porkins bought it after crashing into the hi-rise. 15 minutes of plot, an hour of blowing up LA :)

You mean WATCHED!

We watched "Dragonwars". It was the most surreal piece I've seen since college art show days at Carnegie Mellon.

Oh! Cool.

While Dragon Wars was unlikely to broaden anyone's intellectual, artistic, or emotional horizions, we all learned several valuable lessons:

1.) The FBI has a covert section dedicated to paranormal activity, well informed about dragon sightings. The agents staffing this section include cold-blooded killers.

2.) A giant snake can wander downtown Los Angeles for hours before the authorities take notice.

3.) Alien beasts of burden loaded with 500-year old rockets can shoot the crap out of modern battle tanks.

4.) Supernaturally generated shields are not only proof against bullets, but tank shells.

5.) Apache helicopter wanna-be's are one of the only weapon systems in the military's arsenal capable of effectively damaging giant snakes.

6.) After fleeing from giant monsters, the beach is a good place to stop and make out.

7.) You can't really feel the IQ points siphoning off as you watch.

Download? There is no download for the chatroom! (You may want the latest browser of your flavor of choice, however.)

Hmmm. When I open the site, using Safari, I get a note "Chat loading, please wait", and that hangs.

It can take a while to load, then you should get it grayed out and an entry box asking for your nickname.
