Zenith Trajectory - Pushing the right path

Shackled City Adventure Path

So my FantasyGrounds group has recently started on Zenith Trajectory. The umber hulk attack went well, and pretty much as needed/planned.

The problem I'm seeing is that they're now too focused on finding out the motive behind the attack. Obviously, they're not going to get to the crux of the matter this early. They've recieved their invitation to the Cusp of Sunrise--and I just don't see them accepting Celeste's request for them to hunt down Zenith.

Can anyone help me out here? What would you suggest as a better way to get them on the main plot?

Well, I didn't use Zenith as the hook. The PCs had gotten in good with the goddess of the sea's temple after helping with Flood Season (change in gods for my campaign). A messenger from the goddess asked them to deal with the kua-toa. It wasn't til later that they learned of Zenith's presence via the prisoners in the cells.

I'd let them investigate a little and have them run into a dead end and/or only find romours leading into the next module such as a disgruntal bar patron commoner "ay it's just a ploy by Lord Navalant(actually Valantru) to have an excuse to raise our taxes (to fund the creation of the soul cages), if questioned in his next public address he'd reply its necessary to fund the MTA becuase we're all not as invulnerable as we'd think we are living in these walls" Then the following module the PC's realize the commoners theory was correct.

Sorta like Bush raising taxes to fund Homeland Security
