Okay, I did some math. It's a little sketchy because I had to guess at a few ages (i.e. we have a group of 4 between 28-33). However in the end, around 275 gamers ages have been reported (so far).
All told, we are 8,106 years old. Which means our average age is 29.5.
I didn't look at gender pecentage which would have been interesting, but I'm supposed to be working...
Thanks for the replies! It's very cool to hear about our community.

I (35) DM a bi-weekly group of two players in Eberron, presently running RHoD.
The players are 40 and 34.
In a once-a-month-game I am a player.
The DM is 41, players are 34, 35(me), 38, 46 and of one I don't know the age. This is the only group with a woman.
Remembers me of my "Average age of a Dungeon reader" thread...

Nice thread !!
I have been playing the SCAP for the last 6 months, once every two weeks (we're in a sidetrek after we got Zenith back) with :
- male 35-36 : DM
- male 33-35 : Paladin 6 / Ranger 1st aasimar
- male 28-30 : Hexblade 4 (5?) / fighter (?) / kensai 1st (2 ?) human
- male 27-29 : wizard 7 tiefling
- female 22 : cleric 8 of Selune human
- male 35 (the 11th of september, me) : scout 5 / ranger 3 human
I sometimes play (once every 2 months) with old friends :
- male 35 next week (me) as a DM
- male 35, female 36, male 35, male 33 and sometimes somebody else (around 34-36).
After several adventures (5th level), they have arrived at Diamond lake for the AoWAP.
I intend to run the STAP, playing about once every 2-3 weeks.
So far :
- male 35 (me),
- male 35,
- male 33 (probably),
- male 28 (probably),
- male 36 (maybe),
- male 34 (maybe),
looking for 1-2 other players if some of the above don't want to play...

ME DM:32
Players: 13, 13, 14, 16, 18, 42
The 42 yearold is the dad of the rest of the players.
I have DMed since 1985 with 6 or 7 different groups.
I taught almost everyone I ever played with how to play with the exception of 2 groups in 2000.
I have 2 groups that I started then moved away and they still play.
I have just taught the 18 Y/O above how to DM and will be a PC for the first time since 2000 tonight.
I never care about my spelling or gramar.

We play my "regular" campaign once a month (although the last couple of months have been a bit more messy than usual). This game group, which I DM consists of:
Male, 29 - gaming 18 years (me)
Male, 28 - gaming 18 years (my friend)
Male, 25 - gaming 15 years (my brother)
Female, 25 - gaming a few months (my brother's fiance)
Male, 21 - gaming 15 years (yeah, i know ... my other brother)
I also DM another game about once every two months, which consists just of me and my two brothers.
I'm a member (sometimes DM but not currently) of another large group which meets roughly once every two months, and includes a number of sporadic players - including myself currently.
Male, 28 (current DM for the past year or so and my friend from the other group)
Male, 34 (sometimes DM)
Female, 32 (the above guy's wife)
Male, 34? (occasional DM)
Male, 29 (me again)
Male, 28 (my first DM, but he doesnt DM in this game)
Male, 29 (recently started gaming again after an 11 year break)
Male, 25 (my brother)
Female, 24 (the current DMs girlfriend)

I envy all of you that can have more then one game. Downeast Maine just does not have the population or the gaming interest to support that much gaming.
<Grumble grumble> Don't feel so bad Tim, and TRUST ME when I say it could be worse. You could find yourself stuck in....
ok ok sorry I will stop ranting and raving now.
Be safe all.

My group for Savage Tide:
Me, Morgan (DM,): 26 - Played since 12.
My wife, Anna (DM of other games, currently playing Avanti Druid/Barbarian): 24 - Played since 18.
Freind, Andy (Human Sorceror with cold focus): 21 - Played since 14.
Friend, Alex (Ice Troll Fighter): 22 - Played since 19 at least.
Friend, Michelle (Dwarf Cleric): 23 - Played since 19 at least.
Of the local gamers, the rest all fit in those age ranges.

I'm thankful that I get to play in more than one game. What I am envious of is people who get to play once a week (or more!) On paper I play twice a month, but with one thing or another it often ends up being once a month, if that.
And the other thing I'm envious of is all those lucky people who's partners game with them - hold onto those ones, they're keepers! My wife doesn't particularly like D&D, the fact that I play it, or a number of the people I play with ... it can make things very difficult...
I'd be interested to hear what other people's partners feel about gaming? And their partner playing if they don't?

My wife puts up with it. She puts up with my stories about the game. She played once and could not get into it.
My 8 Y/O little girl wants to play badly. I DM for solo games for her sometimes.
She sits in on my games and gets me Minis, books, drinks etc..
Sometimes I have her move the minis around for me.
She often whispers things that she thinks I should do with NPCs.

I don't get to play hardly; I've got a 3 y.o. and a 1 1/2 y.o., but I might start again soon. I just don't want to be the guy who's always jacking up the game by never showing up.
But the Savage Tide is calling me hardcore, and I have 3 episodes, soon 4, and I feel like it's enough for me to have a handle on what's occurring.
I also want to see that Apocalypto movie before I get cranking on it.
My wife was never into gaming before she met me; she's played a few times. I remember she read all the Freeport adventures and said, "these are good. We should play these!" She knows it's part of what I'm about, so she wouldn't mess with me about it.
She loves video games; much much more than I do. She gets D&D Playstation and Everquest Xbox stuff so we can play together.
She also likes a lot of sports. More than me, again. One guy told me that she was kindof wasted on me in that respect.
I can't wait for my kids to play. I don't know if my son will; I think he's going to be a jock; where he got that from I have no idea. My daughter probably will, though. She's into books. My son likes books too, but he's more into dismantling them.

I was reading another thread in which several posters happened to indicate their age. This got me thinking about my own D&D (and RPG) experiences. When I was 9 I played several RPG's with my cousin (he was 12). Just two players neither of whom is mature enough to even see a PG-13 move. Yeah it was hard. We stopped playing after several months and I never really thought about it again until a little more than a year ago. Now I'm back into the swing of things and it's so much more fun playing a mature version of the D&D I liked all those years ago.
So I'm curious about what experiences you all are having out there. What's the average age of your gaming group? How many people? How gender mixed are your groups? Whatever other information you'd like to relate will be fascinating I'm sure. To start it off:
I'm 31. I play in two games, one as DM.
In the first game there are currently 5 players and 1 DM (though we've been up to 7 players). Two players are women. Average age: ~33. Max age: 42; min age: 22. We play once every other week.
Second game which I DM has four players and me. One woman (she plays in the other game as well). Average age: ~30. Max age: 42; min age: 17. We play once a week.
Welcome back! :-)
We weigh in at nine "steady" players, with a few who can only make "camio" apperences due to schedualing conflicts. (we play from 8am to 1pm, not great for anyone but nightowls)
average age at 27? or there abouts.
Currently playing Rappan Athuk from Necromancer Games in the Greyhawk setting.
Latest quote from the game: The group is moving through the Ground level graveyard of the dungeon...
"Bring out your dead!"
"Dude, that was horrible!"
"Ok, Bring out your Undead!"
*chorus of groans*
:-)
