Out of general curiousity, how many players are there in your group? What is the total number of characters including active NPCs?
I've got three players, although I'd prefer to have four or five, and 4 PCs. No NPCs, yet.
Seven players, one who is fairly inactive, and one NPC (Melinde), so 8 total (1 PC each). Thinking of formally dropping the inactive one, and adding two more players, making it nine total.

5 PCs and one revolving cohort... as part of a special "Adventuring Guild Leader" thing I let one of my players do, he can swap out his cohort with other lieutenants in the guild he formed.
PCs:
Male Halfling Wizard
Male Shifter Monk
Female Elf Sorceror
Female Half-Elf Druid
Male Changeling Rogue
We were having a tough time healing-wise until the rogue (guild leader) swapped out his soulknife cohort for a cleric. Now player deaths aren't happening at the rate they used to.

I started with four, and two have been extremely unlucky, my halfling cleric got his head caved in by a rival hextorian bounty hunter after theldrick, and the other a chaotic evil warlock was put through the ringer betrayed by everyone before being put down by Allustan, my NPC usually keeps the group on track, barely

Wow, Eredain... youse are a more patient DM than me.
We started a couple months back with three players, and they were all gestalt characters--a half-orc druid-barbarian, a changeling rogue-fighter, and a changeling wizard-bard.
Now, we'll have two more players and their characters joining us at the next session, just as they're about to lay Alastor Land's bones to rest. Two of the original characters have been retooled as single-class, and the third replaced her character with a new one. So, now we'll have a well-rounded group of:
*CRIN, Changeling rogue/fighter multiclass (going for warshaper prestige class), replacing the changeling wizard-bard
*MICHAEL ARNO, Human cleric of Dol Arrah ("Exalted" character with the much-maligned Vow of Poverty, headed for the radiant servant prestige class)
*TOOK, Changeling rogue (with all the Races of Eberron substitution levels, making him the effective and ever-changing "face" of the group)
*THOKK, Half-orc druid (focused on both summoning natural allies to assist the rogue/fighter on the front lines and backup healing)
*(Unnamed), Warforged artificer (trapfinder, blaster, and utility caster)

We're doing the standard 4 PC thing. A human artificer, warforged fighter, changling rogue/fighter, changling wizard. They did The Whispering Cairn with an NPC elf favored soul, but I took him out when the party was mature enough to get by on their own.
They still need a healer--the artificer burned through 40 charges of a wand of Cure Light Wounds (1/3 were successful) in the Keeper's caves in 3FoE.

Last night, I just DMed the 11th weekly session of my Age of Worms campaign. I have six players. They are all regulars, but everyone has missed at least one session (I actually missed session 9 myself. . . another player took over for me, to run Challenge of Champions III for the rest of the group. See how good my players are! They don't even need a DM!).
They are currently:
NG human fighter 4
N halfling cleric 4
N elven wizard 3
CN elven ranger 4
CN half-elven rogue 4
CE human dread necromancer 4

We have 7 players + the DM, although that might drop down to 6 players in a month or so, as one of us is contemplating moving away for a year due to a job opportunity.
Although since we are only 2 sessions into the Whispering Cairn, it would be cool if the returning player was back in time for the battles with Dragotha and Kyuss.
