Let me get this out of the way now for Dungeons 129 through 135.
What are the exact release dates (and times) of each of the online supplements? I am DMing Age of Worms and I need accurate information... immediately.
On a related note, it has not escaped my attention that you have ignored instructions to drop everything and release these in a timely manner (by that I mean within seconds of ech issue rolling off the presses). This is unacceptable.
Please adjust your attitude and work ethic accordingly, or they will be adjusted for you.
Have a nice day,
Jack
:)

Pfffftt... bwahahahahahah!!!
If that's a joke, nice try. ;)
If you're serious... well, you'd better re-think of what a deadline is, and which bunch of Murphy's Laws will get in between ('cause they WILL get).

I do find it intriguing that some games are literally on top of the release schedule of the magazine. I started AoW two months ago and the PCs are not even done with The Whispering Cairn. Granted, four hours a week is hardly the level of gaming we were once capable of.
So, yeah, where's my free downloads of the next year's worth of Dungeon! ::wink::

In case it wasn't clear -- I was definitely joking.
But I am also poking a bit of fun at our rush to ask about the supplements month after month.
Jack
Yeah, I guessed that. ;)
Unfortunately these days - in another and totally unrelated forum - I'm kinda bashing my head against the proverbial wall to explain the most basic rules of behaviour (and in my native language, not in this poor English) and kindness towards other users and the forum's staff.
So I'm probably overly cautious about clearing things out.
Again, if I could add to the thread, is it possible to enclose to the magazine all the minis needed for the adventures, with the uniques expecially crafted? Maybe for a small additional fee, let's say a couple of bucks (again, the euro change favors my wallet)? My players would like that... :)

I play online, 3 hours a week. Online is generally slower than normal. I started Whispering Cairn soon after that issue, and they're currently outside Blackwall Keep, watching lizardfolk...
That said, plenty of people play more/faster than I. If they're relying on conversion information that is advertised as part of the series, I think it's disrespectful to post stuff making fun of them asking for such material. Just because it's extra material to some, doesn't mean mocking the needs of others is amusing for some of us.
I'm really not sure why this mocking topic is continually retread.

Lady Aurora |

This mocking topic is continually retread because posters need to constantly be reminded that the world doesn't revolve around them. The Paizo staff works hard to publish their magazines and further adds to their load by posting suppliments and answering inquiries on these messageboards (along with GenCon,accessories, and oh...I don't know, running a company!). I think consumers get a little spoiled by constantly demanding more and more attention/products (all at the highest level of quality, mind you, or else Paizo gets flooded with complaints). I'm running the AoW path myself and being a DM for over a quarter of a century I know about the thirst for detail and the passion for the game but all that needs to tempered with the knowledge that Paizo is doing the best that they can to accomodate its customers and quell a serious threat of mob mentality.
It's fine to ask about additional information necessary for one's game in a timely manner, but demanding tones and an attitude of obligation have no place on these messageboards.
You complain that its disrespectful to mock others' requests. I say it can be just as disrespectful to make certain requests in the first place in anything but the most humble tones. We've got people wanting to know details about adventures not even written yet. As soon as there's even a rumor of some product (Fiendish Codex sound familiar?) questions flood in, asking about details and if so-and-so's favorite will be included. There's nothing wrong in that, as long as posters remember that Paizo has a huge job to do and they're not obligated to give equal value to often incidental inquiries.

See, your whole post is predicated on the idea that someone is continually badgering Paizo. They're not.
You're also reiterating the same tired position that Paizo doesn't have to deliver on their promises.
If you want to reply on a topic where someone is rude to Paizo, I can understand, but this topic isn't that. It mocks other posters that have a need, it's mean spirited, and serves no purpose other than to congratulate each other for being good fanboi's and defending a company that's not being attacked.

Personally, I thought Tatterdemalion's post was pretty funny. Although I don't think Paizo is technically being "badgered" (or at least hasn't been since the AoW Overload), I still do see fairly frequent postings that are filled fair to the brim with entitlement.

I didn't see this as mean-spirited at all. This was in the class of "poking a little harmless fun at ourselves", not mocking somone specific. Given that this particular thread has been fairly light-hearted so far, it's sort of interesting that you're the first one here that's resorted to name-calling (which is, by nature, mean-spirited and demeaning). People can be positive and supportive of Paizo's efforts without being a "fanboi" after all.

If the original poster wanted to be clever and funny he should have bumped the far better "129 Online Supplement" thread.
It's mainly that the board isn't that busy, so when a derivative of this thread pops up constantly (far more than the complaints of lateness do), it just gets tedious. There are plenty of folks that need FR or Eberron conversions, and the preachy nature of these "jokes" isn't really conducive to anything beneficial.
If you don't like this thread don't reply to it. Contrary to myth, trolls love flames and hate cold shoulders.
Right, it works both ways. I've posted to this thread saying (politely IMO) that it's not funny for those that need such online updates, and got the typical reply of "free", so replied in kind. My posts serve no more purpose than the others. That said, if this were a post asking where a supplement was, the same posters would be threadcrapping there and feeling it appropriate, so I don't see my posts asking them to stop the behavior as any worse. At least I acknowledge my position.

Ironically though their posts bump the reminder that readers love online supplements and can't wait for them. ;)
No such thing as bad publicity I guess. I just think this post isn't worthy of bumping, especially when it's compared to the 129 thread.

Lady Aurora |

Sheesh! Some people can't take a joke.
I think Tatterdemalion stated it well in the post saying that this thread was definitely a joke and (partially, at least) intended to poke fun at the readers' voracious appetite for more, more, more.
I personally view it as harmless fun. Those who find it offensive might be better suited not responding at all or better yet - ignore the entire thread.

Lady Aurora |

btw, if I'm a "fanboi" as you so rudely accused, I'm a pretty lousy one. (1) I didn't even know what a "bump" was or that such things existed until just last week. (2)I don't even play 3.5 ed. (3) I've been VERY vocal in my criticisms of Dragon magazine. You have to search my posts pretty thoroughly to find a positive comment about that magazine.
I never implied that Paizo was being "attacked" nor did I act out of any obligation to "defend" them. Consumers are perfectly welcome to criticize things they don't like about Paizo's products/service. And I'm not saying Paizo shouldn't be held accountable for any "promises" it makes - though I'd love to hear your list of promises they have supposedly broken. But online suppliments are free and I consider them an extra (above and beyond the call of duty) kind of thing that Paizo is under no particular obligation to provide (other than the fact that they graciously said they would). A little patience and decorum is not too much to expect (or from your perspective, perhaps it is). I personally believe Paizo is trying its best to provide these products and services in a timely manner. Some people can't be satisfied regardless of efforts to do so.
But... such is life.
I choose to live mine with a little more understanding. I, for one, appreciate a little bit of humor and light-hearted ribbing; especially when these boards "slow down" and there's really nothing productive to comment on. Which brings me to my final point, there are plenty of threads on these boards talking about topics that I consider inappropriate and superfulous blabber; I simply ignore them. Not only do I not reply to them, I don't read them in the first place. No one is forcing anyone else to read or reply to any topic that doesn't appeal to him/her.

Tatterdemalion |

Getting more serious than I intended to...
I certainly wasn't going after people for attacking Paizo. I also wasn't trying to weigh in on Paizo's obligation (or lack thereof) to providing the supplements.
What I have observed is that the supplements don't seem to come out until a week or two after an issue hits newstands.
So, for this month: When will the supplement be online? Answer: probably a week or two after the issue hits bookstores.
Next month: When will the supplement be online? Answer: probably a week or two after the issue hits bookstores.
Month after that: When will the supplement be online? Answer: probably a week or two after the issue hits bookstores.
Month after that...
Hopefully we start to see a pattern and adjust our posting appropriately :)
Regards all,
Jack

In the US we already get those -- don't you?
