I dunno how this change will effect my Scarni and Qadira characters.
My Rogue, has made a living through theft and getting items into or out of area's, hell his wayfinders been specifically designed for this purpose.
Now, mixing with legitamite traders might work as a good cover and make smuggling easier, but will there be a place for me, a tengu whom until the Scarni came along, was a simple criminal, but now he is part of something bigger that makes use of his skills.
I like the changes made thus far to PFS, but now the question is, when the dust settles will there be a place for my crime loving rogue or pirate swashbuckler.

see, I loved the idea of individual faction missions, it also sometimes meant wheeling and dealing, and doing deals so that a character (like my rogue) with slight of hand would help a say silver crusade paladin.
But what annoyed me was that some missions were almost impossible, but thats the same withe the new missions too.
I think what needs to happen is keep the current missions (I can live with em they are good fun) but allow the GM more "room" to make decisions as to their success.
A mission leaps to mind (can't recall the name) but the long and the short, you had to convince the guy of one thing, but the only way for success was effectively to panda to him. Our group was not pander's, hell we had real hero's and my shady rogue, we threatened, and in the end I knocked the sod out. but this did not fulfill the secondary success mission cause we did not panda to him.
so if they could maybe look at multiple ways of achieving the secondary conditions that would be great
with us, yeah we did not care for him

I am a true lover of the rogue, I use a TWF Skill Monkey hybrid, my first, died, he was a dwarf, my current is a Tengu he is great.
Couple of "how to " video's are
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLOO--vHuEQ
basically, follow the video, or check out the "advice" thread, sadly this does not limit to PFS so you will still need to check out the Society Guide and the additional Resources page.
Advice thread - Classes
http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2m612?Guide-to-the-Class-Guides
I have found "trentmonks" guide to be very useful, for reference,
My Level 3 Rogue (level 1 will have the same Stats)
Strength - 14
Dexterity - 18
Constitution - 10
Intelligence - 12
Wisdom - 9
Charisma - 14
Feats Weapon Finese and Two Weapon Fighting (using Rogue Talent "combat")
This allows my rogue a good damage dealer but also the skill set to help out in talky missions and also skill missions, ie Disable Device is not an issue.
Now would I change the build, TBH I might drop a rank f dex or strength for the con, but I am truely happy wit this guy atm.
The Big question is archetypes, I don't like multiclassing, so I try and find something about the one class, in this case Rogue that I can love.
I have the Knife Fighter Archtype is great, using daggers - currently he at level 3 has 2 daggers hitting for 1d4 (not much) but for his sneak attack thats 2d8.
so if I land both hits (which is not that rare) I am doing 2d4+4d8 damage if I am flanking or someother way sneak attacking. if you need more advice just shout.

Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening
I need some advice, I have a level 3 rogue, (Knife Master), now he is dual wielding Sword Breakers (purely for the 1D4+1D8 when sneak attacking).
The Sword Breaker has a nice +4 to Disarm, now the really big question is,
as you can "Attempt Disarm in place of a melee attack",
1) does this simply mean I could attempt 2 x disarms? or am I wrong (is it a combined attack maybe, where I get the combined bonus from the daggers or something I have not thought of?)
Do I get any bonus's etc for sneak attack to a Disarm (I can't find anything, but that does not mean a thing lol)
and, is Disarm worth it? or should I wait til I level and pick up Improved Disarm????
Finally Weapon Choices, there is alot of info about these, I found one thread that was focusing on Assasins and Knife Master, and the kulkri, but the problem I have is that what weapons are Daggers?
Is it better to have a 1d4 weapon for a 1d8? I was sold on the Knife Master when I was able (or atleast told by an experienced player that I was able to) to hold a 1d6 weapon (Wakizashi) however I believe this is now incorrect (Wakizashi, from my reading and interpretation is not a dagger, or atleast not a knife proficient weapon, meaning 1d6+1d4).
When it comes to the damages of weapons, and if 1d4+1d8 is better than a 1d6+1d4 I get completely lost sorry for the questions.
Will Johnson wrote: If it makes things simpler, the Bicorn is not allowed whatsoever (see additional resources).
actually there is a pathfinder society boon that allows you to buy it
YEar of the Giant Pink Fluffy Bunny
the other thing is peoples interpretations of raw, I remember the other night I had 4 people bickering over how Subdural damage happened (And whether once you loss the HP in subdural if the excess became "rea" damage)
Out came 4 rule books, and low and behold, people came up with 2 very distinct answers from the same paragraph of text...the GM solved it by the catch phrase "He's not dead jim"
Auke Teeninga wrote: 5) Pay the total cost of the item and select another item that is within the cost limit sadly I agree, the boon does not say "and pay the difference" potentially get an item you have that's worth 2500 use the boon for that, and the "cash" you paid for the other item put towards your mossy disk.
what!! Mike was allowed Holidays, sheesh, ya know these guys are starting to get demanding, they want holidays, well given the fun He and the team has provided, I guess thats ok! hope he had a great time.

Well I read elsewhere ages ago (regarding the change to the method weapon cords applied) that people could rebuild, but this was something you needed to discuss with the GM or the VC/VL.
Frankly if a change radically alters your class build, ask someone in "authority" which in my case would first be my VC, and chances are he would agree that since the change altered how my character operated a rebuild is warranted. Paizo cannot really authorize this enmass, because it is a case by case basis.
On the grounds of rudeness, some people are rude, if I stopped buying or doing something because someone who worked for that company was rude to someone I would have no passtimes whatso ever. there are much better ways to deal with negative attitudes than boycoutting a product, afterall you stop buying, noone knows why, noone knows if you did.
This is symptomatic of the wider society, alot of people run from issues, cannign or stopping associating with people rather than confront the issue. If someone is being rude, stand up. If I saw a post where someone was rude, I tell them, via a post or preferrably a private message, that they did not reply in a nice tone, that their behaviour needs to bbe better, etc. But I also need to realise that this is my opinion and my perception of their comment, and may not be actually what is meant.
Fianally you mention the faction missions, personally I am loving the season 5 faction missions, they are now to me making it feel like a proper mission, sometimes I am given hints, and if not, I need to know my faction to play the faction right, as Qadira I am always looking for deals, as Andoran I am out to free slaves, and punish the wicked, as Scarni, I am after personal wealth, and wealth for the Faction.
In the old system, at times it was "do this" and it was pretty obvious, or hell it was totally ambiguous. now I need to think, but once again this is a GM thing, know your group, I know my group often has a nooby who's rather young, as such,I will give him more hints for his faction mission, others whom are more experienced, they can work it out.
you other issue regarding the factions and having a character really comes down to you and your VC, if you don't have a character for that faction, why not? have you raised your concern with the VC? are you the only one in a group of 6 who has an issue? are you offering to organise or run a session? there are lots of methods to solve this delimmer, and none of em are Paizo's fault, there will be factions that you will suit your characters faction that mine won't my attitude is, get over it, it all works out in the end.
What this TL:DR domes down to is this, you raise alot of issues, not one of them is something that could not have been solved without simply talking to someone. Understand that this game is designed to be played by any number of the 7 billion people on this planet, nothing is personal, sometimes those upto 7 billion will work out a way to break the game, it has to be fixed, this means an exception has to be made, if you are caught inadvertently in it, then talk, don't hold it in and then rage quite.
Finally, your lack of enjoyment, hardly seems to be a result of the missions or the scenario's but rather your attitude that the game is not what you want. in which case, talk to the VC, make positive posts to Paizo, but don't rage quite and whinge, it does nothing but paints you in the bad light, which you do not deserve.
in a rp heavy combat light scenario (in fact it had only 2 combats in it) you, as GM almost get a TPK against a full group of 6....... the only reason they live is you gimp your rolls or roll really bad when they needed it!
(This has happened to me)
or
the party spends 2 hours doing the rp component for a backstory of a scenario meaning that a scenario that should take 4 hours max...gets pushed out to 6 or 7 hours lol
I appreciate the OP feelings however have to say I would not name any of my PC's those names, but thats my choice.
The issue I would point out is that you never know when someone will literally walk in, also you have religious beliefs, and just different upbringing, ie the name Herpes, is not just a word, it is an illness that people whom have suffer through, and I dunno if they would find it funny, and I doubt you would know everyones medical history who plays at your table.
My Boon is being saved for my Erol Flynn wannabe Swashbuckler, hehehe he should be great fun
a Cthulhu cleric of Cthulhu muhahaha.
cool thanks made sense but I wanted to know if it was in writing, still new at this here lol.
Silly question, where does it say I can't charge a Wizard for the spell, in the CRB it states "wizards often charge for this" but I can't recall of find something saying "you cannot charge for X" or can't make money off people!
thanks for the recap, also in the inner sea guide there is a history of the world including a timeline of important events, does not cover the pathfinder activities since 4710 of course.
this gives me less than 24 hours to download and build a class for my PFS meeting ARGH lol
I am a new PFS player and I am sorry I disagree with you whole heartily, My groups and myself jump for joy when we get an item during a scenario, or find a new item, infact we worship items like +1 swords etc (I remember the part where my PFS guys rolled off to get bows in one scenario)
I think it depends on your group some will be min maxers, some will just kill for killing sake and not get involved in the story, and then there are the others the RP'ers etc,
I thought that, but since it only talked of books so I secretly hoped, thanks heaps for the reply mate
Good Day
I have checked the additional Resources, it only addresses the use of the books and races, so I am wondering for Pathfinder Society, what "Cards" and Apps are PFS legal?
I am thinking of the Condition Cards and the Buff Cards. The buff cards have a bonus spell, but I don't know if it's a PFS legal spell.
I am also looking at using the crit cards/iCrit app and am wondering if it's legal, it adds abit of fun to the game, however I suspect probably not cause the app/cards appears to give a boon per se on a crit, ie
"Piercing - Double Damage and target drops whatever is being help (1 item)"
The Double Damage is somewhat typical, but the item is new, and in PFS might break the game depending on the NPC that is being fought, what is the actual ruling if one?
nor the extortion or blackmail aspects, the threatening, and other acts of violence, I mean seriously you don't just murder thats just silly sheesh.
Even since my main Character is built purely for combat, I try and get away from murder as much as possible I find very few are murder hobo's
Well correct me if I am wrong but reading the boons themselves they only apply to those factions. I think common sense applies or atleast when I gm 'd it recently I used the stance "i get the xp and gold but not the boons cause my guys sczarni".
looks great, but I need a few tips, for items that you enter into the bought equipment, it does not seem to update on the equipment sheet.
The equipment buy is a little small too for some items. but apart from that it's awesome.
Looks nice, I will check it out and load up my data, many thanks, might need to add more sheets, I have 20 toons lol
awesome thanks for that, I was going round and round in circles getting confused and not able to make heads or tales of anything I was reading lol
Good Evening
Can I ask clarification on how to add additional spells to the spellbook. In the CRB it states Wizards can copy from scrolls, does this also apply for these additional classes? Especially with Magus' whom are effectivly Wizard Derivatives?
Many Thanks
so in my case, my level 1 did not make it out of the halls alive, as such, can I replay it with other/new level 1's?

FLite wrote: For example, you need item X to stop the town guard from turning into monsters at midnight. The merchant won't sell it to you, at least at a price you can afford. You steal the item, perhaps with the intent of returning it after you are done.
Fine, chaotic, but fine.
This is understandable, the idea is for a higher purpose etc etc
FLite wrote: Counter Example: During the course of the adventure the party encounters a poor family. They have stumbled over the object the party needs. It is pure gold. They offer to sell it to the party, but only if the party will pay more than the local fence, as they have not eaten in several days and they desperately need the money. The rogue says "lets talk about this out side, guys." And then while everyone is distracted sneaks back inside, steals it, comes back out, and say "never mind, I got tired of you arguing and bought it, lets go."
Pretty evil.
My issue is that this would still be considered chaotic, maybe distasteful and not socially acceptable, however if the family is really that poor, they would accept money offered, and maybe food etc. the withholding of the item, for a higher price than the fence when the item is vital for the mission, is by itself not a moral act.
I think the problem is people are getting "criminal" and Moral and Evil all confused.
A criminal act is not necessarily a immoral or Evil act.
From reading the CRB and PFS Guide the only evil deeds I could find mentioned
Murder of an Innocent
Desecration of a Corpse
Torture
Wanton Destruction
Now when I play my new rogue (old one died, level drain at level 1 lol, something about a wraith not liking how I was able to get all the required items in his tomb while disabling the traps) he is playing the borderline Criminal, he is not evil by my reckoning, but defiantly morally neutral and would steal from a poor family if the matter required it, he might, if the matter warranted it leave fair compensation, provided of course there was a valid reason to why the NPC was holding out and they were not being by my reckoning evil or unreasonable in withholding the item.
my argument is "there are times when you have to do the wrong thing to do what is right".

Alrighty, so is there a basic list of evil acts, for example, so far it has been mentioned here about decapitating a body being possibly evil (though some disagree) and that the better option would be to burn a body.
Now In a scenario with my chaotic Neutral Magus we came across a body of a doppelganger, and I was told by 2 GM's that to burn the corpse was an evil act, I had 2 motives for doing so, 1 prevent to corpse being used to falsify another persons death (misuse a corpse) and also give the body a proper send off as it was being stored in a storage room and was being preserved.
Then another thread talks about theft being allowed, Once more on a Rogue of mine I was denied such activities (a bar brawl occurred, and when the place was abandoned, I was not allowed to acquire anything valuable around the place...it is evil)
Given that the PFS guide and the rule book does not give context to what constitutes an evil act I was wondering if there was any threads that might?
Or what is peoples views on how they judge an evil act, my argument is that a criminal act is not necessarily an evil act.
but is stealing not an evil act and as such against the Pathfinder Society hence doing so in PFS would result in dismissal from the the society for the character?
np thanks for the clarification.

Good Morning/Evening/Afternoon (got it all covered)
I am asking a question that will be answered very quickly I believe,
If I have a Ring of Spell Knowledge and Copy the Bard's Arcane Spell list for Cure Light Wounds, as a Magus does that allow me to use Wands of Cure light Wounds.
The threwad that got me thinking was
http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2p5be?Ring-of-Spell-Knowledge-and-Scrolls-in-PF S
the Ring itself contains the following wording
Quote: A ring of spell knowledge is only a storage space; the wearer must still encounter a written, active, or cast version of the spell and succeed at a DC 20 Spellcraft check to teach the spell to the ring. Thereafter, the arcane spellcaster may cast the spell as though she knew the spell and it appeared on her class’ spell list.
Arcane spells that do not appear on the wearer’s class list are treated as one level higher for all purposes (storage and casting).
So what I see is
Copy a level 1 Bard Spell - it is now a level 2 Magus Spell for me
As I can cast "the spell as though I knew the spell and it appeared on my spell list" I am sort of saying that I should be able to use a Cure light wounds wand.
soooo, do you say yay, neigh, or hmmm?
The way i read it you would get bless back. Thats the spell you prepared not cmw. The wording is clear and it means clerics have to do 2 actions to get cmw instead of just a pearl.
Thats the main thing your still in the game with darkvision guys in darkness. But. In dd your screwed especially with some mobs who can cast it at will.
So can this be used to reveal a stealthed or invisible character.
I cadt arcane mark on a rogue. The rogue stealths. Can I still see the mark and is there still a miss chance?
Alrighty Finally got my head around the Arcane MArk, I was looking for some higher meaning for the Arcane MArk spell, when simply it's more Zorro's Z
You simply use it to do two melee attacks, one do mark the enemy with a symbol (could be an initial, a funny drawing, an abusive word who knows) if the spell is successful you also get to do a melee attack and then your normal melee.
pity Ignite won't let you set someone on fire, lol
As for the Sword, I have only found that you can't upgrade the blade after it exists.
Many thanks all, I have changed my character alot, stats alone are now
Str 11
Dex 16
Con 14
Int 16
Wis 10
Cha 9
My character is not a friendly person, relying on intimidation (+5 to intimidate) rather than bluff or diplomacy, after all, the cleric I have is the kind guy, this one has a chip or seven on his shoulders lol.
The other question, there are some oozes etc that like to eat weapons, do they effect black blades and does adamantine counter this??
fantastic thanks for the info mate, I think I chose strength just for extra carrying capacity but I will revisit it thanks heaps
alrighty somone posted before me lol
So Do you need arcane mark for this free attack? as I read it with spell strike
I cast Shocking Grasp, as part of this I get a free melee attack so
Melee Attack, (with rapier) if successful
Spell Attacks and then
I get my normal standard Melee Attack (without a spell on it?)
am I reading it right?

Alrighty, I am new to PF, and especially PFS I have a level 4 cleric and thats my only character. he is fun but I set him up as a heal bot with melee second (it was more the "for the party" option) but now I want to be selfish and get into combat....
I am looking to diversify with another Character, wanting to role a Blade Bound Magus, they looking good and II think I like em.
But how do I play it right, I have read lots and got all confused. I have been told I should get my rapier to adamantine prior to level 3 for the hardness but can't for the life of me work out why (it has some DR bypass, but does not mithril for the demon dr make sense, what sets Adamantine apart?)
I have gone for a Dervish Design, currently weapon finesse with Rapier so I can use my dex on my attack rolls.
str 12
dex 16
con 13
int 15
wis 12
cha 10
There was a reason I had wis as 12 for the +1 and the int 15 +2 but I forget them at this moment in time.
Feed back on my character design is more than appreciated, but the real Question is how do I make the best of this character, I understand I can Cast a spell, use a 5 foot step and then melee attack.
So for the sp[ells thus far, 0 levels are Acid Splash, Ray of Frost and Read Magic, I have read people recommend Arcane Mark but why? I cannot find info on how to use it, I right a symbol of the person but what else??? (1st level Unseen Servent to trip traps on doors etc, and Shocking Grasp cause, well it's good against people wearing metal armour)
So from what I understand I can
1) Cast Ray of Frost or Acid Splash as ranges spells
2) 5 foot step into Combat
3) Melee Attack
(or reverse melee, 5ft then magic)
now to totally confuse things, there is swift and free actions which I keep getting confused where they come into it.
Apart from the guide on creating a magus, is there any "play" guides or any advice how to do this properly??? sorry for all the noob questions.
