And we never even got to meet the last player in game. Hope kitty was at least getting some side story action going on...

As more movie theaters in my area started serving booze, I find I go to those theaters more. Not for the booze, but for the kid free environment...

Yeah, because Joe, Eddie, and Iris would be MUCH more likely to know then Dr. Snow.

No they probably wouldn't know, but since they weren't in the scene, they couldn't have asked the question. Only Cisco, Ronnie, Dr Stein, and Barry were there other than Caitlin. Ronnie was really the only other option, but since he was an engineer on a particle accelerator its probably something he should have known.

That's a great amalgam combo, Martian Visionhunter.

The amulet is one of many sent out to many more "primative" worlds by aliens known as the Kreach that bond with lifeforms, turning them into weapons for the alien race. However, the death of Peter's uncle during the bonding process and the overwhelming grief and remorse he felt overcame the programming of the amulet and left Peter in control.

Assuming we both get selected Daemon, would you be adverse to Peter and Clark being a reporter & photographer duo for the Daily Bugle? It'd be an interesting tie in for the characters.

Also, as a related question, or cities like Gotham, Metropolis, and Central City still around, or are the rolled up into their real world versions, New York, Washington DC or such?

I'd be fine with that, seems like a fun natural pairing.

The Blue Beetle scarab seems to synergize well with the symbiote suit for Spiderman for a mash up of storylines. I'll try and get a build together and posted up soon.

I have some complications listed in there for Amalgam, I think I just didn't call them out as well in their own header. I'll update it so it's clearer

I've run Time of Crisis, played through Time of Vengence, and ran a few free short scenarios they used to have available as PDFs for my old home game.

Amalgam would fill an infiltration and investigation role. Mainly with the morph/shapeshifting powers. I plan to work the gestalt angle quite a bit as that whole part of the character is essentially an homage to Firestorm. Being a shapeshifter makes finding a decent picture for the character a bit more of a challenge since he doesn't yet see himself as a costumed superhero yet...

I have quite a bit of PBP experience on the old atomic think tank boards and some other now defunct game boards, primarily superhero based games. I haven't been able to get in on a game here though.

For Amalgam he really doesn't have much in the way of previous heroic or villainous contact. I figured that Dr Oliver had at some point worked with AEGIS, so he could have Director Powers as a contact, and possibly have encountered some of the Freedom League as an alien advisor or researcher. Nate however was just a beat cop and soldier and likely had no real interaction with any heroes or villains beyond maybe working crowd control at a big super fight or the like.

Origin:
After the last Grue invasion, a captured Grue Metamorph was being studied at a secret lab to try and find the source of and a way to counter their shapeshifting powers. Nate was the security guard on duty when the Grue attempted an escape. During the attempt, Nate was exposed to the collected alien samples and gained some Grue shapeshifting abilities in the accident that destroyed the lab and killed the Grue prisoner and the lead scientist working there. Now he uses his new powers to fight crime.

Super Secret Origin:

The accident that destroyed the lab actually created a chimeric human-grue hybrid of Nate, the grue, and the lead scientist Dr. Oliver. With an somewhat unstable physical form, and a potentially unstable mental form as well, the two men are now tied to one another in a strange symbiotic relationship. They can’t survive if apart for too long, but the unstable nature of the meld and their somewhat different personalities mean they can’t be together for too long either. This is represented by a couple of Power Drawbacks.
Hunger represents the fact that Nate and Dr Oliver must join together in gestalt form daily or grow weaker.
Involuntary transformation represents that the merger of the gestalt form is unstable and may split apart under stress.

Character Backgrounds:

Nate entered the army after school and after one tour left the service to join the police. All his time in the army and the police put quite a lot of stress on his marriage. Just a day after his wife and daughter left him, he encountered a man who has beaten his wife and child severly. Nate’s response went too far, and he was disciplined for excessive force and he chose to leave the police rather than drag out a long court case. He was recruited to work security which ended up with him working at a secret lab performing research on a captured Grue. The lead researcher was Dr. Edward Oliver, a biologist specializing in Xenobiology and Genetics. He was trying to find the source of the Grue shapeshifting abilities so that they could be detected and perhaps neutralized. When the Grue managed to escape it restraint and threaten the doctor, Nate tried the neutralizer that the doctor had been working on. It didn’t work as intended and instead it ended up scattering the Grue’s cells and rebonding them to the doctor and himself, which then caused their own cells to scatter and intermingle.
When rescuers reached the lab, they found only a very confused Nate who had a limited memory and coherence. After being discharged from another job, though at least this time with a severance package and a strict non-disclosure agreement, he noticed that he often had strange thoughts that didn’t seem like his own. Then when a mugger attempted to rob him, he also discovered that he could change his shape. The man fled in terror from the particularly fierce bear that had suddenly appeared. The next morning he awoke to find another man in bed with him! It was Dr Oliver. He had not died, but had been absorbed for a time. Dr. Oliver discovered that they had come to form a chimeric symbiotic organism due to the introduction of the unstable Grue genetic material. For now, they work together to fight crime and find a way to treat their condition.

Tweaked my submission a bit to reflect that there is no memory of him. Not sure if he should know that what caused his downfall was a trap or simply misfortune due to Earthfall...

Eladar, Hero God of Elves

The Myth::

In the early days of the rise of the elven race, as they began to take the first steps toward building a great civilization, they began to reflect upon what it meant to be an elf. In time, this long reflection led to the rise of a deity that reflected what it was that they considered best about themselves. Eladar, the exemplar of the elves. Paragon of grace and culture. Of harmony with nature and magic.
As the power and culture of the elves grew, so too did that of Eladar. He roamed both the heavens and Golarion, exploring and delighting in the new experiences of each new place. Along the way, he was the shining example for elves to aspire to. Tales spread of his deeds. As the elves contested with barbaric humans and other dangers of the world, so too did Eladar.
In one on one combat, his graceful blade and clever magics defeated the brute strength of the great giant Forbolg. A well placed arrow from his bow brought low the mighty red dragon Carestrimir when it attempted to burn the forest home of the elves. His supple armor was never even scratched when he battled a horde of human barbarians. His joyful dance won him a night of passion with the goddess Calistira. After Earthfall, all this glorious history was lost as Eladar vanished from the world and even from all memory.

The History::
Eladar began as a minor hero deity, most commonly known to those elves of northern Avistan. He was mostly worshipped as part of a hero cult of the early elves. He started as something of a trickster god, usually overcoming challenges by a combination of his wits, magic, and his graceful skill. As elven culture and power grew into a great empire, he came to be seen more and more as a paragon of elven virtues. Eladar showed the greatness of the elven people compared to the brutish ways of the barbaric humans the elves regularly were in conflict with. His worship spread and he grew to become a major elven deity. Over time Eladar came to be portrayed as something of a supremacist extolling elven virtues over the lesser races.

The Truth: :
Eladar was a patron deity of the elven peoples. Until the last, he attempted to convince as many elves as possible to flee the coming destruction of the Earthfall. When the time came that no more could be done, he followed the last group of elves to leave through a gate to travel to Sovyrian. When he entered the gate, he realized something was wrong, the gate instead was tearing away his divine essence. Fearing that he would be left to drift and die in the void between the gate, he accelerated the spread of his essence and sent it flying back through the gate to Golarion, there to wait for his rebirth as he continued the cycle of reincarnation as he sought his brightness and the recovery of his divine essence. Now he has finally recovered enough of his divine essence to become aware of his lost self and has awakened millennia later to find Golarion a changed world from what he had once known.
Eladar was a somewhat haughty god who looked down upon other less long lived races. He especially delights in proving his superiority over others, either through clever use of his wits or his skill, though those who prove themselves his equal often become his fast friends. Like most elves he is somewhat capricious.

The Crunch::
Looking to make a Rogue, Druid, Magus with a few elf related archetypes and definitely the arrogant drawback. He was a god of the elves focused on pride, adventure, skilled combat, and harmony with nature. He should find the world he wakes up in an interesting place with its many varied races, cultured humans, and his elves a people in decline.

Me::
I have played a number of online games, but haven't been able to get into one on here recently. I'll have no issue with being a regular poster as this would be my only game.

@daemonprince not bad but you should be a full blown god. It feels like you may have been a minor one, but thats probably ok. Remember there is no one that remembers or still worships you. I get the feeling your are a patrion for the elven people whis is cool and think it could be good RP between you and Hadrana. He seeks to protect all and empower them to find there own Glory or valorous moments.

I tried to do the write up a bit as if from the perspective of a current pathfinder researcher or scholar who is trying to write a treatise on this forgotten god from the few scraps of information he has been able to find. This may have led to me underplaying his status a bit. He was certainly a a full blown god, but one of limited aspect since his focus was solely on the elven people. I do think there could be some interesting crossover as well as its kind of like two different visions of how to inspire others to greatness.

I have a thought of a Druid/Magus/Rogue who was once an exemplar of the Elven Pantheon until a slight to Calistria so enraged her that her exacting revenge cast him down as a forgotten god.

I have an idea for a white haired witch/brawler grapple specialist I've been hoping to play that should fit in well for this type of campaign. I'll get something up here soon.

Crabs as a creature don't have a feat because they are vermin, when the become a beast by being a familiar they get one.

Strangler I think is cool, 2d6 sneak at 2nd. If you add sap adept, you go to 4d6 every grapple check. That's pretty good bonus damage.

Instead of dodge, you could take coordinated maneuvers and have your familiar take the same feat to get a +2 your grapple checks.

It understands your speech, but barring other magic, you can't understand it. And its intelligence isn't any better, so while it might understand your speech, it may not have the greatest concept of what it actually means...

I think I had a trait for the first version of the character that gave a bonus and I missed taking it off when I switched it up.

Here is the Vessel Between trait.
http://www.archivesofnethys.com/TraitDisplay.aspx?ItemName=The Vessel Between

Its basically +1 to hit if you would get to sneak attack with that attack.

I'd love to get in on this one. I'd be looking at a rogue with the scout and pirate archetypes, focused on knockouts with the bludgeoner and sap adept feats.
He and some others, possibly the slayer if he's a melee focus, recently started working as a roving press gang for ships in port. Another local group, not happy with the competition, arranged to have something slipped into their drinks at a local bar and had them on a ship out of town that night.

I had a blast with my all monk PFS party, so I'd be interested.

Liked it a lot when I saw if today. Found myself doing some clothes shopping afterword.

If you looking to only shoot once a round, focused shot lets you add your int bonus to damage. That plus vivisectionist/mind chemist alchemist lets you add a big bonus to your int, and sneak attack. Combines well with crossbow man fighter archetype or ranger.

Name: Daverna
Divine Theme: Growth,Animals,Fury, Trickery
Followers: Druids, Naturalists, Barbarians, Fey
Build: Druid-Growth Domain, Bloodrager-Primalist (or maybe Hunter), Rogue-Scout
Daverna was once one of the Eldest, one of the many powerful lords of the First World who are demigods in their own right. Unlike most of the Eldest, Daverna took an interest beyond just the First World, gaining followers among primitive tribes who worshipped nature totems on the material plane. For varied reasons, a number of others among the Eldest took umbrage at this and united to throw down Daverna. In the moment of defeat, rather than allow Daverna’s essence to reform, the other Eldest spread his power and essence out of the First World to the material plane. Thereby, they believed that he would be forever kept from their realm which they felt he had forsaken and betrayed.

Use magic jar and get the army to destroy itself.

^^^THIS!!!

Magic Jar is an army breaking spell if used cleverly. It lasts for hours, can be used to repeatedly assault & supplant the souls of enemies with little way for them to defend themselves or retaliate against it. Although it could be used to some extent in the heat of battle to sow confusion and chaos amongst the ranks, it works best against entrenched armies at rest. Simply hide your body in a safe place, cast the spell at dusk and entrust the gem to your tiny, stealthy familiar. The familiar then sneaks through the encamped army under cover of darkness; surreptitiously bringing the gem within range (though not necessarily within line-of-sight) of slumbering soldiers. Possess one, quietly commit suicide, rinse and repeat. The few soldiers who succeed on the saving throw are hard-pressed to identify the source of the attack and can be assaulted repeatedly until they fail their saving throw. Since the spell lasts for hours this tactic can be attempted every few rounds for an entire evening. Come morning the bulk of the army lies dead or is fleeing for the lives.

This spell is almost biblical in scope; it turns you into an invisible and nigh unstoppable angel of death drifting through enemy ranks, reaping souls as you pass by unseen. I tried this tactic once to break an army of giants in the Rise of the Runelords AP which our party would have been hard-pressed to assault conventionally in the light of day.

Anyone passing a save against magic jar automatically succeeds at all future saves against your spell.

Without special feats, magic jar also possesses people more or less randomly, so assassinating key people via possession-suicide is right out. (Though you could possess someone else, then attempt to sabotage the enemy or assassinate one of their ranking officials in the traditional sense; then try, try again if you fail.)

Only saves against that casting, and even if they do save, theres more than enough others around to let you completely screw with them. Especially if your speced out to cast no matter what body you end up in, this spell is an insanely powerful way to take down an army. i've used it to selectively assissinate leaders, sow confusion, or even just start groups to attacking each other. So much fun!

Already to buy my ticket for this one!

Not all the passengers on the train were there to research the issue, some we're there to provide leverage to make them do the research as was shown by the cooks.

Actually Not even Clara had seen ALL of the Doctor's incarnations, the War Doctor after all was completely unknown to her and so were any of the others that exist past the time she threw herself into the Doctor's squiggly. Her infinite selves exist only between that moment on Trensalore and the First Doctor's exodus from Gallifrey. Everything after that moment on Future Trensalore is new ground for her.
It's not that she would have seen this regeneration but rather that she has seen enough regenerations to know they don't always go smoothly.
Clara has seen all of the Doctors incarnations so far but she has never experienced the Doctor regenerate, big difference there.

In the 50th Special when she meets the other doctors, she has to ask that they are in fact the Doctor. When Smith's Doctor asks if she remembers meeting them, her response is a tentative "Kinda" so its not like she has this incredible recall of all the times she met the other Doctor's...

Great story. Sad to see though that there's no explanation for her spell casting abilities though.

Studying with druids would seem to cover it...

Anything else would just be cheap. Deadpool should be severing limbs and heads in a bloody mess, daydreaming about mostly if not wholy naked women, cursing up a storm, and generally doing things that aren't appropriate for kids to watch.
If this is what the comics are like, it sounds like the few bits I've seen of them posted around the internet, which are admittedly hilarious, have all been the (apparently rare) PG-rated segments. I was thinking his whole comic was more like that, but apparently not. Again, unfortunate.

The older run done by Joe Kelly is much more in this vein. Newer writers seem to amp up the violence and crude humor after that, especially in the MAX line. Which is sad because it takes him from a character and turns him into a caricature IMO...

Spring loaded wrist sheath lets you pull the concealed weapon in it as a swift action. I think thats the primary way to get the underhanded benefit.

I think him not having the revelry domain is a more glaring error. The god of drinking and celebration really should have revelry as a domain. Too bad they can't go back and add appropriate domains to older dieties when they come up with them.

I'll definately be playing a seperatist cleric of him with the revelry domain.

Here I was thinking all this activity must mean there's a new one up... Sigh.

Didn't Lorelei go on and on about seducing and killing Sif's actual boyfriend, whose name I don't remember, back in the day? Or am I just making all that up in my head? :)
I was kind of doing the same thing, but I thought I caught Sif being pretty clear about inferring that Jane Foster and Thor were the people she was actually talking about when she brought up all that stuff about seeing someone she cared about seduced and taken from his friends and family.

Ah, just me being all distracted I guess.

I thought maybe there was some sort of backstory between them that didn't involve Sif holding a 600+ year old torch for Thor.

Sad. Move the hell on already. You're the only super-powered woman in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can do better than Miley Cyrus' almost-brother-in-law.

Lorelei wasn't talking about Thor, or at least not just Thor, she also mentions Halder as the one that used to be Sif's love, who I assume she had to kill due to his being controlled by Lorelei. Thats why Sif was warning May that Ward would try to kill her, she knew if from her old boyfriend, otherwise there would be no reason to name that person in addition to naming Thor afterwords...

This method may not pick up Ghoul Touch, which paralyzes humanoid target on touch without save, but then sickens everyone in a 10 ft radius (fort. negates). In many ways a better spell than hold person, try it with spectral hand and true strike for any humanoid boss.

That's because ghoul touch has a fort save to negate.

Yes, but the crossbowman archetype dispenses with weapon training, so you are losing +4 to hit and +4 damage, and I think I'd rather have +4/+4 than just +5 damage. Lots of the fighter archetypes are traps (which IMO means the ones which lose weapon training).

Except that you don't, as they get that weapon training specifically to crossbows with the Crossbow Expert ability.

Serpentine bloodline focused on necromancy for the poison spells should work.
