@BD - Ya got any of that lore? Just the bits and bobs left. Will go with the Elfy Druid or Druidy Elf. Will be another for Range... Hope WS didn't also go full bow boi. PS The Encumbrance is a tad... Rough, do people roll around burdened? Can always dump the ole Shoulder pack for combat eh? Clothes having an EV seems a tad rough though...

Bold above is mine; so I decreased 4 attributes by one each for a net 2x +1s. I'll make it work for a single plus one if decreasing a single attribute by 2 is the only option. If it's a -2 to one attribute for a +1 to two attributes that makes it easy too... But, all respect, I think maybe you misread the quote? Been a minute since I looked at it, but am I right that this is a bit more swords and boards than spell slinging, rules wise? Seems like martials may not lose a step until a bit later than PF and D&D and physical DMG is semi important for everyone to have some of... Yea?

The -1 and +1 listed were using Method Six so I was gonna bump the two 15s up to 16 and drop the other four rolls by one.
My search foo has denied me... Is there a list of dice expressions that work on these forums somewhere? Can I do drop lowest die stuff for example? Here's some Stats anyways BD lol... Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 6) = 16 14 - 1 = 13

Byakko Whiteclaw is nearly fully formed on a word doc, just need to convert to an alias, I've popped him into the gameplay posts. The frame seems pretty good for mage hunting and as a secondary melee combatant. I've never been spectacular at optimizing (certainly not the goal here, hope that was the right choice) so he's got a bit of everything, debuffing, control, beast shape, and a flank buddy tiger. Here's some Hit Dice Woodsmoke Lvl 2: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Doin my best to catch up to the PC creation stuff. Looks like 18 pt buy with (if I'm lucky) a 2 pt bonus, post buy (Gonna call that one the Lunatic Fringe cuz... Red Rider... apologies in advance...). Keeping things between 8 and 18 before Lunatic Fringe? Standard WBL? I'll be honest I haven't played at these levels for Pathfinder so not sure what Heroic gear costs, or whats even available. I'll probably reach out for assistance once the PC is forming up... I'm favoring an oracle atm, melee oriented, but could pivot to help fill the Bard sized hole, if the party is keen? Lunar looks fun with a bit of Druidic flavour, a flank buddy, and CHA to AC...

Heyo, Fanguar extended the invite and I'd love to jump in whenever I can be written in... Finishing up my last night shift tonight and checking out some PC options. I can probably have something together for level 4?5?6? by weeks end at the latest (I've a bunch of DM prep for a heavy lore-drop IRL session on Thursday or it'd be sooner). Fanguar recommended perhaps a front liner Skald? I've been peeking at Oracle options too as I'm enjoying the class and somewhat familiar with the options having just made one... Battle/Metal melee, maybe a super lazy halfling nature mystery with a wolf for a mount/Segway. Suggestions welcome...

@GMF and anyone that cares to read it, Kellan's background is up. I had it all typed into Paizo last week but I guess I never actually posted and just previewed. I may have gotten a bit swept up in a creative purge on a night shift break... @GMF I hope this all fits the setting, suggestions are welcome.

Naw man I appreciate the input from another person (GMF has been awesome too) who's obviously 'lived' in the world a wee bit. I have plans for the haunting aspect but the Gods were gonna play into the branding. Boccob may be another option that I'll take a peek at. It seems like Oracles dont necessarily draw from one specific god but up to several of similar principles. Xan Yae ticked a bunch of boxes as a face for the mini-pantheon keen on granting Kellan divine spells whilst cursing his previous transgressions. Balance really seems to be a theme of the class so a Neutral god to use as a focus/face for the nameless handful (or maybe even patron style a la 5e Warlocks) was what I was after. Ideally Neutral aligned with balance and/or shadow associations..
Male Meat Popsicle
@BD wow, a new rabbit hole! lol, I'll check into the Maure stuff without spoiling the AP hopefully... Kellan's connection to some 'X'E (ideally NE) cult is for background reasons, not something he'll be associated with moving forward aside from providing some motivation for True Neutral style "balancing." I was hoping for info on Xan Yae, is there some relation to Shad-Duan that I missed? They both seem heavily into "shadow"... Xan Yae's True Neutral alignment was the appeal. She has some decent write ups on various wikis but if ya had a detailed version too I'd love to check it out. Again, no biggie as it's not crucial, his oracular power origins can easily be sheathed in... err... shadow, lulz. I saw a reference to Dragon #263 if that's something ya might have?
Male Meat Popsicle
@BD Thanks for the link yo! Not sure he's the guy for Kellan's background but mucho appreciado. Any chance you have anything similar on Xan Yae? No biggie if it's a pain and not crucial by any means. I was gonna ask you in PMs @GMF but I figured this'll pertain to everyone. How detailed would you like the encumbrance stuff? I see BD has it sorted in his profile, about like that?
Male Meat Popsicle
Gah! Page errors are fun... Going Oracle, Dark Tapestry or Shadow, human, noble district. Recent alignment shift away from secret NE baddy (Nerull) cult upbringing led to some interesting divine power (and a curse) imbued by Neutral aligned gods. Will not be swinging on a front line but likely utility/shifting or summoning, debuffs and illumination tricks, minor melee and a dash of healing. Havent settled on spells known, suggestions are welcome. I see I'm the last to chime in with a concept, I hope this may help with anyone still nailing stuff down...

Sry boys, didn't realize those were links to the campaign, not material on Savage Tide... Here's some rolls, working nights for a couple so could come out with a solid concept if shifts go well or may hafta be later this week... Roll: 2d7 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7
Hmmm could work but I'll def. be looking into point buy...
Male Meat Popsicle
Yea, tbh I dont really know much about any published stuff. I'm down to go with the flow and whatever makes it the most interesting for the DM. I'll admit to only small amounts of experience so player agency sounds awesome but may not be a strong suit for me in the end, not really sure... I enjoy Hathok's general concept of bard that's not a bard, but if we're not running E6 I may tweak him a bit, or change classes altogether... I'm still down for a restart on this campaign, having a buttload of feats would be fun as hell! Thanks for the heads up, theres no "new" post alert on discussion so I missed all dis...

Im into background skills. So to clarify are we ok to add 2 background skills now and rejig or do we wait for a level up? Ok, I thought maybe I'd messed up my level progressions as a DM cuz for PF several thousand a level is pretty slow going comparatively. Pretty stoked on extra feats when we get there, 3.5 always had soooo many awesome options but your character design always narrowed it to pretty specific pathways... A couple paths later and up to 14 extra feats would be a really versatile martial.
Male Meat Popsicle
For the hell of it, sense motive to see if the dwarf is telling the truth about the locals and the dangers beyond the wall.
Hathok barely resists the urge to smash his arm through the pen to pull the beard off the bootlicker's face but instead waits for a response to the other two and then asks, "Them locals, they like the sound o'th'lute and songs in Common?"
Male Meat Popsicle
I'd definitely be down for background skills. Hathok more or less got all I planned to put in for performance at a whopping 1. He may actually get better at the lute if we use background skills... @BD Hathok has been working on a new genre I can only describe as Intimimetal... I'm now picturing Nathan Explosion with tusks lulz
Male Meat Popsicle
Shoot sry... Took too long editing that last one... We may find ourselves in the same space time to time but it looks like Skald leans to the opposite side of the buff equation... I didn't delve too far into Bard spells though so if it makes any difference on your choices I'll be menacing and tricking my opponents before/during the whole uhhh, Barb SMASH thing. BTW if this is too "meta" discussion-wise I'll lock it up...
Male Meat Popsicle
@ BD, I like some bits of Skald, particularly the Advanced Versatile Performance, but I think this Half-Orc is less a charisma based performer and more of an intimidating presence holding a lute... that wants to be/thinks he's a performer. Thanks for the tip though! RE: Hell's Rebels: sounds good if we're flipping it on it's head for us scoundrels. That being said, Hathok as a typically (alas) CN outcast can roll either way on rebelling against LE or of LG overlords whichever way GMF leans. We still doing the scoundrel thing? If so... more of a redemption-story turning back to good or saving our own skins and maybe the world in the process?
Male Meat Popsicle
@GMF That's actually... encouraging. I think Greg the Half-orc is gonna like the 'new world.' The concept I've been mulling was a Half-orc (maybe just a boring human) barb-slayer-rogue type that was picked up (read: bought) to be the guard/roadie for a travelling bard. Greg (working title) had previously managed to successfully desert enlistment in another of the Empress' endeavors (Ranger corps? Shocktroops? A lil help @GMF for learning Slayer style skills then deserting) and in doing so struck up with a human bard that he provides protection for and a bit of crowd "encouragement" to donate for the bards performances. His style of encouragement would have undoubtedly lead to him being tossed on a ship, if not summarily executed, long ago if not for the smooth-talking bard. The bard has taught him some chords on the lute and their separation of ways started when the bard drunkenly told him he was shit at performing, and Greg disagrees as his few forays into busking have gone reasonably well (possibly due to the stare-downs he's much more capably handing out to passer-by). So ideally if he can volunteer for conscription to keep his precious lute (stolen), or if one of the squishy caster types wanted a body guard for their volun-told trip to the new world (@Mythicman, feeling a bit paranoid about your employer? Need a burly half-orc to watch your back? He's cheap! He'll need a few hours here and there for busking/practicing) it'd skip him having to find a new instrument later... Alternatively he'll have a personal quest to find a lute in the new world and he broke the bards jaw, punching his ticket there and then!

My thoughts exactly but I'll hold off till I've solidified a concept if we're not calling it a re-roll tax. Sorry if this is a given, but are we doing the whole traits thing? I've got a concept in the works that'll likely be full BAB front liner or perhaps a rogue assuming unchained stuff is cool. If anyone is taking a disgraced dwarf that still has the status for a recently enlisted/acquired half-orc body guard I'd be down for that collaborative back story. I was hoping to clarify "untouchable" and below indentured for half-orcs: are you thinking virtual slave class/property so far below other races they're barely worth acknowledgement or do you mean they're literally an untouchable class RP wise? Assuming the former could they have enlisted/been voluntold hoping for a more tolerant frontier if they were say, unexpectedly no longer, errr, mastered up?
Male Meat Popsicle
Woohoo! Caaaamaaan Dice Gods! Honestly I felt bad for asking being a noob to your games but those were spectacularly blah! 2d7 + 4 ⇒ (2, 7) + 4 = 13
This is... literally all good.. I'd take a DM fiat -2 somewhere for the re-roll or I can just quietly back my way through the door into character creation, grin wide in appreciation...
Male Meat Popsicle
Hate to ask outright but uhhh, Fanguar... How dya feel about a re-roll on my stats? Two +1 stats and nil for the rest before racial bonuses... It's no Yarp the Idjit but he actually might've been more fun to RP than Greg the Everyman... from two doors down. I can make it work if it's a no. Greg the half-orc may be kinda funny...
