Yami casually collects one bone from the winged creature, and keeps it for herself... ...she too wonders about the sun's movements in this realm... Occultism (T) vs DC 20: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 ..."I think it's because we are already dead!" she adds her scholarly opinion to the discussion.

Leaping immediately out of a bush from hiding, Yami approaches the tiny corpse (pieces), and starts playing with one, trapping it like a mouse, only for the grass to flink it along, and POUNCE! ...when he thinks nobody is looking (busy healing Sigurd or Refocusing?), he himself focuses upon it with concentrated intent, and little dark purple magic energies start flowing from his claws...

While the party rests at Bridge Shrine, Yami spends the night practicing foul magicks on field mice, returning in the morning with a single zombie-rodent in her mouth which wriggles and writhes, which she lets go, then pounces on, and destroys. She smiles at the party, her gaze lingering longest on Auntie Wu and Sigurd. If chastised, she spends the next day following above Kazuki in the tree cover - actually, whether or not anyone has any words for her, she does so - and when the trees themselves lash out, she disappears into the woods again, to hide.

Yami looks around "Seems to me like we are lakeside" smelling the air and looking up "Just a grey fog above us - no, we cannot see the sky here" (indeed, a light fog covers the entire sky for miles) "A beating heart? No. No I did not see that" She licks Lan's face as Vekka feeds a potion and Sigurd opens his divine font (which works full strength here) - and he comes to! "Good morning sorcerer. You arrived dead. I was going to reanimate you if your friends didn't" Yami smiles, then looks off towards the monastery "Wait. I think I do see 'dark clouds' over the monastery. Do you see them?"

"Ah yes! We did it!! Let's get to exploring..." Yami stops mid sentence, observing the condition of the party - nearly all of you lashed with bleeding cuts and looking quite ragged and worse for wear - she then realizes that Lan (whom she is still pinned to by claws) is unconscious, and retracting them, hops with a graceful feline leap off of his still body - instinctively bunts his head to check for a response (there is none) - and asks, greatly confused. "Are you okay!?! What happened?" she herself looking entirely unscathed. Vekka's bravery returns to him (No longer "perma"-frightened) as she speaks... Your spellslots are spent & HP totals as they were upon leaving the dreamscape...

Nobody knows how that works. Maybe Lan is a polymorphed cat. Or spent his last 9 lives not being a human. In any case. Critical Success w/ Critical Aid "There is time enough for back-scratching" she plays coy, but marks the future date none-the-less "Help me Open the Wall of Ghosts - the Monastery lies just beyond!" with a quick circle/bunt around each party member (except Kazuki - whom she pauses a moment to smell...), she dashes behind where she was standing, lights some incense, and starts purr-chanting!

Auntie Wu wrote: Auntie Wu cocks her head at Yami. "We don't blame you for wanting to see. We do, too. Why didn't you give us a chance to work with you?" Yami arches her back and stretches her paws, gaining perhaps a few inches of height to appear more menacing "You have stifled my every magical experiment - why would I entrust you to such an important task?" she hisses, well, like a cat, before continuing "If I had taught you everything, what would you have done?" and answers her own question, frustration in her voice "Nothing!" Sigurd Kolphan, Season of Ghost wrote: "Yami? Are you doing well? We were looking for you. I made a nice bed for you, and Darius promised more exciting stories about a giant spider that tried to eat him..." "No!" Yami reflexively dashes into the bushes... ...then comes out a second later, realizing she is caught "You cannot stop me. Not with a nice bed. Not with stories. Not with anything. I must... I must see!" Sigurd Failure Behind her, you observe little knick-knacks and trinkets - Yami's attempt at making ritual preparations of some kind... Vekka:
You recognize it... And is it really a surprise? She is attempting to perform the "Open the Wall of Ghosts" ritual all by herself! In fact, she is in the middle of making her skill check as we speak!
...and further behind her, the dense mists of the Wall of Ghosts swirl ominously!

Yami grows suspicious that the party tires of her... she brushes by each party member's leg, and then curls into a spot onto the ground, and stares at them, as if assessing their reactions... Do I still have sufficient volunteers to provide up to 4 Care Points for Yami for Week Eleven? In a sudden move, as if to hedge her bet, she brings gifts to... 2d10 ⇒ (2, 7) = 9 which are 2d10 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 someone's undergarments for Auntie Wu and a single potato for Sigurd...

Yami approaches Vekka at a later time "Do you seek passage to Beyond the Wall of Ghosts? I have been doing some experimenting..." and he shows the tengu a ritual site which he has desecrated by re-animating the corpses of small mice, creating tiny zombies! +⭐⭐ free Successes to Research Willowshore Curse for two weeks of full Care Points!

”Lady Ge-Be always fed me and the others. When she died, I tried to bring her back. Then she killed her” Yami must mean Auntie Wu ”Now, I have you to take care of me” If you want a straight answer out of her, you will have to make a Request, up to one for each Care Point supplied this week (still week eight)

Pleased that the entire party is willing to pet, feed, and litter her for next week, and presumably into perpetuity, at the expense of their weekly chores, Yami chooses, of the five, to “release from duty / ignore” Auntie Wu, Kazuki, Lan, Sigurd, or Vekka?: 1d10 ⇒ 1 Auntie Wu, leaving her “off the hook” for kitty chores in the upcoming week. Which, she spends lazily hanging around the Cerulean Teahouse watching Sigurd work overtime to restore, and using minor magical telekinesis to hover inanimate objects above herself with which to scratch and sharpen her claws against, and never once bothering to ask if she could be of assistance. Indeed, meowing turbulently right when Sigurd is about to engage in either heavy lifting, or, some new task requiring high concentration! Further imposing a -1 upon his efforts this week, on top of the -2 he is already sacrificing to care for her!!! (So, -3 total to Sigurd, -2 to everyone else, except Auntie Wu, who is -0 this week) |
