Vanizadi is a conrasu, a creature that appears to be formed of wood and bark with a dark orb of glittering specks like starlight in the night sky. As he rights himself, more bark grows over him protectively. Roots spread out around him in geometric patterns, though they don't actually dig into anything, and occasional blossoms appear around him. He draws his mace with one branchlike arm as a wooden shield forms over the other. "I am undamaged. It is good that our team is equipped with medics." Vanizadi faces the sergeant, somewhat concerned. "No, my name is Vanizadi. These are Knox, Zdenek, Bramblespine, and Maddegan. We are Pathfinders. You may have experienced a blow to the head." Should they prioritize finding Sethinnol? Or would it be better to secure their own escape first, to conduct a search in a safer and more organized way? That was usually preferable, but in the icy conditions they might not have the time to spare--though with something approaching they'd likely have more immediate concerns requiring immediate address first. Ugh, sorry. Illness + holidays = what day is it?

Feel free to move and roll for Vanizadi for tactics. He doesn't object to being in melee, especially to help flank, but all else being equal prefers to staying 10 feet away to attack with reach. He usually uses impulses of course, but has a decent melee Strike (mace +7, 1d6+3 bludgeoning damage)--though probably rarely the first choice in this party.

Hello! If you're new to pbp here then perhaps I should explain this "dotting in" thing. From your profile you can access a campaigns page, which gives you easy access to all of your pbp games. To join a game, just make a post in the gameplay thread.
That will also add your main profile to the "Players" tab and the profile you use to post to the "Characters" tab. Oh, right! This forum lets you create aliases that are sub-profiles you can post from. Every Society character is automatically an alias, so you can generally just use that character's profile to make your posts. That way you can add your character sheet to your profile, and a stat block to the "race" and "class," which show up under your name in posts in gameplay threads. (This forum actually has some pretty decent pbp tools!) Here, I'll make this post with one of my character profiles instead of my GM profile so you can copy it if you like. When you make a post, you can switch to an alias sub-profile from the dropdown near the Preview and Submit buttons. Once you've added a character to a game, they'll also move to the top of the list when you make a post there--which can be very helpful once you have a few of 'em. I see you've already added your token on the Slides, so thanks for that. On the third slide there, there's a marching order diagram. If you put your token on there, I can use that to help put together starting positions on any battle maps we may use.

While he tries to stay polite, the conrasu also cannot ignore that the Pathfinders are under attack. Nor that the monks have so kindly arrayed themselves in front of him. He pushes his elemental aura forward, all the roots and bits of wood exploding away from him and showering the monks in a hail of splinters. As Vanizadi reopens his connection to the plane of elemental wood, his aura reforms. This includes a thick branch in the shape of a heavy cudgel punching up at Meleeka from the ground. ◆◆ Hail of Splinters. 30-foot cone catches Black, Red, and Meleeka. I am a healer and medic, and I will attempt to keep you alive, or undead in the event you are already undead. I have some command over elemental wood." He turns back to the Venture-Captain. "A thought occurs. How large is this statue? Is it something we can carry with us?"

Two Glyphs. Vanizadi uses the Hardwood Armor impulse, which means his armor is a magical effect that has to be periodically activated. It lasts 10 minutes and only takes an action, so restarting it every time it starts to wear off while exploring is easy enough. But it requires him to have his kinetic aura active, so if ambushed in town or another setting where that would be inappropriate his AC drops to 17 until he activates it. I'd normally put him in the front, but we seem to be a melee-heavy party and he can also be effective at range. He can slot in anywhere, if anyone wants his space in the marching order feel free to move him out of the way. He has the somewhat awkward Fresh Produce. It's a healing ability that only takes one action from the user, but the recipient also needs to spend an action to get the benefit and needs a free hand. So, does anyone have a free hand in combat?

Vanizadi moves closer to each Pathfinder and penguin. A small nut or berry grows in each one's open hand--or at their feet for those with hands full. "These are magical and contain vital energy. Eat them and they will heal you." Fresh Produce isn't the greatest in-combat healing, but it's pretty good when you have a little time. Each person Haka 1d4+1 and gains Void resistance 2 for 10 minutes. During that time you feel full and can't eat another piece of produce.

Nobody has treated the "Head Pathfinder." Perhaps this group is not effective at magical healing. They probably should have discussed that. Vanizadi has some magical healing... but it requires either cooperation from the patient, which is less helpful when they are unconscious, or time and exposure to sunlight, which is also currently inconvenient. It is good to note this limitation. The task must then be completed in a physical way. The conrasu moves over to him, extracting a bandage from his medical kit.
