Ushyle's page

Ushyle is lost in trying to take in the ever-changing scenery of Elysium and physically starts at the the statement by Courage Heart. He races to compose himself: Um, well met, I am...um, you clearly know my na— did you say son of Warchief Riplock? He does not know the name, nor the name Evora Yarket.

Bewildered, he struggles to put his words together. I, er, I need to speak with the Everbloom, I think. I...I believe I have given her offense with...with my actions, and I would...I must present myself for her judgment.

I trust that to be so, Ushyle says with a slight smile. And I expect I shall take you up on that offer. But after another journey is done.

I would join you, Ushyle says to Raen and Whistle Pig, if you will allow it.

He pauses, then continues quietly. And when the task is done, it will be time for me to face the Everbloom.

Ushyle turns to Raen in surprise.

Not surprise that she is not returning to Trunau -- he has known since they met that the village was too small for the likes of one such as she -- but going over the sea, to the—

West? What lies to the West? he asks, puzzled.

Ushyle is taken a bit aback by Hamilton's display, but he can't argue with the question. Why, indeed? he thinks.

He is silent a moment, then recalls something Katrezra told him once. He moves to Ham's side and quietly says, Some would reduce the world to rubble so that they might lord over the ruin left in their wake. There may be no other motivation than that. Which is unsatisfying as an answer, I know. Nor does it bring back all we have lost.

Ushyle watches Doxon fell Akazerath in utter awe. Torag would be proud of that hammerwork, he muses.

Wordlessly he looks about, trying to ensure no more threats are imminent.

Finally: ...have we won the day?

Now is the time! Ushyle calls in Dwarven. It will take all of our might together to vanquish this foul foe!

Ushyle moves in, knowing the dragon's jaws will snap down at first opportunity but hoping to clear a path for Hamilton and his steed. Move, not charge. Provokes. Ushyle has displacement up.

Ushyle guides Rosewind over the fog and into the hallway. Almost by instinct, he takes the measure (study target, swift) of Akazerath and of the Storm Tyrant — You appear much less confident without a dragon as your unwilling slave! he jeers to Volstus in Jotun — and strategically stops well shy of a full attack from the giant foe.

Knowing what is to come, he steels himself and Milani's Thorn. He is sure the dragon can see him and Rosewind, but he has some small hope that Volstus cannot. Ready action to attack Volstus should he come into melee range. He will (hopefully) stop a charge.

Ushyle moves forward, taking great care to stay out of Hamilton's charge lane since the roughrider can't see him or his steed. Once he lays eyes on Nalbia and her escort, he immediately studies them and then whispers a prayer for divine favor from Milani.

Cursing silently that he can't see anything more then the current foes, he mentally takes stock of the two Leng spiders and the small elemental (study target x3), then makes Rosewind invisible on her own (cast invisibility on the phantom steed) to complete the illusion.

Ushyle preternaturally avoids the entirety of the lightning bolt.

Single move on Rosewind for now. Standard & swift actions will depend on what Ushyle can see currently.

As the seconds tick down, Ushyle all at once remembers the handful of potions Raen brought for him. He retrieves one and drains it in a single gulp. Invisible all too often doesn't work against dragons, he thinks, so a bit more is always worthwhile.

Ushyle is just as shocked at the bolt through Raen. Once he sees she is still alive, he turns to the newcomer with an unbridled fury.

Prudence wins out, however, as he grasps a potion bottle and drains it with a single gulp, studying his foe and moving Rosewind a bit closer.

That move will be your last, he says through gritted teeth. If you want a piece of them, you will need to go through me.

Quaffed a potion of displacement.

Ushyle nods. Raen's counsel is wise, the half-elf says. Divide and conquer is the route to victory.

Insignificant, it seems, edges into the lead Ushyle says to no one in particular, hefting Milani's Thorn and placing his daily enchantment upon it.

Where to? he asks Raen.

Ushyle waits for Raen and Doxon to fall silent before he speaks his mind. I cannot say for certain if it be fear of our assault or arrogance at how insignificant they think it, he says, retrieving the cloak and handing it to the Varisian. But if it be the former, they are right to envision their own demise. And if it be the latter, such conceit will be their undoing.

Ushyle spurs Rosewind forward to engage Rick Wakeman the giant, studying the foe as he approaches. Study target as a swift.

Enduring the cacophony his approach provokes (AoO is provoked), the Melanite brings his trusty blade to bear!

Ushyle takes a moment to address his wounds, not willing to rely on Vael to take care of only him.

That will do for now, he says.

"I am glad you bear such a cheerful mien, burdened as you are with wounds," Raen says to Ushyle, alighting on the table. She glances back at Vael, breathing heavily under his own injuries. "And you are not alone in that respect."

Being dead lends perspective, I can assure you, Ushyle say, grateful for the succor Vael's magic offers. But, I got better.

Ushyle collapses to one knee on the floor of the chamber, breathing heavily but giving silent thanks to Milani for being alive. As he catches his breath, he stands again and casually lops off each of the dragon's heads, nudging each toward Whistle Pig with his boot. Some presents, he says with a smirk.

Breathing heavily, with burn scars crisscrossing his exposed skin and blood streaming down the side of his face, Ushyle grits his teeth and calls on the grace of Milani to bane Milani's Thorn against dragonkind.
