I'll echo Desynthia's request, keen to keep Ulis going with this group.
I have found it a challenge to find core pfs games so it would be good to continue in another core game.

and just like that Ulis is back in front of the Venture-Captain. He grins at his companions; "Well friends, Cayden has shone his smiling visage on us all..." He frowns, something... something is wrong... I... I appear to be... mostly sober. Oh dear- well, off to rectify that.

He holds up his mug of sloshing ale and heads off toward the nearest tavern.

Ulis moves to a better position to cast spells on both Bobbie and Theron

I have moved Ulis to the other side of the group for the next encounter. Seeing that Theron wants to take the enlarge person Ulis would be closer to him than to Bobbie. If GM wants me to move back Ulis will move and attack with the crossbow instead. Otherwise...

Ulis puts his hand on Theron's shoulder before the warrior charges into the fray; "Cayden says, Your story is larger than life..." He holds up his tin mug and casts enlarge person:

Theron's height x2, weight x 8.
Increase size category to Large
+2 size bonus to Strength
-2 size penalty to Dexterity
-1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to its increased size
Theron will occupy a space of 10 feet
reach becomes 10 feet
Longsword damage 1d8 -> 2d6

As Theron offers a drink Ulis holds up his tin Mug- Oh, you meant water
"By Cayden, we are victorious in our commission to rescue the lad-" He takes a drink, toasting Cayden "You say there is another one of those foul creatures we have to defeat? Excellent, another chapter in our saga awaits! Where can we find the soon to be ex-trog?"

Upon Theron's suggestion, Ulis will check the bard over for injuries.
heal check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

If we want to rest here I can prepare 'enlarge person' to make Bobbie or Theron more of a target? We don't have to rest but it may be an option.

Ulis is taken aback by Bobbie's story. "Your convent sounds rather ruthless- a world away from Cayden's temples... Who did you follow at the convent?"

While they're talking Ulis takes the wand;
CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Aye....I like the sound of that tale....Theron laughs as he takes yet snother swig of ale from his skin to rinse the nasty aftertaste from his mouth.

But kindly leave out the part about the retching if you don't mind...

Ulis looks incredulous; "What, and omit such a colourful part of the story? Never! The story of you splashing the flagstones with your breakfast will be celebrated along with spilling of these creatures guts."

Ulis is stunned, the quick work of the duo has left him with his mouth hanging, eyes wide. He stares at the eviscerated creature and can only think of Bacon...

In whispered voice Ulis finally speaks; "By Cayden, the way you two dealt with this creature, such swordplay, such footwork-"
The volume of his voice raises in triumph, a tin mug appearing in his hand full of ale, sloshing about as he speaks;
"In taverns and temples all over, songs will be sung, tales told and the listeners shall say; 'nah, that is such cow dung' and I shall say; 'Nay it is truth, nary a lie is told, this tale of Theron the quick and Bobbie the powerful all true!"

Ulis moves up to Theron and casts Resistance
"Cayden says the first round is on you..."

Ulis shouts to Silas and Desynthia in the other room; "You can come in now, the used to be a frog in here"

Before moving on Ulis will search the two rooms for anything of interest. He takes a couple of long draughts before searching through the \sleeping mats- they must be pretty disgusting.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Overturning the mats releases a solid wall of stink, the smell really gets to him and Ulis leaves pretty quickly.

Eastern most door?

Ulis will move into the room and shoot his light crossbow at it, then rapid reload;

damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

So what direction is everybody thinking we're heading once the healing is done? I'll allow retro-active posting about healing too if we're good to move on otherwise.

Also, heads up, I'm departing on a trip tomorrow. I will be able to generally post once a day *except* may on the days we're flying (tomorrow being one).

I have 2 CLW, 1 Protection from evil, 2 Channels left. If we rested I can prepare Enlarge Person instead of Protection... thoughts? Otherwise happy to push forward.

Ulis sees Theron take significant damage from the trog before it is cut in twain; "Hold on Theron, Cayden has your back"

Ulis will cast Resistance on Theron too. Its an orison, which means I can cast it repeatedly, yes?

Ulis steps up behind Theron and casts Resistance on Bobbie.

"Cayden wishes for your heroes' story to continue..."

So, Ulis' oaths and exclamation about Cayden are getting kinda silly. Please let me know if it's ruining your immersion, I'm more than happy to play it straighter if you guys want.

Ulis steels himself against the wall of stench. Javelins fly past them as the creatures get the jump on the party;
"By Cayden's everclean underwear, those wily creatures used their stink to get the upper hand against us!"

Ulis steps forward to get a clear shot and shoots at the Red trog with his light crossbow, then rapid reload.

As the bones are readily separated and clatter to the ground Ulis shouts; I recognise those things; they're just plain old - *clatter clatter clatter* - skeletons...Haha! you two made short work of them. This will be a great story to toast to; the shattering of the flaming skulls

Upon seeing the alter Ulis enters the room cautiously; gods and religious rituals are nothing to truck with. That was what he learned from the one class he was required to attend sober. The lecturer (also a follower of Cayden) was on edge the whole time.

Ulis takes a club from the dead troglodyte and swings it around experimentally. "Maybe I can get a few hits in with this thing before it breaks..."

"Ha! By Cayden's charming grin, we made short work of them. Well done team! His mug sloshes as he thrusts his hand into the air.

"Now, let us see if these creatures have anything worth scavenging'

Ulis will put his hand on Bobbie's shoulder and cast Surge of Strength
"By Cayden's can-do attitude; let's kick their butts and ask what they meant afterwards."

Still feeling sick from the viscera of the spider, the smell hits Ulis like a brick wall. He steadies himself and shoots at the creatures.

Crossbow Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 2 = 5
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1

"We didn't see any human footprints coming in, did we? Perhaps he went through the other door?"
I assume Theron relayed the faint reptilian tracks near the trapped door?

Ulis will track back out and look for any signs of activity around the other door. He will return to the group once he discovers (or doesn't discover) anything.

The sight of the trail of mucus along the floor had turned Ulis a shade of green but the sudden appearance of the spider innards oozing from the carcass causes his stomach to heave - he spins and hurls a puddle on the floor.

"By Cayden's reassuring smile! If we had missed that trap... that could have been one of us."

Ulis grins at the Sorcerer; "Maybe the melodious chap knows something about traps? Either that or we go through the other door."

Does Desynthia know mage hand? could that work?

Ulis gets close as he dares to the mechanical device;
"This sorta things out of my wheel-house; I may have skipped lectures about traps. Could we activate it from across the room? I could shoot it with my crossbow?"

"Right behind you! - towards the back"
Ulis grins; "Let's make finely-ground meat of whatever is through the next door."

I have a bad feeling that the door on the left is going to open when we open the door on the right.

Ulis attempts the climb again, this time hoisting his armour and gear up first;

Climb check 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Climb check 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

As he clambers up (mug still in hand) he thanks Bobbie for her help.
"Let's hope I don't have to do that again"

Ulis swings precariously as he climbs, beads of sweat drip from his brow. His hands become slippery...
"By Cayden's codpiece, this is harder than it- " He lets out a yell and tumbles back onto the rubble below.

Assuming its not lethal damage he'll have to try again once he recovers.

Ulis will make sure the armours are hoisted up to Theron and Erica before he climbs the rope.[ooc]

In a moment of muddled clarity; "Don your armour and check for an ambush before we climb up."

If all is clear, Ulis will attempt to climb using the rope.

Ulis sits on a hunk of rubble, mug in hand watching the procession of climbers until it is his turn. He holds up the mug with each success and pours a little on the floor with each failure.

Once Theron is up and secures a rope, do we get a bonus to climb form the rope?

I have 4 more strength surges left, so that's an option. I reckon Theron goes first and secures the rope. He'll be able to fend off anything that attacks while we're climbing.

What is the minimum number of rolls we need to make with a rope?

Ulis walks around looking for a route through the fractured building.
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

He comes to stand next to Theron, following his gaze up, along the rubble and to the second floor. He goes pale as he realises what he is thinking; "Theron, I'm... um... not much of a climber."

"Umm.... ahem..." Ulis is feeling rather embarrassed. He holds up his mug again.

Channel Positive: 1d6 ⇒ 3

2/4 Channels left

As the spider dies Ulis stumbles back, he fumbles with his mug and holds it up, toasting Cayden silently. His mug glows softly and his allies can heal for Channel Positive: 1d6 ⇒ 1.

As the spider shrieks, he yells in triumph; "Come friends, by Cayden the creature will die by our hands today!
Perspiration on his brow, blood and dust stain his vestment, Ulis takes a 5foot step, will rapid reload and let-loose another crossbow bolt.

attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 4 = 3
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Ulis moves 10ft to the left to stand between Silas and Erica, out of the way of the spider, and shoots with his light crossbow;

attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 4 = 14
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Ulis immediately regrets his decision, he blanches as the spider sinks its fang into him.

As a free action he'll throw up on the ground near him from the combination of the alcohol and spider venom. Was he able to cast Surge of Strength on Erica or did the aoo stop this action too?
