The creatures grasped Judah with mouths and claws and hauled him gracelessly up the wall. He could feel the stone rolling behind him in ways that stone was never supposed to.

Judah's skin crawled, which made him think of the stone even more, and this skin-thief they were fighting.

Every time he thought he'd gotten used to the horrors he'd become mired in, something new showed him how much worse things could get.

The creatures set him down on the catwalk and waited in the walls for new orders.

Carrying Judah up to the catwalk.


As before, the monsters in the walls flanked like the wolves they vaguely resembled. The stone became a flurry of edges and clubs.

The pair of canid elementals followed their foe down the wall, flowing thorugh the stone like water.

The stoney canines rushed through the walls leaving a swirl of smooth stone in their wake. Teeth and claws lashed out from the stone behind the cloaked figure on the catwalk.

Elementals both move up through stone, pop out of the walls to flank, attack.

Once again the dirty beasts churned the floor in a flurry of claws and fangs and oddly liquid stone, thrashing at their enemy's legs.

Still obeying their earlier orders, the two elementals moved in as soon as the door was open.


The two earthen creatures warped themselves like wet clay into forms that looked like someone had tried to sculpt a dog from memory, but gotten the number of legs and mouths wrong. They padded quietly past the group in pursuit of their master's bidding.

Scouting with Tremorsense towards the next group of living creatures.

The things beneath the ground dragged the dog under the earth with a series of disgusting crunches and wet tears. In moments it was gone.


The number of limbs seemed to suddenly double.

New elemental makes a full attack from below, same as the first one did.

Too many earthy limbs lashed out of the ground again.

It's technically just one elemental. It has Cover from being half in the ground, so it's AC is 21.

The dog-thing tore up the ground badly, but somehow missed the elemental's body.


The churning earth below the dog thing continued to lash out with shards and stones.

I'm going to have the elemental stay in the ground. It's under orders to be subtle, so no flanking bonus for me.

The ground surged. More odd limbs crusted with shards of metal and jagged rocks lashed out.

Summoned below the dog, using earthglide 5' adjust and attack from cover. I think this should let me catch it flat footed, unless it has tremorsense, or something similar. Also, the elemental is still mostly in the ground, giving it Partial Cover against most attacks.

The thing that burst forth from the ground beneath the terrible dog-beast had never actually been an earth elemental, and wasn't even particularly good at pretending. If you saw it half buried and didn't look too close, you might be fooled, but after looking a few moments it became very clear that it was wrong. It was like a Gordian knot trying to untie itself, but everything that loosened made something else tighter. It oozed blackish oil and occasionally forced shards of rusty metal and stone out of itself.

It a blink, it had lashed out with far too many limbs.

No, they are the eagles. The Things That Come is the profile I use for all the stuff I summon.

The strange looking flying things burst from the trees and circled, The small flock had far too many wings and claws for only three bodies.

Best of all, with the addition of Summon Eidolon to Judah's spell list, Gate can get the benefits of Judah's Augment Summoning feat, aaaand we can come out and play while Gate is summoned with the spell too.

Judah is now a petting zoo.


The flapping thing seemed to fold in on itself and unfold above Judah again, continuing it's assault.

It's a new creature. I'm just pretending it's the same one.

Entropic Eagle

The strange fleshkite was a rolling shadowy blur of shrieking talons that laid into the stirge from above.

As soon as the mad doctor falls, both the strange dogs looked straight to Carter and watched him as they dissolved into the floor. Alien flesh gave way to protoplasm and eventually only smoke until they were gone entirely.

The strange dog-thing's face splattered against the wall fromt he force of the Doppleganger's blow, and as if rebounding from the impact, it turned itself inside out again, leaping forth as a newly formed creature. A moment later the fallen body did the same.

Now there were two of them.

Out of the puddle of viscra, like it was turning itself inside out, the terrible dog-thing burst forth again attacking the doppleganger.

The doppleganger's claws took the dog-creature's face clean off. It crumpled into a heap and dissolved into fleshy goo.


Moving south-east of blue enemy (above the number 11).

The strange quadruped looked like a skinless canine with an array of small white eyes across it's forehead and a vertically bisecting jaw. Two thin tails whipped behind it. It lunged forward and snapped at the nearest creature.

Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4


The strange creature slinked back into the darkness and was gone.


Morphic Monsters roll (above 50 = extra monster) 1d100 ⇒ 19

The grotesque creature that had attacked the skeleton ducked back into the shadows and vanished.

It came out of the shadows on the other side of the hall to lunge at the skeleton in front of Lorant.

The old Dog goes around the corner and the effect ends when the new one begins, so the first one vanishes. The "shadow jump" thing is just poetic licence to describe the same kind of creature suddenly showing up in a new place.

Summoned Creature is an Entropic Dog. My Morphic Monsters ability grants it the Slam evolution. It appears in the square to the left of #5

Something lunged out of the darkness. It was impossible to tell for sure what it was. It stayed to the shadows around the corner. A strange maw, like a hairless dog who's jaws split one too many ways, snapped out grabbing a leg bone and jerking it around, slamming the skeleton violently into the floor and wall.

Behind the rag man a swirl of mist gave glimpses of a a lizard-like creature with clear, glassy feathers.

Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1


Just realized this thing is only going to be around for this round. Better make it count. Judah's creature is bursting through the door in the next room and continuing it's movement (it doesn't care about being careful). If there's anything within 30 feet of the door to attack, it will move there and bite.

Since this is all happening "off camera" in a room we can't wee into yet I'll just spoiler an attack roll and let you decide where it ends up and what happens.

The creature moved in a hunter's rush as soon as Judah's reply came.

Dog, summoned with It Came From Beyond, enters play between the ladder and the chests then moves through the door on the left, jumping across to the wider ground in front of the door and bursting through it.

Acro (jump): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20


The crack widened dropping something through the nether. It landed with surprising grace in front of the laser in the room beyond Dimral. It looked much like a dog, but it wasn't. Strange things moved beneath it's skin like someone had packed it full of squids and it's mouth ran the wrong direction. It's mouth split along it's skull opening sideways. It made a sound that could only be some kind of strange language. It sounded like vertigo feels.

Something vaguely humanoid comes from below, staining the water red around it and clawing from beneath the spider.
