You open the door and the "dogs" rush in, plummeting to the ground 15 feet below (and taking 1d6 ⇒ 1 damage). The door opens onto a narrow stone platform 15 feet above the floor. This chamber occupies a whole side of the building, from the cellar level below up to the roof high above. Seven iron vats, each ten feet across, occupy the majority of the room. Furnaces fuel the vats at cellar level, while at the ground floor level a series of planks have been laid across the vats to allow passage to a ladder that leads to an iron walkway on the level above. Two ladders also allow access from the planks to the floor below. The air in the chamber is cloying and acidic. Moving among the vats, you can see eight more of the strange creatures, these even more hideous than the others, burned as they are. Three of them move to intercept the elementals, while the other five ignore the goings-on and continue their work.

Cassiel and Lorant both move in on the creatures menacing the elementals, each scoring a hit on one of the humanoids. For their part, the humanoids remain standing, returning the assault with clubs. Sadly, none of the three are able to hit the broad side of a barn.

Mister Grey watched his pair of earthen beasts engage and eyed the door on the far side of the room nervously.

The room was recessed into the ground, so that meant the door probbaly wasn't an escape tunnel. Those were usually hidden. There was more to this place than was apparent from the outside.

Time was ticking on and they still didn't have the answers they needed. He dropped down to the floor below and tried to stay out of sight as he headed towards the door.

Maintaining my earlier stealth roll.

I'm not sure if it's possible to stay out of line of sight (or in dim light) to make stealthy movement viable, but I'm going to try for as far as I can go. My goal is to get to the other door. GM, can you help me figure out where I end up?

Cassiel takes down his opponent with a well-placed shield blow, Lorant hits his target, and Judah's elementals shred the remaining two that had been engaging you into small chunks of flesh. The other five beings seem oblivious to the demise of their fellows, continuing their work.

Above you, on a small walkway on the eastern side of the room (you are beneath it and hidden from view from above), a door opens and the sound of footsteps echo in the vat room. The footsteps stop at the edge of the overhang.

(My apologies. I should have paid closer attention to the map and then would have mentioned the overhang previously. The southernmost ladder leads up to it and it spans part of the south wall and the entirety of the east wall, extending out over the vat room a good 20 feet (see map). You are below the overhang and cannot be seen from above.)

Judah held a finger to his masked lips sharply as he fitted another jammer on the locked door in front of him, then started up the ladder as quietly as he could.

I take 10 for 18. The dogs are still under orders to be stealthy, so they sink into the ground after thier target is dead.

Help?! Judah thought to the entity in his mind.

Then he realized he could see. The room, all grey stone and dingy grime in the faint light, was suddenly alive with colors that shouldn't exist. Judah had a moment of panic, but he was so used to the strange by this point that his mind rushed past surprise and acceptance all the way to glee.

Somewhere in the dark, Judah started laughing.

The stoney canines rushed through the walls leaving a swirl of smooth stone in their wake. Teeth and claws lashed out from the stone behind the cloaked figure on the catwalk.

Elementals both move up through stone, pop out of the walls to flank, attack.

Out of the blackness behind the cloaked figure on the catwalk, a shadow loomed. For a moment it was serpentine, but it unfolded like it was turning inside out.

Spindly legs pushed it up into a bipedal stance. Great black wings unfolded. It's eatureless face split and opened, yawning into a leech-like abyss as it lunged.

Gate is manifesting in it's Quadraped form, with a +4 Str and Con from Enhanced Summoning. It's being summoned in the doorway behind the guy who cast Darkness to cut off escape. So now that guy has Gate right behind him, and an elemental on either side.

Lorant, yes, you are up the ladder, but the elemental is between you and the figure.

The figure is assaulted from either side and by the thing-that-should-not-be. The first elemental connects, only to have no effect! The second elemental misses completely. The figure is hit twice by the thing, wincing in pain, bu still very much active.
