Excellent choice, looking forward to it. I just added the new battlecry content to herolab and saw PF2e is up around 27 classes now, wowsers. Anyone going to try the new commander/guardian? I'm leaning towards a swashbuckler or rogue, but could be convinced to pivot to a champion. Would like to hear what others are thinking.
Thanks for the breakdown on it Dr. E, I didn't do as much research on it as you have. It being a new one I haven't played yet, I was unaware of the content. All of your points make for valid arguments against it, I think I'll reconsider my suggestion that pushes us down this particular path. I think we might be at an impasse on a 3-part adventure that meets our criteria and might need to expand to a six-parter
I had never seen this guide to APs before, this is awesome! I agree that Kingmaker, Seasons of Ghosts, Cirmson Throne, War For the Crown and Tyrant's Grasp are all top ten worthy. I think Rise of the Runelords deserves to be on that list. Alvis: You said you want a more civilized setting. The ones that best align with that (from my memory) are Crimson throne and Edgewatch. I've completed both. Crimson throne is on (nearly) everyones favorite list. It's a fantastic story (I think I've played this three times now). Edgewatch you are essentially law enforcement. It's very thematic and some people have a problem with this theme. My group didn't and we had a fun time with it. @Dr. Evil: Here are my thoughts, don't eliminate them necessarily because of my comments. Ran Jade Regent. Book 1 and 2 were fun. Starting in Book 3 my players lost interest and it became very meh for us. Reign of Winter started fun, but fell off for my group in book four when it felt like a very railroaded path. I ran Ironfang twice, one through through book four. It has a very Kingmaker-like mentality to it if you like being thrust out into the wilderness and trying to survive. Played some of Azlant, couldn't get into the Lost style theme. Would be willing to try again if that's what people want. I'm not a huge dwarf player, so if choose Sky King's Tomb I'll likely be an oddball out. I'm not a preferred fan of evil players. Tried it in Hell's Vengeance and it wasn't my style. I'd bump Shades of Blood, because:
miteke wrote: Did not care so much for War for the Crown or Tyrant's Grasp, both of which died in the first book. GASP. I finished both of these. I have to say War for the Crown is in my top two favorites. I absolutely loved this one (I ran once and GM'd once). I'd love to replay this in 2e mechanics one day, as I much prefer 2e mechanics. I am biased however, I tend to really love the roleplay aspects of the game more so than kill move room, kill, move room kill. WFTC has some great areas for intruige/roleplay. I ran this as a GM up through book four and I will say it can be quite challenging as a GM due to the mass of personaliteis and intruige.
Hello! Thank you for the invitation! Codanous wrote: I am amenable to all of them, I would say no to Quest for Frozen Flame, tried it with a home group and I struggled really hard to get into the vibe of it. I'm currently running Quest for the Frozen Flame, we are about to close book two. I will say that it takes the "right" group of people to make it through this one, because is heavily themed and quite different than most APs. I'm currently playing in and/or running: Curtain Call, Seasons of Ghosts, Seven Dooms for Sandpoint, Crimson Throne, Kingmaker, Burnt Offerings. I have NOT played/run: Wardens of Wildwood, Triumpth of the Tusk, Spore War, Shades of Blood, Sky King's Tomb, Second Darkness, Legacy of Fire. I'm a well-traveled veteran of Pathfinder and have either played or run parts of mosts adventures prior to 2024 (some several times). Do not feel like we have to pick one from my very short list. I have fond memories of many of the adventurers and wouldn't mind playing them again, so I do not mind playing whatever the group agrees on. Each game is a new experience with the dynamics of the group and I'm thankful to have been invited.
Thank you for running this game! I've been scouring the recruitment threads for months hoping to find a KM2E game to get into. Much like Doc, I started one as a GM last month because I couldn't find one here to play in! So I'm acquainted with the storyline but fully capable of separating that out as a player. I'm extremely interested in joining. I'm in EST. I'm a veteran of the boards, having been here for over a decade, and frequent them daily. I'm playing and GMing several 2E games; it's my preferred system of choice now. I use HeroLab Online to generate my stat blocks, but if your preference is Pathbuilder, I can set one up there as well. On party size, playing with four is great and makes for a faster-paced game for sure, but if you're new to the forums then I'd recommend considering a group of five because attrition is also a very common problem as well. It helps to have a fifth to keep the game moving (particularly if you lose one along the way or someone is busy). I'm going to submit a sorcerer, rogue, or bard. Currently leaning toward a sorcerer.
I'm running AV for my group and created a trailer leading up to their start of the game. You can watch the trailer here. Enjoy! :D
When my group starts a new campaign, I typically create each of the characters in our party visually through a 3D render. As our story progresses, sometimes I capture fun moments so we can share a laugh. For my latest campaign, I created a narrated intro that leads into our a visual recreation of our campaign as we play through the first two books. The video (seven minutes long) is HERE. Most of the pictures I created along the way I posted in the corresponding forum for other users/GM's to use (available here). It was a blast creating something this epic, I hope someone enjoys it as much as I did :) Happy gaming everyone!
I'm so happy that people are finding uses for the pictures! Please use them however you like! If you need to get a hold of me and I'm not answering on here, you can reach me at corycubbage@gmail.com or ShadowLord#3140 on Discord. Now, things have been a bit crazy for me the last year and I got sidetracked and haven't kept up with this project like I had hoped. As I dig back in again, I see there are 20 new things I have done that I haven't put up here yet, here are they are: The Tipsy Tengu Exterior
Captain Shristi Melipdra at Utterhome
Ianofdoom wrote: These are amazing and I am loving including them in my game. Do you have plans to do any more? Do you have a patreon or something cuz I would totally support that to get more like this. Hurray! I'm glad someone is going to get use out of them! I don't have a Patreon, but I've had several people ask me that. Perhaps I should look into it further. --- I totally missed my January update! I got so sidetracked with a Fly Free or Die mini project (Check it out here!). Okay, so the big update for January is that I decided to build Absalom, which was a monumentous task. I went through and added numerous monuments from around the city. Specifically, I added:
Azlanti Keep (Azlanti Keep) The Beast (Docks) Blue Tower (Eastgate) Postern (Eastgate) Skyreach (Foreign Quarter) Aroden's Hill (Petal) College of Mysteries (Petal) Mercerene Manor (Petal) Metro-Cathedral (Puddles) Absalom Lighthouse (Pilot Island) Flotsam Graveyard (Pilot Island) The Black Whale (Pilot Island) Beldrin's Tower (Precipice) Silver Lawn (Precipice) Living Lake (Precipice) Aspis Pier (Precipice) Hall of Nations (Precipice) Clockwork Cathedral (Coins) Starwatch Keep (Starwatch Keep) Blakros Museum (Wise) Yes, I know they are teeny-tiny, but hey! Details matter! :) Street to the Hall of Nations during the festival. The front entrance to the Marevlous Menagerie. Closeup of the Hall of Nations. Expanded Entrance to Edgewatch HQ (I added some steps and a street). Lavarsus and Ollo standing in front of the expanded front of Edgewatch HQ.
Ten more from book one and two from book two! Book 1:
Solo - Cass Hamish Solo - Sergeant Moldun Ollo Edgewatch HQ - Front entrance
Dragonfly Pagoda - Courtyard
Ralso in the lobby of the Dreaming Palace Pratchett's Dungeon - Pratchett Only
I'm working on a project for my group that's playing through this campaign. As I work through the story, I'm rendering some of the more memorable characters and scenes from our game. It's probably best to share them in a single thread rather than a new thread for each one. Here are four renders from the catabombs in book two. D5 - Halls of the Headless Horseman:
The dullahan Frefferth and his unholy steed Polora - Link. D38 - Pool:
First is The Skinner, Wrent Discaspiron. This is a solo shot of her partially hidden in the darkness. Link. The second is the room where the Skinner and the excorions are found, but without anything in it (to help set the mood). Link. The third is The Skinner in the chamber, ready to skin the party. Link. I'll check back in with some additional pictures as I create them. Hope these help some future GM's in their games! :D
I created and rendered Sergeant Moldun Ollo for a project I'm working on. Hopefully someone can use him for something! :)
Hey there! I'm working on a project for a Starfinder group and as part of this, I created a 3D model of Absalom Station and rendered some 4K pictures of it. I hope they help someone, somewhere! :) Absalom Station - Top View
My fellow agents of Edgewatch and I stumbled across an ooze this week while spelunking in areas unknown. I decided to draw it up and share it with everyone! And yes, I'm playing the violin in the background for inspirational purposes while the sorceress does all of the hard work :D

PREAMBLE Two years ago I was anxiously awaiting the release of War for the Crown. I had my group lined up and I was going to run what I had hoped to be the best AP written yet (I was not disappointed)! When I run my games, I always look through other PBP games to get ideas on how other GM's ran the NPC's, the dialogue they used and general atmosphere building text (Read: I steal other GM's work). Brainiac's game was the only one running at the time and hollllly crap, you guys were able to keep pace with my live game because of your ridiculous post rate. For months and months this kept up until my group unfortunately fell apart in book four. But by that time, I feel like I already was in this game for as well as I knew your characters and the story. Fast forward a year or so and a couple of your players ended up in one of my recruitment's for a game here. Knowing the players posting habits pretty well, I plucked them out from the general group, made a second table and snagged a few more good players I know. Over time we've played a few other games together and sow chaos every step we take (Or maybe that's just my characters? :) GET TO THE POINT ALREADY Mel and Zhi's daughter Harmony is the best-est friend in the whole world to my endearing, charming and rambunctious redheaded swashbuckler Tessa. When I saw Itzi's post describing Tessa meeting Zhi for the first time, I couldn't help myself but decide to put something together for you guys. So my parting and congratulatory gift to you is that I've visually recreated this scene where the two first meet. I hope you all enjoy it! :) Kudos on completing a game on the forums, it is a feat in and of itself. Bravo to you all! I wish you all the best of luck in all of your future games and look forward to playing with you! Individual Pictures: 01 - There you are 02 - Sorry about the party 03 - Mel helping Zhi up 04 - Youw fat 05 - Yes momma 06 - Mel smiles at Tessa 07 - Momma she fat 08 - Apologize Contessa 09 - Herw! 10 - Didn't see you Countess 11 - Tessa sticks tongue out at Zhi 12 - Zhi glowering 13 - Are you okay countess 14 - My back 15 - She peewd 16 - Is this your first 17 - It is all morning 18 - I think you are in labor
Aw shucks, thanks for all the kind words everyone :D While it's not directly relevant to the entirety of the city, here's one more for anyone who's running Shattered Star and is looking for The Crow entrance in the Irespan piling.
I created most of that in Maya, but I created the landscape though World Builder. I did some touch up and color grading in Photoshop. I didn’t use any auto-populate script, I created about 50 different homes and organized them into groups of about 50. Then I just rotated and manipulated the blocks at different angles for large portions of the city. I then added in about 75 unique buildings to stand out that have more detail. If I get around to it, I may to create some mountains/hills for a background and do a shot coming in from the water looking inland.
Hello! I've embarked upon this ridiculously crazy project of trying to visually recreate my play-through of book one of Shattered Star. One of the very silly things I did was to create a 3D model of Magnimar. There are really only two decent pictures of the city that I could fine and they are both relatively low quality, so here are two 4K shots if anyone wants to use these. The first is a full view of the city looking out from the land towards the sea with focus on the Irespan and the other is a much closer shot of the Irespan looking through the port. I hope someone finds a good use for these at some point :)

I went looking for HP rules and found the GM post here: GM Nikolaus 'the Grimm' wrote: You can roll and then take the best of your roll or 1/2+1. So you'd want to keep the 6 Fleur :). So here goes: HP: 6d8 ⇒ (8, 8, 6, 2, 8, 4) = 36 If I'm doing this correctly, that should be 8,8,6,5,8,5. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Helloooooooooo players! *wave* I'm super excited to get wet with all of you! Thanks for having me, I promise not to let you down (too much). I like long walks on short piers, high charisma characters and causing mischief. I have GM'd and played with some of you and some of you are brand-spanking new, so I look forward to all the fun times ahead. I've been very active on these boards for six or so years now and I tend to GM more than I play, so I'm chomping at the bit to be on the other side of the table. I may have said it already, but I absolutely adore high charisma characters, so I'm looking an oracle and bard primarily, though mesmerist is a possibility. I chatted with the previous GM about how I would come to be introduced and he said I should arrive on a supply vessel. Assuming that's okay with the new prospective GM, I'd like to get my character completed and posting in some roleplay with you guys this week before the game ramps up and gets rolling again. Something I do for the games that I am in that I have done for here is that I setup a discord channel for this all of us in this game to use. I know two others here who are already on the discord server from other games I'm in and so I've already slid them in there against their will. It's an open invitation for all to join and I hope to see all of you in there, if you wish! :) Here's the link.
