--Sandman-- wrote: Sandman came down from the helm to the main deck, marching to the prow and putting on his mask and causing the void of night to swirl in his scars. As they closed the distance, he grew in size. As a reminder, Sandman should be Large right now. His current AC is 15 The Nightmare Man's eyes flared with darkness and motes of starlight in the direction of the flying creature.
I'm going to wait to see if this works before deciding on Sandman's action.

On the trip back to the ship, the Mask had been busy. Starting with Sandman and slowly moving out to everyone in the dinghy, the grime and blood and sand had hardened to dust and crumbled away leaving them all spotless. You have endured the island. The pains of your efforts have borne new understandings. Lessons well learned. Be cleansed. New. Ready for the next trial.

Woot! Thanks Nivian, that worked way better than my plan was probably going to. :) The mask's otherworldly double-voice echoed through the wet caverns. "You were warned. Nothing can save you now." The Mask is using Intimidate to Demoralize on the Queen Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Very slowly, the mask smiled, and just as slowly the whole countenance of the place became cleaner and brighter. Prestidigitation to clean is the physical manifestation of how the mask feeds on pain and suffering. I think of it kind of like medieval medicine when leeches were used to suck out poison blood, or maggots were used to eat away dead flesh. It's creepy and kind of awful, but it works.

The mask continued it's whispers, releasing tendrils of the pain and fear it had been absorbing during it's time on the Wormwood, reaching into the minds of Plugg's faithful and whispering their dooms to them. Demoralizing the sailor to Scourge's left.

Last round re-do action- The mask focuses its baleful gaze of Scourge, whispering terrible secrets into his subconcious. Intimidate to Demoralize: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 This Round- "R̪͓̤u̥̘͖̱n̼̣̟̜̺,̺̩̳̖̬̜ͅ S̙̳͎̬̣͎̩c͔̞o͈u̺͈͔͙̩̬̻r̞͔͎̟̯ͅg̦͕e̙͙͖̫͚.̯̮̮̬͉̲̯.̼͈͎.͚̩̥̗̼̫" Fearsome Shadows (Cause Fear) DC 11 will save. Hopefully with a -2 penalty from Demoralize and a forced reroll, that will do the trick.

Sandman's voice sounded distorted and distant, echoing with itself as he spoke through the mask. The mask's eyes flash and Sandman's strange shadow reaches out a too-long arm with fingers that stretched to inhuman lengths to claw at the mind of the sailor on the staircase across the ship. I finally mapped out my Mask's stats as well. Right now its ability to take actions and effect the world are extremely limited. The only things I figured out that it can do other than Prestidigitation: Cause Fear once per day (Patron Familiar ability)
Not too shabby for a sentient piece of wood.

It is a fair trade. I enjoy the feel of having a physical form. Rest. You still have much to learn. As the ship slept, the ever present masked figure at the prow stood silently in vigil watching the black between the stars and beneath the waves.

The mask spent the day in the galley with Rhemus quietly listening to Fishguts' drunken yarn. While they jawjacked, the mask soaked in Fishguts' depression and misery. The walls were saturated with it. It was in everything he touched. It was like a buffet. Slowly, the dingy, grease stained walls brightened as the mask sated itself, the filthy aprons went from brown to white, the old pans with the burned-on food looked freshly scrubbed. By the end to the day, the galley was spotless. The mask neither asked nor cared if Fishguts or Cut-Throat were sober enough to notice. Prestidigitation to clean the galley. Also, eavesdropping.

The Creepy Mask Says:
Amamer cure potion, heavy crossbow Allie: cure potion, invis potion, chain shirt, +1 shortsword, masterwork shortsword, heavy crossbow Ashram : 1 cure potion, studded leather, heavy crossbow Alende: heavy crossbow not a lot you can use this haul from what I can tell Sandman: boarding pike, heavy crossbow The unclaimed pile 4 heavy crossbows (25 gp each) 7 studded leather (12.5 gp each) rather than selling the extra stuff, giving them out as bribes/gifts to our mates might be a good idea Let the arguing commence!

"Shut your mouth, pain junkie. I haven't asked you anything yet." the big man says flatly, grabbing Garreg by the ankle and dragging him towards a shadowed alleyway. How about we don't do this in the middle of the street. Once they were out of the streetlights, the big man dropped Garreg unceremoniously on the ground and put a foot on his chest. Casting Sow Thought to make the Captain re-think his priorities about who deserves to be protected. Activating Scar Shield, bringing my AC to 14. SHould have done that two rounds ago.

I was waiting on the GM to tell me when I'd closed the distance from outside. The door crashed open and a terrifying figure ducked through, dragging a heavy war club behind him. He moved like an animal, something predatory and simian, and cast his glowing eyes across the den of sin, drinking it all in. The words on the mask rippled and ran down his chest to turn his entire body into a constantly changing stream of consciousness poem that differently to each person who saw them and the words were pulled right out of their minds to reveal their greatest shames and fears spelled out in the giant man's scars. He locked eyes onto the man called Garreg, sprawled on the floor. Don't. Move. Casting Hold Person on Garreg. DC 18 WIll |
