Male Human Ranger 4 | HP 41/41 | CMD 20 | AC 16, t 12, ff 14 | Fort +8 Ref +7 Will +3 | Init +2, Perc +8, Low-light Vision

Targath barely can keep his rage within himself; all the waiting, the travel, the constant agony of waiting for better news. The imprisonment of Zarta Dralneen makes the shoanti man anxious, and as such he doesn't loiter around in Valsin's office. The instant he is dismissed, he leaves, not listening to others congratulate him or their teammates, nor to leave a report of any sort to the venture-captain; so true he is to his nature, hating books, bookworms, and writing in general.

Some can hear Targath menace around, yelling profanities, and ravaging the training dummies.

Some say he has been assaulting some people on the streets during night time, when law enforcement isn't at its strongest.

Some say they saw the shoanti brute hiding an alley, sobbing.

Targath gained another dimension to this personality. And a level, too.

Regarding the Sands trilogy, I'm also going to play the same trilogy as Core soon. So that's one reason I'm not going to replay this time. :)

Targath probably shouldn't have that boon? He didn't care to read anything, after all.

Targath scoffs at the books. "We should burn those. Only harm comes in them! Wizards doing s&~+ and blowing up another's s@++." He's busy going clean up work, like killing unwanted pest insects and the like. That he enjoys far too much.

Pass.

I have far too little time to read all 20 new posts in the discussion. That alone should explain that I'm having too many PbPs (one game stalled because no one was continuing it. GM had to bump. I feel stupid)

Besides, I've played the Sands. And ran them too. I'm perfectly okay with you playing something. I'll just shout out when I'm looking for a game. All depends on when other games end.

I might be interested in Midnight Mirror after all, but I'm currently stuck in so many PbPs it's horrifying. I intend to decrease the amount (finish 5 or so) before starting new ones.

And another point: I didn't like to play Targath over PbP. At the same time I didn't want to break the character and start acting all nice and cooperative, but at the same time I disliked how rude and abrasive I felt I should act out. The matter was made worse with Tilly. Since most of the players here apparently have children of their own (myself included), I was overly cautious about how Targath would react and act. That said, in case I would join another PbP, I would not consider unleashing Targath another time. In a real life situation I don't get to detail Targath's words and manners so exactly, which makes them more of a caricature instead of an outright a$!%@@#.

Oh, and I need at least one character of mine available for the upcoming event. :)

"Damn, no more demons," Targath says and exhales heavily, "but at least it seems we got this manor cleared of every demon hobo s%+& we came across. And f$*~ you, Tilly f#*!ing demon s*%~, nearly snatched my dagger!" He goes over to get his dagger back and checks it for damage, then sheathes it. Targath lifts the girl with one hand and turns it to check it.

"So, guys, is this girl a real girl, or was it just some demon possession crap you high-minds talk about? Or just a disguise?" he asks, "if she's just a puppet for the abyss, we'll drop this over the ledge."

Does that channel affect demon-Tilly as well?

Name: Stefan Sauerland
Character name: Targath
PFS#: 2205-9
Chron #: 11
Starting PP/Fame: 17/19
Starting XP: 11
Starting gold: ???? (I haven't scanned my copies of the chronicles yet, and I can't check them from work.)
Day Job Roll: Targath, victorious as ever, sails back to Absalom and pillages everything in its path. Profession (sailor): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 = 20 gold

And a boon? I haven't decided yet.

The scenario was fun, and the GM did very good job running the game! I'm unsure whether the scenario features any pictures of the manor and such, because I would have liked some visual imagery. The manor map was a little weird, being tilted and all, and had me confused for a moment. After the encounter with Tilly you could've just open up the entire upstairs, the secret closet excluded. While it held some suspense, I constantly hoped not to find any monsters lay about upstairs somehow oblivious of your advancement.

Scenario: 4/5
GMing: 5/5

So Targath should have executed his famed Targath maneuver on Tilly the instant he saw her in the closet. That means a quick draw + surprise attack.

Also, it's Tilly's turn after Pooka/Luna. I doubt she'll interrupt Targath so I'll post my action in advance.

Targath, still enraged about the news of Zarta being arrested, sees everything hostile in front of him as a culprit, responsible for the nefarious deed. "OUT OF MY WAY, STUPID CANINE! I WILL MANGLE YOUR USELESS CORPSE!"

Move action: Freebooter's bane @ doggy; standard action: attack, of course.

+1 adamantine greatsword + FB: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 = 11
Damage (magic, adamantine, slashing): 2d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 + 1 = 13

However, he fumbles with his greatsword. Apparently the adrenaline in his body is making his movements exaggerated and imprecise.

"Let's get on with this, damnit! Zarta's in trouble, screw this manor and its demon s+~$!" Targath says, irate. Once Chumley has done examining the door, Targath kicks the door in. (cinematically, of course)

Btw Chumley dismissed his enlarge person, so I reduced his token to normal size.

Targath is furious, his grip of his greatsword tightens and he looks further into the corridor. He looks at Pooka, and grabs him and lifts him up. "We've got no time for your 'oh look at me, I'm wounded' b@!@$&&%! I'm fed up with this demon funhouse and its f%~*ing tricks! We flood the place with blood and then head STRAIGHT to this Citadel Vraid!"

With thumping steps Targath makes his way down the corridor, barely waiting for others to finish up their things.

If Targath would have barbarian levels, he would expend all rounds at once.

Link that Disruptive Fireball. I've never heard of one.

Targath, hearing the sounds of an upcoming battle, smiles widely. "Oh boy! It had been far too long!" he exclaimed excitedly, rushing off to jump off the balcony. He figures the fight might be over if he starts climbing, so he instead climbs down some distance, like 10 feet, and then jumps down.

Climb: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

As he lands, Targath swiftly takes out his magic greatsword, shining its light at the face of the babau. "Damn you're one f@~&ing ugly son of a b#&@$!"

I guess that's a double move. 10 feet of climbing equals 40 feet of movement, and then 20 feet of movement around.

Targath's weapon does glow. I think I stated that before in some post I made.

There are other little known rules that often perplex even the greater minds. Like this (relevant information: the need for Precise Shot):

PRD wrote:

Shooting or Throwing into a Melee: If you shoot or throw a ranged weapon at a target engaged in melee with a friendly character, you take a –4 penalty on your attack roll. Two characters are engaged in melee if they are enemies of each other and either threatens the other. (An unconscious or otherwise immobilized character is not considered engaged unless he is actually being attacked.)

If your target (or the part of your target you're aiming at, if it's a big target) is at least 10 feet away from the nearest friendly character, you can avoid the –4 penalty, even if the creature you're aiming at is engaged in melee with a friendly character.

Noteworthy: Reach weapons threaten, but if the combatants are 10 feet apart, Precise Shot is not needed. Thus only adjacent combatants incur the melee-shooting penalty.

PRD wrote:
If your target is two size categories larger than the friendly characters it is engaged with, this penalty is reduced to –2. There is no penalty for firing at a creature that is three size categories larger than the friendly characters it is engaged with.

Medium attacks large, -4 penalty. Medium attacks huge, -2 penalty. Medium attacks gargantuan, no penalty.

Noteworthy: A small character attacking a large creature incurs only a -2 penalty if he/she lacks the precise shot feat.

Well, Targath would have jumped down then instead of climbing. Regardless, he hasn't moved towards Diri then, and has just drawn his greatsword. Also, you've marked darkness as a global condition, but is the darkness spell only around that creature?

Targath waves his greatsword around a bit, smiling as it sheds light like a torch. "Now where's this little bugger?!" Targath yells, seeing a lot of fighting going on near the portcullis. "Damn stupid magic darkness s#+!. Xûll, give me light, brother!"

Targath then resheathes his sword and again tries to climb on. This time doing it hastily.

Climb (accelerated +5 DC): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

"This better not be those f~@+ing derros!" Targath curses and drops down to the ground with ease (I'm guessing he hadn't traversed much upwards), despite not seeing a damn thing. The next instance he pulls his magic greatsword from its sheath, and is baffled that its light (which I've always forgotten to specify, it's his only magical light source) is nowhere to be seen.

"Blasted merchant! I'm going to rip his soul out!" Targath swears and starts walking towards Diri's voice, "keep blathering, tiny títs, so I know where you are!"

Move action towards Diri, halved movement due to darkness. Weapon drawn.

If Targath still has a standard action after these actions:

Targath is ready for any invisible threat, and readies himself to strike at the direction that attacks (and hits) him.
Hit chance 50% (1 = y): 1d2 ⇒ 1
+1 adamantine greatsword: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage (slashing, magic, adamantine): 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 = 12

Regarding potions.

Rules text (emphasis mine) wrote:
Potions are like spells cast upon the imbiber. The character taking the potion doesn't get to make any decisions about the effect—the caster who brewed the potion has already done so. The drinker of a potion is both the effective target and the caster of the effect (though the potion indicates the caster level, the drinker still controls the effect).

And the enlarge person spell has the following:

Quote:
Duration 1 min./level (D)

Meaning it can be dismissed as a standard action.

tl;dr: Xûll can drink the potion and later dismiss the effect.

Targath's combat lesson is short and stupid, yet he still leaves the dagger to the girl. In his delusional mind Targath sees the girl filled with spirits yearning for vengeance, eventually making her grow up as a formidable soldier.

Targath leaves his dagger to her, and neglects her other needs. Did I mention Targath's a douche?

Prime examples of murder hoboing:

In Absalom, you are tasked to assault a warehouse, and arrive at the scene in broad daylight. Disregarding everything, the team decided to assault the warehouse in front of the entire crowd, causing panic, and alarming the guards. Once the watch arrives, the pathfinders have disposed of the "threat", possibly killing a thug or two.
This has happened.

While investigating the possibility of an orphan home's owner's suitability for the job, they come across a half empty bottle of whisky. The pathfinders confront the old lady about the issue, and further press her about alcoholism. Because the pathfinders refuse to back down, the lady initiates combat by, you guessed it, throwing a shoe. Somehow enraged by this the pathfinders retaliate, and accidentally decapitate her.
This has happened too. Now, it might sound veeery evil and all that, but even prior to this the game was very comical in nature, with caricature player characters and all that. This gory, very immoral deed... suited the style of play at the given moment, so I went on with it and soft-pedaled the incidence.

And the numerous cases where caught criminals are murdered in cold blood instead of turning them to the authorities. In rural areas, tough finding a justice there, but in a large city? Hmm.

"Oh come on you guys, this kid's got soul! More than you pussies, at least!" Targath comments, stepping up to the girl with a wicked smile, "and while you're at it, kid, you might actually stab a demon spawn or two if they get too close!" The shoanti swiftly unsheathes his dagger and offers it to the girl. Unlike all other equipment worn and used by Targath, the dagger seems to be in mint condition.

"You just stay close to me, kid, follow me in every way you can! Make your Pa proud and all that!"

Targath has been taking a quick nap on the comfortable chair, and instantly wakes up when people are about to move forward. "Finally! Was about damn time!"

Targath moves on to follow the others, this time being the last to get to upstairs. He seems disillusioned by the books, naturally.

"Very nice, tiny títs, but you can rummage the place when we—... I'm done with the monsters in this manor. So you gonna leave the kid in the closet? Couldn't you let your doggy stay and keep her company, tin can?"

Targath follows the rest. First time for everything, I guess.

"Awwww shoot! I thought I was getting some action!" Targath says with disappointment, and leaves the door to let the babysitters do their blabbering. Chuffing about how dull the manor so far has been, Targath finds the closest, comfiest seat and slouches on it while resting his head against his palm.

"I hate to break it to you, douches, but even if this a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e kid emerged from the closet we still need to keep a close eye on prey and whatnot."

With that said, Targath tries to block out the obnoxious cosseting and concentrate on sounds and sights he can't hear or see.
