Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

I'm still here.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

I sort of think so too, too bad I was having fun.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

I have no idea where we are at either

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith goes "East it is then."

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

I'm here.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith takes the rest of the gear that no one else wants. "You never know what might come in handy."

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

West.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"Makes as much sense as the rest of today"

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"I hate leaving the unknown behind me but if we're going to get out of here in a reasonable amount of time we can't check everything. Let's go south for now. Unless someone has a better idea."

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Knowlege Nature aid: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Knowlege Relgion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Knowlege Planes: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Knowlege Local aid: 1d20 ⇒ 10

Tanith goes "Let's try to brainstorm, maybe together we can figure something out"

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

I just went and took a good look at our map. I somehow had a totally different mental picture of what things looked like. I thought we had come to a big room with two exits besides the entrance we had come in. As we talked about two exits, I thought the references to the entrance we had come into was a reference to the 3rd nonexistent exit I had invented in my head, and that it might lead back the way we came.

Now after I have banged my head on the table repeatedly for not checking the map before now, I suggest we ignore Tanith's paranoid delusions (he does have the paranoid trait) and we explore the only new exit.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"Let's see if this does go back to where we came from, it wasn't far and we can be sure that nothing comes from behind us that way." Tanith heads down the west passage.

New Perception check if needed:
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith says "Someone should pick up that leftover gear, we don't know what is going to be useful."

He moves over to other passageway heading back the way they came. "What do we have here?"

perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"Do we go forward or do with check out this other passage going back the way we came a little ways to make sure we're not leaving unpleasant surprises behind us?"

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith picks up the amulet and takes a closer look at. "Anybody see anything like this before?"

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Do I need to make a new perception check to search the rumble or does the one from when we entered the room still count?

"Good Job, everyone, did anyone get hurt?"

Tanith looks over his companions and the room carefully.

New perception check if needed:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith strikes out at another cockroach 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

"Finnish them quickly. This place keeps handing us nasty surprises, who knows what's next?

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Gm, get well, soon, breathing problems bite, I have cold induced asthma and the -20 degree temps have had me walking around with my emergency inhaler in my front pants pocket.

Tessara, glad to have you back.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

We're waiting on Tessara, I know she was having trouble posting over the holidays, I don't know if her schedule is back to normal yet.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Stop putting disturbing ideas into my head

Tanith moves forward to meet the oncoming bugs and slams his sword at one attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"Man sized."

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"Ladies and gentleman there are enough giant cockroaches over there for each of us to fight our very own. Anybody got a plan?"

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

We should see if there's anything here

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Let's go with option one.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"You folks at the back might want to light a torch, just in case."

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"North East is fine, hopefully we can come back and explore the side if we need to."

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Merry Christmas

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

I just checked and I don't think we have anyone with dark vision, so I better be in the middle or the front. with nine people I could have four in front of me and four behind.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith still has light cast on his sheild. I'd rather be in front, but if I take rear I'll be in a better position for the light source, to channel healing or cast spells, and if something comes out of the dark at the back of the party, I'm well armed and armored. So I guess I'm in the back unless someone has a better idea. Oh I have +7 to perception

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

1d100 ⇒ 37

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

perception: 20 + 7 = 27

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith pats Niesen on the shoulder "Good job, I think there's some rags I use to clean my armor my backpack. Let's go check." He then walks over to Anevia and kneels next to her. "Let me take a look." He speaks firmly "Use my hands, my leige, that this warrior may return to battle wickness."

trade a bless for cure light wounds cure: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith moves to where he can attack a maggot trying to get out of the grease and swings at it. attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Edit I forgot about the AoO so ... In a state of fury he slams his blade at another maggot attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Yes, I think of myself still fairly new to pathfinder, but I don't know if someone else would or not. I've been gaming since 1980 or so but I skipped 3.0, 3.5, and up of D&D because I didn't like 3.0 at all when it first came out. I've only got about 80 hours of tabletop playtime under my belt for pathfinder compared to thousands of hours I have for other game systems. I still find myself looking stuff up and wondering just how certain things work.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"Nothing gets to the rear" Tanith moves forward to block the path to the rear and attacks a maggot comming right at him. bastard sword attack on maggot #2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 and then swings his sword at a maggot trying to move by him AoO attack on maggot #7: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Tanith uses a whetstone to hone his blade so his first hit since his last use of the whetsone does +1hp of damage

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith moves forward hoping to attack the creature.

If Tanith can reach the spider with 20 foot move he attacks. If not he closes the range with a double move (40 feet)

bastard sword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 for damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5.

edited because I realized as soon as I hit the submit button that what I wanted to do wasn't legal, ... for more than one reason

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Sorry, I'm pretty new to pathfinder, I've never actually cast guidance before and thought that it was like shield, personal use only, when you asked your question I went and reread the spell, and realized that I could've cast it on you. In the future I'll specify who I cast it on. For now let's say I did cast it on you, cause well that's what Tanith would have done.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"I'm an idiot" Tanith mutters. He then casts guidance.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

I only know things from the player's side, but I've see ditzie, Roll20, and googlemaps used and been happy with them all. That said ditzie does seem to be the easiest to use to me.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"With a bit luck that thing is dead already. If we're unlucky it is just knocked out by the falling stone ... and we're about to wake it up. Well let's so go see if this day can get any worse, unless someone else has a better plan for finding out if the house sized spider is alive or dead?"

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith's light is a soft white.

Tanith takes his pack off and hands it to Horgus ."Food ,water, and more importantly flint and steel and torches are in there. I'm going with these two to check out the spider and my light goes with me. Oh if I don't die I'll want that back so take good care of it alright?"

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"I serve my lord Ragathiel - the General of Vengeance. I'm sorry to say that I think my lord will be extra busy this day. I'm Tanith Petrovich, come lets check and see who else can be helped. I feel the need to leave this place quickly.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Tanith channels healing energy before even getting to his feet, casts light on his shield and then moves to where he can help the most people and channels again.

channel healing: 1d6 ⇒ 4
channel healing: 1d6 ⇒ 4

"Well" he says softly, mostly to himself, "at least I didn't end up in jail this time."

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

It sounds fine but I never have any luck with either.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Yep, but I was starting to wonder.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

"Not good." Tanith makes sure no one is standing behind him. It isn't his first. Armasse and he's hated them all. The crowds and the noise make it impossible to watch every potential threat properly. Still, this year at least he's managed to keep his sword in his scabbard. With a little bit of luck he won't finish Armasse in jail for brandishing his weapon in public ... again.

"It is either the work of the Gods or a plot against one or all us . Blind chance is much less likely." Tanith is tall, but not reaching Niesen's great height. His dark hair is cut short to better fit under his helmet to his heavy armor. His hazel eyes scan his surrounding over and over as if looking for something...or as if he doesn't trust what he's seeing.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

Good to go.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

With a 25 pt build I was going to run Heinrich instead of Tanith, but I realized that their are no clerics in the party. So I added the 5 extra points to Tanith's Wisdom and will update his sheet so that he's a cleric of Ragatheil.

Male Human (Varisian) Cleric 1

It looks like I haven't weighed in on point buy yet. I created Tanith here for the 20 pt buy. I'll be happy to run him, I think he'll be useful and fun to play, I've run characters that were very like him in many different game systems for more than 20 years. I can make him work.

Hienrich my submission to the original thread works out to be a 28pt buy under the guidelines were using now. I couldn't make him work at 20pts to my satisfaction so I started over. I could make him work at 25pts and be happy. Heinrich was/is my first real attempt at an archer in any system. I was looking forward to seeing how things work out with him.

I'm happy either way, I think if my vote was needed as a tiebreaker I would vote for 25 pts, but please only consider it for tie breaking purposes.
