Female Human Titan Mauler 5

SOrry guys, I have to back out of this game.

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori hefts her swords and takes point, knowing that she has the most HP and DPS output if the whole raiding party.

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori shrugs. "Another tank would be nice. Eira is an amazing dodger, though we need someone to soak up the damage for us."

She then turns to Eira. "What do you think?"

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

"Well, other than the leafy-slicey-pointy-hurty-thingy, I'm all good. Only down a few points. What about the rest of you guys?"

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

[HP 83/92]

Talori hoists her massive swords.

"Alright, lets get a move on."

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Talori backflips away from the tree just as it unleashes its flurry of leaves, leaving her unmarred.

"You know that you don't actually hurt, right Hornfell?"

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori, still with that maniacal grin spread across her face, continues disenbranching the tree.

POWAH ATTACK: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (14) + 19 = 33
DAMAGE!: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (2, 8) + 19 = 29

POWAH ATTACK: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
DAMAGE!: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (4, 4) + 19 = 27

Talori jumps in the air and hacks off a massive branch, twirls, and uses both of her swords to take out another one.

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

DAMN.

Talori is a monster.

Every other round, when she kills an enemy, every ally gets a +5 bonus (not stackable, sadly, will look that up) to their attack and damage.

And then she can deal massive damage with her dragon swords...

That tournament is going to be a massive gold farm for her...

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

As Talori takes down the golem, she lets out a vast roar, one that should not be able to come from meager human lungs.

Gavin:

As an information broker, you can probably recognize the roar as a sound bite from the opening sequence of a mid-level boss, the Dragonne-which Talori is famous for taking down on the first day of official launch.

Everybody gets a +5 to attack and damage for five rounds.

She then rushes at the reaper tree, a maniacal grin on her face.

Powah Attack 1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38
Damage: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (3, 8) + 19 = 30

Crit Threat: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34
Damage: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (3, 4) + 19 = 26

Powah Attack 2: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (3) + 19 = 22
Damage: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (6, 4) + 19 = 29

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Fort Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Fort Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Talori turns toward one of the carrion golems and gives a wicked smile.

Then both of her blades begin to glow red, and she rushes at the shambling pile of corpses, hoping to SMAAAAAAAAASH IT!

POWER ATTACK!: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26
POWER ATTACK DAMAGE!: 2d8 + 11 ⇒ (6, 8) + 11 = 25

BONECRUSHER POWER ATTACK!!!: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
SUPER DAMAGE!: 2d8 + 6d6 + 11 ⇒ (5, 8) + (5, 6, 2, 3, 5, 1) + 11 = 46

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori sighs. "Shall we just... I don't know, actually get ON with the raid instead of arguing?! Redfang and Goldclaw are itching for a good fight. I don't care if that idiot over there-no offense-doesn't know the basics of the game, it looks like he's about our level. We're going to need all hands on deck for this baby, so shall we get on with it?"

I won't be on for weekend/Labor Day. Feel free to bot me.

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori turns to the rest of the group. "So, I forgot a piece of basic logic with my tanking set: you won't accumulate Threat unless you actually do some damage, which my set completely cripples. A massive AR
won't do you any good unless the monster actually decides to focus on you. I'll be taking melee DPS, along with some basic debuffing. We need tanks. I'll send another PM to the Knights if any of you guys can't fill that role, although I'd rather not. Our guild needs some fame, after all."

A trade request pops up in front of everybody.

Talori the Dragonne wants to trade a Capture Crystal for 0 gold with you. Do you accept.

"After doing a few favors for the Knights, I got these babies. They can capture up to three blades apiece, and hold them for five hours. Take them, I'll gather we'll need them."

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori walks into the arena.

"Awwww, what a cute little-OHGODS! THE PAIN! THE HORRIBLE PAIN! ARRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!"

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori is at the entrance to the forest, hefting her two massive swords. "Ready if you are."

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Talori had dissappeared for a little while. Nobody knew why. When she came back, you notice a few new status effects under her bar. She shrugs at Argus. "In case you're wondering, I was getting a tanking set."

New status effects are two blocks with shields crossed by swords in them, named "Shield of Swings," and the other one depicts two crossed swords.

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

"Oooo, a tournament! I'm in... That is, after we clear the dungeon and diassemble whatever evil plot the blades have cookin' now," Talori says eagerly.

Testing:

Power Attack 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Damage: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (6, 2) + 12 = 20

Power Attack 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Damage: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (1, 5) + 12 = 18

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

I won't be on for a few days. If I am on for some reason, it's because I was lucky.

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

MURDERHOBOS UNITE!!!!!

*SHOOTS LAZERZ FROM BEEG SWORD*

Female Human Titan Mauler 5

Still here.. The game I was using Talori's alias for died out, so she's back in business.

Also... SECOND SEASON!!! SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Finally!

Whoa... Level 7? Hmmm... Might have to think about that. But still, ought to be fun!

...Cricket, it's your ball for the backstory...

Talorek, Talori is kneeling, crying, not standing proudly. But not that big of a difference.

Part the Fouth: Scales:

Beyond the haze of tears, rage, and sadness, Talori sees arrows thwack into the remaining bandits. She remains kneeling, crying, and the waraxe dissipates and the amethyst retreats into the crystals. She is quite dumbfounded. All she manages is to get out a small "Thank you," before passing out.

GM Oculus Crystalarum wrote:

Sorry everyone, my friends threw me a surprise party yesterday because of how crappy things have been lately, which is why I didn't post.

I WILL POST RACES LATER! SORRY FOR THE DELAY!

BEFORE I POST CHARACTER CREATION RULES LATER, HOW DOES EVERYONE FEEL ABOUT THE MEGACAMPAIGN IDEA TALORI PROPOSED?

Also, magic is embraced in the crystal desert, because the crystal sands warp psionics (Sort of like Primal Magic or Wild Magic,).

Alexgndl, no set time until the above megacampaign idea is voted on and character creation is put up. And no particular format for story, ect.

Rynjin, it extends to all magic, though the people of the Clockwork Emirate in the crystal desert think the reverse: magic is the way to go and psionics are a curse (Despite that they all have the power, the sands effects make it madness to pursue! Plus, sometimes manifesting powers in the desert can cause hemorrhages because of the power surging through the body, augmented by the crystalline sands!). Alchemy, at least most of it, is viewed as science and for the most part has no stigma. As far as supernatural abilities, it depends on how blatant they are and how good you are at convincing others that they are not magic. As far as whether people recognize you or not, it depends on how overt you are (If you show up in a village with spells active or robes burning with blue arcane sigils, it's obvious!), so discretion is key. Beware though, some major cities have 'augurs' to help root out magic, sort of like the templars from Dragon Age with a more sagely bent and very powerful psionic powers.

PSIONIC/MAGIC TRANSPARENCY IS UP FOR VOTE! I currently vote no, because it would reinforce WHY magic is still practiced by those with the gift and those who are mad or bold enough to study it or otherwise willingly seek it... there is little to no defense against it, save by other magical beings, which are exceedingly rare.

NO on the transparency. Psionics > magic seems a vital part of the campaign world, and I don't want to mess that up. Anyways... on with the epic story! (Sorry if Part the Second wasn't very good, I was incoherent and needed sleeeep.)

And, this is her gems and the material her armor is made out of.

Out of curiosity... How many people are doing a Soulknife/Aegis combo?

Part the Third: First Blood:

The first signs of dawn graced the desert. As sunlight trickled out of the horizon and onto the sand, the crystals awoke and filled the desert with a staggering brilliance. Talori smiled at the beautiful landscape held before her. The whole of the Psionic Wastes never seemed dull or lusterless, and it was worth its beauty despite the horrors that dwelt within.

However, Talori soon trudged on through the crystal sand. The day was getting longer, and heat would soon haze the wastes.

Talori continued on in the same direction for a few weeks. She had been training to be a hunter, and was handy with a rock. For some reason, all of the hard crystals she found were extremely sharp and refined, allowing for easy kills. She chose not to dwell on such mysteries, and focus on staying alive.

After a month, while miraculously surviving, Talori found her way out of the desert. She was enraptured immediately. So many new things! The strange, wavy plants on the ground, the huge, solid plants, the rolling hills... She spent a solid ten minutes just gawking. After that, without deliberation, she went exploring!

So many new things! There was a strange dirt line through the hills, wide enough for five camels to pass through. An arrow-shaped sign with strange symbols on it pointed one way. Strangely excited, Talori decided to follow it.

She walked for a while, eyes shining, wondering at all of the new and exciting things. Talori failed to notice the men in black sneaking out from behind the tree..

Suddenly, Talori was surrounded. One of the men made strange noises, and began cackling. Talori replied [b"Who are you?! Nice to meet you! My name is Talori! What's yours?!"[/b] Unfortunately for her, the language of her tribe sounded very guttural and threatening, and the men, before taking a step back, charged. Talori screamed in panic, and then, her crystals began to crackle, and amethyst began to envelop her entire body. She was clad in completely amethyst armor. Screaming at her own sudden change and the bandits rushing toward her, she reflexively grabbed for anything to use against them... and found a handle. A massive axe of pure, white energy manifested in her hand, and she instinctively swung out at one of the bandits. He cried out as he was cleft in twain, and Talori stared in shock. She had just killed a man. She began crying. She had just killed a man! Talori didn't care that the bandits were approaching, and she knelt, crying her heart out: that she was alone, that she was separated from her tribe, that she had gotten the little ones killed, that she had strange and terrible powers, and that she had just killed a man...

Now, I need somebody-preferably with a good or neutral alignment-to come and rescue Talori. Would anybody like to step up?

GM Oculus Crystalarum wrote:

Ok everyone, I will get races by request posted soon! Let me go through and answer questions first!

REMEMBER! ONLY ONE HALF OF THE GESTALT HAS TO BE PSIONIC! THOSE WHO WANT MAGIC, REMEMBER THAT MAGIC IS VIEWED IN A VERY NEGATIVE LIGHT! YOU WOULDN'T BE EXECUTED FOR NO REASON, BUT THE BURDEN OF SUSPICION WOULD BE ON YOU ALWAYS!

Two psionic classes in a gestalt give one combined pool.

Jimibones, I could stat up the Doppelganger race for you. Also, once I select characters I will make a 'dummy recruitment' for the campaign.

Redblade8, yes ACG is an option if you are amenable to changing your stats later if the final version is different than the playtest.

Cr500cricket, any alignment is fine as long as you can make it work and keep up group cohesion.

Talori, how does that work? Is it all in one thread or is it in multiple threads? Never ran one, so I am clueless! :/

Tenro, what were the rolls for? Stats are point buy! :)

Azten, yes I do! Why do you ask?

Multiple threads. I'll put DM Grimmy in contact with you on how to do it. Also, helpful link..

Feats/skills/combat/rest of the backstory up soon, got to go for now.

And a mega campaign is a lot of players running around in a massive world that you create, meeting up with other characters to form temporary parties that go on adventures that are about 1/3 the length of an AP volume, that occasionally touch on the main plot. If a player has a storyline tied to his character, he can go on his own and progress with that, or go with other characters and go on the main plot. For example, in the Lost Lands Mega-Campaign Grimmy is running, the main plot is Orcus trying to rise and walk the earth again. However, my character, Talric, has his own little storyline in which he has to take the heads of three powerful foes and bring them to his tribe to gain chieftainship.

Does that clear it up a bit? It's actually a bit like PFS, but with a smaller group of people, and your actions impact the world more directly.

Gestalt AND Mythic.

And, holy shmoly... ZOMG SO MANY RACES!!!!! Can't wait to see you stat up all of those suckers.

Alright, here goes nothing (first part, warning, probably posting multiple installments.)

Part the First: Wasted:

Two elans sat facing each other, in perfect stillness. The forest creatures around them chittered, completely peaceful, and the canopy filtered out a gentle, golden light from the noonday sun. One was in simple brown robes, and had flowing silver hair and beard. He was of medium stature, and energy was practically bursting out of his form. The other was in languid red robes, adorned with flames and sprinkled with the dust of topaz. He was clean shaven, and his red hair stood straight up.

Then, the one in brown dropped to the ground. The red one smiled.

The forest was silent for a moment.

And suddenly, vast waves of unbound psionic energy flew forth from the clearing, decimating anything and everything in its path.

All became dust.

Except for one tiny, crystalline psicrystal.

It remained.
[/spoier]

[spoiler=Part the Second: Lost]
The Psionic Wastes were an enigma. A dust desert, nothing grew there, and only the most hardy peoples survived for long. And yet it exploded with wild psionic energy.

Anything that was manifested there got lost in the massive psychic storm, and responded back with massive psionic whiplash. Strange astral predators prowled the desert, homing in on concentrations on psychic who dare make their presence be known.

In simple words, a death trap for psions.

Yet some people persist.

A tribe of (half giants or Athenians, can't decide) wanders through the desert. This was their home before the Clash. It is their home. It will always be their home. They will not abandon it.

The tribe has settled in to a large, newly discovered oasis: food is bountiful and fresh, they have more water than they know what to do with, and the children are happy for the first time in years.

Ah, yes, the children. One particular group is straying far from camp, laughing and cavorting. Their parents call them back, but they pay them no heed. The laugh and play for a long time, and then they eventually get tired. But the camp is nowhere in sight, even though they had strayed fewer than one hundred armlengths from the camp.

One of the smaller ones tugged on a tall girl's tunic. "Talori... I'm scared."

Talroi smiled kindly and the little one. "It's okay, Ikirma. We'll find our way back to camp. Think of this as a grand adventure!" The little one smiled weakly, and Talori looked worriedly back at where the camp was. She was only twenty-five years old. How could the young half-giant shepard a group of children through the Waste?

Talori begins to set up tents-it was standard procedure to always carry your personal effects with you in case you had to pack up suddenly-and get the children to bed. Tending to the fire, Talori eventually fell into an uneasy sleep as well.

She awoke to screaming. Young Ikirma was convulsing in her sleep. Her cries grew weaker and weaker, until they stopped altogether. Talori dashed to her tent in the midnight shadows. She was still breathing, thankfully. Talori tried to shake Ikrima awake. "C'mon, sweetie. Wake up. It was just a nightmare. Wake up." She wouldn't stir. Fearing the worst, Talori pried the young half-giant's eyes open. Glassy, and dead. Living death... Mind eaters.

Talori bolted out of the flap, and began yelling into the night. "Everybody pack up! We have to leave NOW!" But it was too late. The screams of the mind eater's victims echoed throughout the camp. Talori recalled Elder Nakiro's teachings: Mind eaters always go for the youngest. They have more imagination. It tastes sweet to them. Talori ran out of the camp, crying. If she got far enough, perhaps the mind eaters would ignore her... What am I kidding? They are relentless. The only escape is death.

As she ran into the darkness, the thought eaters found a veritable feast: the massive psionic power contained within a buried crystal. Talori gasped as she felt the though eaters' presence slip away...
But since when could she feel the presence of such things?

Talori fell to the ground, losing herself in a swirling maelstorm of energy. A single, shining light pierced the darkness. A crystal. Struggling through the storm, Talori found it, and grasped it... And she awoke with a gasp. Her hands and shoulders had diamonds embedded in them.

She wasted no thought on such strange things. She still had to survive. Her practical side taking over, pushing the whimsical to the side, Talori marched across the desert...

I'm giving you a lot to work with for that backstory... Hope I helped add to the setting :)

Also, looking at the massive variety of races, I would propose a mega-campaign. I'm playing in one right now, and it's pretty much a pool of players with one or two characters running around in the world, meeting each other and going on adventures. They maybe be one, two, or maybe even three overarching plots, but you touch lightly on them and give clues as to what's really going on every adventure. Much like PFS, actually. If a certain player wants to stop some BBEG, than he can go off on his/her own, and make waves, rather than ripples, in the world.

Talk to DM Grimmy if you're interested.

I'm in-though I'm probably going to have to restructure Talori a bit.

Yeah, like with most of the people here, I would need to make a few character adjustments if we switched APs: personally, I would vote for two tables of RotRL, although if we voted two different APs, I would like JR, then WotR, in order of preference.

I would love to be in RotRL... But I've been really wanting to play WotR. RotRL is preferred, in any case.

Yep, recruitment's closed. Sorry.

Talori follows Tal.

Talori looks dumbfounded when the elf whispers in her ear, but regains her compuse quickly and begins talking.

"You're right about one thing: their den probably has plastered with my image across every visible surface, though I doubt they could've found me barely twenty minutes after I walked into town. And I wouldn't worry about them seeing me for now... I blasted their neural pathways so hard with psychic energy, I'm betting that it ended up rebounding and damaging some of their brain, and probably throwing the memories of the last few minutes out the window. And hopefully, whatever underboss I pissed off doesn't know about my powers-and if that were the case, well, we're all in deep $h¡t anyways because they know about the primary asset at our disposal-my powers."

Taking a deep breath, Talori turns to Lena. "Whether you like it or not, Lena, he's probably our best option. I'd rather not be in a public place with the Scarzni lurking 'bout everywhere."

Whirling back towards Talathel, Talori says "It's a deal, Mr...?"

Both of the adults in the conversation can tell, beneath the flamboyant hat, Talori is smiling. Regaining her composure, she looks Talathel straight in the eye and says "Indeed. You should probably know the saying by now-'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned-' or in this case, interrupted."

Sorry, Buzz... I have spats of depression all of the time. And no, I'm not making that up to make you feel better.

Good luck, everybody!

May the Force-I mean the magic-I mean psionics be with you!

"Brilliant work there, citizen."

She rushes off after Talori.

Covers 80 ft. due to being medium encumbered.

Talori sees Vladlena, and curses herself for being thoughtless. She slows down a bit, and turns back to the detective. "Sorry there, I've been a little paranoid ever since the Scarzni caught me hiding out in Korvosa. Anyways, he should unfreeze about... now." Talori slows down a bit to keep up with Vladlena, then turns around. *Sighs.* "I should probably apologize."

Talori starts walking back towards Talathel, and eyes downturned, begins speaking. "I'm sorry. I've been hunted by an illegitimate authority for a while now, and lashing out like that has become an instinct to me. Again, I apologize. Those goons have actually always been here-local branch of the Scarzni gang, as far as I can tell."

I suppose (even though I thought I made the suppression rolls. I'll do that anyways.

Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Suppression Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Okay, when the bandits fell, two bass notes resounded throughout the bar. Used the psionic focus in Tally and my psionic focus to pay for the PP cost of two of the bandits, leaving me with two PP.

Talori turns around at the sound of the elf's voice. "Damn! And why should I believe you, pal?" Suddenly, Talathel's mind is overwhelmed with fear, joy, happiness, and rage, all at once...

DC 15 will or be dazed for two rounds.

Talori wastes no time with snarky comments and runs full tilt out of there.

Covers 160 ft.

Uh, Talathel, we are long gone... and there are only two of us...and did you even make your sense motive?

Talori gives a smile-her dimples show that she is well practiced in doing so-and follows Lena. "Nice to meet you, Lena."

Seeing the gleam in Lena's eyes as she talked about psionics, Talori says "If you want to learn more about psionics, I can teach you a little bit if you want." Talori pulls a tome full of notes, marks, and dogears out of her pack and shows it to Lena. "This is a compilation of notes-both my mentor's and mine-about psionics. When we have time, you can study it if you want."

Going to put my extra Nemesis skill rank in Knowledge (psionics) so she can viably teach you. If it's okay with the GM, I'd say it would give a +5 bonus for checks if given six hours to study it. I don't really see that skill being useful-except maybe with my story arc-so it should hopefully be okay. Mainly for flavor.

Vladlena can tell that Talori is appreciating being treated like an actual kid. If she looks closely, she sees Talori is about fifteen, fifteen and a half, maybe?

Considering that all of these people want to play RotRL, I'd say go with 1. However, if the overwhelming majority says 2 APs, I would prefer RoW or JR.

Also, I believe me, Trygvve, and Vladlena are a package deal, considering the dynamic between us three.

I would also suggest increasing enemies, health, and BaB by 150% to provide a challenge for such a large group.

And thank you for considering my suggestion :3

Talori leads Vladlena to an alleyway behind the inn. She looks around furtively, then words start spewing out of her mouth like a geyser. "Okay, to start off, my name is Talori Lyons. You heard about the parts about my origins and the loan sharks, so I'll tell you the stuff I don't like shouting to the rest of the world. To start off, I'm a wilder. I'm a type of psionicist-somebody who uses the power of their mind, soul, or in my case, emotions, to manifest amazing powers that may seem like magic to a layman. Wilders are a rare few, even rarer than psions, because we are simply born with the gift rather than having to train for it. Anyways, on with my story. A couple years back, I played against a psion who found my key to success: I was unconsciously emitting psionic energy that messed with my opponent's head, rendering them unable to think straight. So, the guy took me under his wing, and helped me recognize and refine my talent. Several days ago, I completed my training, and was awarded my equipment and Tally, my psicrystal, as a reward. Say hello, Tally." The strange, perfectly cut dodecahedronal emerald on the pommel of her sword glowed in greeting. "A psicrystal is a part of my psyche bound to a crystal. It enhances my capabilities. Anyways, you know about me getting drunk and losing all of my money. Now, however, I realize exactly who I messed with. The biggest gang in Varisia: the Scarzni. I don't know why they came after me so hard, but I know it must've been big. And, yeah, I was the one who knocked out the men." Talori looks slightly sheepish as she says this. "Anyways, is there any way you can help me?"

As a professionsal investigator, Vladlena should know that making loans is a common Scarzni practice for laundering money. They hand the dirty money to the unlucky fellow, they take his coins, and they walk away clean while the helpless victim is busted by the police. The coinage must've been really dirty to alert even the local gang in Sandpoint to come after her.

I hope the GM will make multiple tables, like I suggested...

That warrior at the bar has a strange demeanor. If I can rule out the girl for the time being, I should start watching other possible suspects....

Vladlena turns back towards Talori. "Are you here by yourself, darling?" Vladlena looks rather distressed by the notion.

Vladlena slowly repositions herself so that she can continuing speaking to Talori, while also having an eye on the mysterious man at the bar, pretending that she is just getting into a position that does not block passage between tables.

Talori suddenly felt a fresh surge of hope as the woman laid her hand on her shoulder. She suddenly felt like no more lies. Maybe she could tell the woman later about the men, but for now, she didn't want to ruin the moment. She seemed like the mother Talori never had. "Yes, miss. After losing lots of gold in a Towers tournament, I had to borrow from some loan sharks. I couldn't pay back in time, so I had to get out of Dodge."

Talori suddenly looks a bit worried, and Vladlena, being a detective, can easily pick up the scent of a possible case. "Uh... miss? Um, I want to talk to you about something, preferably in private."

Talori starts as everybody starts mentioning that... and then that one gal's suggestion. Oh, @$!$. This was bad. Talori fights to hold down her growing panic. Even though I had nothing to do with that incident... that gal doesn't look like she'd do anything pleasant.

She then approaches them and pretends to look surprised to see the gang mark on their forearm. "Interesting. These guys look like... Scarzni." Suddenly, everything clicked together in Talori's head. Oh, gods. What had she gotten herself embroiled in here?! She messed with the Scarzni!

She tries to appear cool and calm.

Taking 10 on bluff, for a total of 19.

Yeah, Wilders are pretty awesome blasters. I once played in a short lived campaign where my friend played an Elan Wilder, who literally 'screamed' blasts of psychic energy. It was hell'a metal. Funny thing was I was playing this same character and was planning on multi-classing into soulknife...

Also, Tryggve has a key symbolizing his ties to the group, but he has it packed away and doesn't show it unless necessary. Honestly, GM, if you choose one of us, you've got to choose the other as well!

"Well," Tryggve nodded, raising a leg of cooked meat to Talori. "That's as good a reason as any, I suppose. If you've ever tried salted mutton, it's a bit expensive, but if anything has good taste, its that." He wasn't about to pry too much into Talori's background; the had just met, afterall, and its not like he would share his own less savory experiences with someone he didn't know too much about. Non-the-less, he was enjoying her company, almost letting himself smile in content.

Taking a bite out of his portion of food, he continued. "And no offense, but I hope you learned your lesson; loans are a load of crap, don't take them unless it keeps you alive longer..."

Fortunately for Talori, Tryggve hadn't met with a Sczarni in over half a month, so he knew nothing of her laundering rumors. However, now that he was done with his annual trip and in a town with a contact...

"By the way," he asked curiously. "I haven't heard much about Kaer Maga, but isn't that some big city in the mountains or something?"

Talori nods. "Mhm. Pretty rough place, actually. City of outcasts."

Finishing up her food, Talori yawns slightly. "Mmmm, decent food for a place like this." Suddenly, the gem in her sword starts to glow slightly... and Talori's attention is suddenly turned towards the new patrons trickling in. Oh $h!t. She could see one of them had a tatoo of the gang's symbol. Mustering her courage, Talori simply kept on chewing her food...

...and abruptly, all four fell to the ground, unconscious. "Interesting..." Talori mutters, trying to make it seem like she had nothing to do with the unconscious men.

Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Buzzgob:

A massive surge of psychic energy bursts forth from Talori, manifesting itself into four spikes of pure psychic power and driving themselves into the men's nexus, knocking them out.

So, Talori's role is kind of a wingwoman for anybody. She has a good blast manifestation, a decent dazing manifestation, and a manifestation that will let the sneaky people sneak around better (-4 on Perception and Sense Motive vs. Target). Talori is an amazing face (she has all of the skills necessary for it) and has a decent AC, attack bonus, and damage roll. Basically, she's whatever she needs to be at that moment.

Also, are there any visible signs of Trygvve being a Scarzni?

Talori continues to munch on her food. "Never really traveled much, to be honest. I got run out of Kaer Maga a week back. I got drunk at a tournament one night, got cocky, and lost tons of money. I turned to loan sharks. It was pretty much out of the frying pan and into the fire after that. I went on the run, unable to scrounge up enough money in time to pay the sharks back with interest. Don't know why they've been traveling half of a continent to get me, though."

"As for food? Well, I was raised on the streets. Eventually crawled my way out of the muck by gambling. I've always appreciated good food-and a lot of it."

As Talori tells her story, Trygvve can probably start remembering something a contact told him: Yeah, this little girl. Crucial in laundering some dirty money. Really dirty money. She skipped town on us about a week back. One thing you can remember about her are those glowing, golden eyes-and her penchant for towers. Didn't catch her name, though. The boss in on the run right now, actually. If you see her, catch her.

Here's my suggestion: because of all of the awesome characters running amok here, I would suggest that you run two, maybe even three tables if you feel like you can't let go of a few concepts. That way, almost all of the people here get in.

Winnings: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 4) + 10 = 15 +5 from my Profession: Gambler.

Talori orders another mound of food, then excuses her self.

Walking outside, she spots the blind bum from earlier. Talori walks the man around town, buying him some decent clothes, then heads back in and treats him to the pile of food she just ordered.

Talori then walks to the bar and starts hashing out a deal with the owner. Eventually, the young woman secures the blind man a position as bartender-apparently, he was only slightly blind-and walks back to the table, and orders even more food for herself, saving enough money for a room for the night. "Hey, I had to ration out three days worth of food over a week's worth of arduous travel. I have the right to feel a little ravenous," she says in between mouthfuls.

I was under the impression that it could go either way. And, man! I hope that the GM selects both of us for the shenanigans that ensue. And, if Trygvve is part of Scarzni, then he's probably heard a vague, distorted description of the person who screwed the boss over... Though it probably won't connect until the goons come after her.

Added Story Feat: Nemesis to her profile! Talori is up against-even if she doesn't know it yet-the leader of the Scarzni. She threw a wrench in a critical money-laundering deal. If everything didn't go as planned, Guaril would become a hunted man-and now he is. Now, he trains and sends agents to kill that annoying little girl. She gains 2 extra HP per level.

The hand played out quickly. Talori overbluffed the sap, and she snagged some of his silver when he fled.

The young woman leaned in and said "Hey, I forgot to ask for your name. Mine's Talori, if you're curious." She almost flagged a bartender for some food, but then again, the place probably served nothing but crap. Talori flagged him down anyways, and exchanged two silvers for a massive pile of food: which she devoured in one minute.

Talori then returned her attention to the game.

I believe you lost both, you forgot to factor in my addition from the Aid Another on myself from Profession: Gambler. Also, -4 on your SM for your next turn.

Aid Another (SM): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Aid Another (Bluff): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Again, taking ten on my two main rolls.

Throughout the game, Talori's face remains an impassive mask. She wouldn't seem alive except for the fact that she moved her hands to make the towers.

Hoboy. This idiot is going to earn me some gold tonight. Talori's stomach rumbled. Probably should spend some of it on food. Her stomach growled. Okay, a lot of it on food. The road definitely wrung a few pounds off of me.

Giving a charming smile, Talori teaches him how to play.

Opposed Sense Motive and Bluff checks. You can take 10 if you want to. If you fail, you hand over 1d6... Let's say silver. You can give up, or you can play for 13 hands. You can use Profession: Gambler to aid another on yourself on each of these checks.

The young woman suddenly seems very... Professional. She quickly deals, and the game begins.

Taking 10 on everything, for 19 in my bluff, and 18 in my Sense Motive

Aid Another (Bluff): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Aid Another (Sense Motive): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

So, 21 in my Bluff, 20 in my Sense Motive.

Talori remembered an old truism one of her mentors had taught her. The cards don't matter. They're just something to do with your hands while you play the actual game. Your hand doesn't matter. You can turn it into anything you want. It's how you read your opponent that matters.

Talori stares intently at the man's face, seeming to try to read him. Your brain starts to feel slightly fuzzy, as if you've had one too many.

DC 15 Will or take a -4 on your Sense Motive.

Talori adds two silver to the pot, not saying a word.

Prepare for your ass to get whooped! Now to get you slightly inebriated... And cocky. MWAHAHAHAHA!
