"Indeed, your statement implies that you, the Duskwardens, have a method to determine what tunnels are unexplored...a map perhaps?" Tal'Zeneb says quietly.

Tal'Zeneb follows the others into the Duskwarden's fortess with great interest, having never had the opportunitye to enter before.

He follows along , watching the interplay bewteen the guard and Kyren.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

Tal'Zeneb had been fascinated by the metaphysical discussion that had taken place and now found himself looking forward to the next adventure.

"Strange the effect these Wee Bluets have had on me. I now relish the strange and outlandish events they seem to attract. Blessed Pharasma, was wonders await!

Glancing at the obstinate Wayang, Tal says "Kenta, this endeavour is sure to fail without our porcine saviour, Buta!"

Having refresh both his soul and body at the Ossuary, Tal'Zeneb made his farewells to his brothers and made the trek across Kaer Maga at dawn.

He took his time, for the city was beautiful at that time of day, many just waking for the day's labours, other returning from the nights debaucheries; all washed with the first strains of daylight, red, then orange then finally the fine yellow fullness of daylight.

Uncharacteristically, Tal was humming a Riddleport river shanty as he entered the Revive to hear the last half of Ferranel's lecture.

its never dull around the Wee Bluets....thank you Blessed Pharasma

Tal nods to Vaughn and the others and takes a place at the table, intent upon the conversation before them.

Whoops, forgot to level Tal, will do so tomorrow.

Tal'Zeneb had been following the conversation, considering each arguement in turn.

At Vaughn's statement he adds "Though the prospect of amusement is uncertain, the prospect of danger is not. I will accompany the Wee Bluets , if you'll have me. I have read about these serpents, first hand observations would be valued by my order. I will return shortly, I must report on our encounter with the Child Goddess cult"

Tal then rises, nods to each of the Wee Bluets and makes his way to the Ossuary, to make his report and pray for guidance from Pharasma.

Tal'Zeneb tastes one of the cookies, then addresses Berry "Though our association was a short one, I count myself fortunate to have accompanied you on these recent adventures. Pharasma grant you long life." he intones with a short bow.

Dusting off his robes, Tal'Zeneb takes the hands of a two of the children and says "Well, that was interesting. Let's go , shall we?" smiling down upon the child on each arm

Tal'Zeneb actually begins to enjoy his descent and a smile begins to form on his usually stoic face when the pyramid begins to disintegrate.

Growing alarmed he waves his hands about trying to maneoever himself through the air.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14

Tal'Zeneb uses soft words of encouragement to get the children to allow Alcheringa to swoop them out of the crumbing pyramid.

Tal'Zeneb frowns at the sight of the frightened children , he approaches and extends his hand to one of the eldest.

"Come, child. Let us away from here, a new life free from servitude as a child goddess awaits you."

Diplomacy 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

As he waits , in case any of the children were nursing any hurts, he draws upon his inner strength and his connection to Pharasma and causes a wave of warmth and calm to emanate from himself.

Channel Positive Energy
3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2) = 13 +7 = 20 healed by everyone in range.

Whoops....sry bout that

Nodding to himself that Vaughn has responded well to his healing magic,
Tal quickly slots a new bolt into his crossbow and fires at the imposing sentry

attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
damage 1d8 ⇒ 2

Tal'Zeneb frowns as he see the spray of blood fly from Vaughn as the massive sentry hit him hard. Glad to see the man still on his feet, he is nonetheless gravely wounded.

Taking a deep breath ,Tal measures the deadly dance before him, timing his move carefully; thankfully his speed was greatly enhanced by Kyren's spell.

Darting forward as Vaughn comes close, Tal briefly passes his hand along the mans back whispering "Blessed Pharasma, aid your faithful servant, preserve this man's journey through life. "

Spontaneous Conversion of Zone of Truth to Cure Moderate wounds

4d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 1) + 12 = 20 + 10 empowered healing = 30

He then springs back out of the combat zone.

Tal'Zeneb watches the fighters spring into action, astounded at their speed and ferocity in taking down the priestess.

Seeing that none have incurred any injury, he steadies his aim and fires a crossbow bolt at the behemoth.

Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage 1d8 ⇒ 6

After skidding to a stop and maintaining his balance, Tal'Zeneb's arms move in a mystical manner , an imprecation to Pharasma on his lips. He then points at the priestess and utters a word of admonition.

Silence, DC 18

Acrobatics
1d20 ⇒ 20

Tal'Zeneb look particularly graceful in adjusting to the tilting floor

Blinking his eyes to adjust to the new reality he sees, Tal'Zeneb smiles and looks to the others.

"Indeed, I was right. Concentrate, the tall stairs are an illusion. There is only a normal flight of stairs here."

"I suspect we are the brunt of a clever trick while the children suffer...."

Will Save??
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Tal'Zeneb looks up, way up, at the ascending stairs.

With hands on his hips he declares "Either this is a great and powerful magic, or we've been fooled by an illusion."

Seeing that Alcheringa was having difficulty and with Kyren's shrill bleating ringing in his ears, Tal'Zeneb hurries back to assist.

Fort Save 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Tal'Zeneb smiles at Kyren's inimitable humor, brushing the leaves aside with annoyance; flexing his hands as the numbness strikes then slowly subsides.

Tal'Zeneb waits patiently for his opportunity to fly Vaughn-Air.

Watching the cloud curiously, Tal'Zeneb wonders about its ability to drain strength, similar to some undead.

Reaching within him, he draws upon the grace of Pharasma and projects an aura of positive energy.

Channel Positive Energy all in 30ft heal 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5) = 10, if undead take damage DC:21

ZZ, wondering if Tal's healing empower ability extends to the healing/damage from the channel. If so add 5 to heal/damage

Trotting alongside Kyren , Tal'Zeneb responds "The Pale Lady rewards her servants with many gifts, friend Kyren, I am blessed to be so fortunate. Others are granted similiar power, each as to his need"

Arriving in the room of the crystal structure, Tal regards the pyramid with curiosity.

Knowledge (religion) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Knowledge (Undead) 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Stopping for Vaughn, Tal'Zeneb says "Of course, Vaughn, my apologies for not attending to your injuries earlier."

Laying his hand over Vaughn's injury, his solemnly intones "Grey Lady, grant your servant this boon, assuage our companion's injuries that he may continue his fight against evil and injustice."

Cure moderate Wounds (empowered) 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12 + 6 = 18 hp healed

Tal'Zeneb doesn't spare the treasure a second glance but hurries after the others.

Tal'Zeneb steps up to the former guardian and kneels by its side. Placing a hand on its brow he says "Sleep now, the Pale Lady embraces you."

He then rises and follows the others.

Tal'Zeneb spares the apparition a glance, then strides calmly over to Alcheringa.

Laying his hand on the shape-changed Druid's bloodied flank, Tal says "Pale Lady, grant your servant succor in his time of hurt and injury."

Cure Serious Wounds(empowered) , 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 8, 6) + 6 = 21 + 12 = 36 healed

Tal'Zeneb spares the apparition a glance, then strides calmly over to Alcheringa.

Laying his hand on the shape-changed Druid's bloodies flank, Tal says "Pale Lady, grant your servant succor in his time of hurt and injury."

Cure Serious Wounds(empowered) , 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5, 7) + 6 = 24 + 12 = 36 healed

Seeing as it would be unlikely for him to be able to touch the now wounded Alcheringa; locked as he is in a dance of death with the pyramid-headed apparition, Tal'Zeneb focuses his will inward , drawing upon Pharasma's power - then his gaze settles on the creature and he shouts "By Pharasma's Will, you will....Hold!!!"

Hold Person DC 18

pssst, Kryen...we're still only in round 3 :)

I was waiting for Kenta :)

Round 2

Raising his hand again into the air, a small sun appears, casting its bright light about the room, stark shadows flashing upon the walls.

Thrusting his hand towards the pyramid creature, the sun turns into a stream of coruscating flame.

Searing Light, ranged touch attack 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 = 23
If normal creature damage = 2d8 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
if undead creature damage = 6d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 4, 5, 4) = 19
if construct creature damage = 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5

Don't forget Tal's Prayer is in effect, +1 on friendly rolls, -1 on enemy 5 more round left :)

Tal raises his right hand into the air, fingers outstretched. Within the area of his hand a glowing ball of light appears, growing larger until it fills the cage formed by his fingers. The coruscating , pulsing ball of light then streams to his other hand, outstretched at the Pyramid head creature. With a grunt, the light pulses once, then leaps from Tal's palm and strikes out at the creature.

Searing Light, ranged touch attack 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 = 16
If normal creature damage = 2d8 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
if undead creature damage = 6d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 5, 1, 2) = 21
if construct creature damage = 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7

Shouldn't I be second last in order?

Unperturbed by the abomination before him , Tal'Zeneb comments "It would seem the cult has some more advanced capabilities. If this is indeed an undead manifestation, they may share some skills with the necromancers... Halting his musings, he bows his head and utters a sacred prayer to Pharasma.

"Pharasma, lady of bones, protect your servant and his companions in their work against the forces of evil."

Prayer, +1 on all rolls for all allies within 40ft, -1 for enemies
Duration 6 rounds

Tal'Zeneb walks calmly up to stand beside Vaughn, his brow raised at the strength demonstrated against the door.

Looking at Laion he says "Explain what you saw ."

His lip curling in disgust as the first zombie ascended the stairs, Tal'Zeneb nonetheless muttered a quiet blessing of Pharasma as it met its final end. Closing his eyes briefly and letting out a deep breath, he resolved himself to the presence of these abominations for the time being...the children's safety was the paramount need.

"We may want to arrive before these poor unfortunate souls, they may not be as discriminating as we in whom they attack."

Unable to stop the priest before he took the next step, Tal'Zeneb is aghast at the poor man's fate.

"That was unfortunate." he says dryly "Perhaps a test of the inanimate."

He removes one of his crossbow bolts from its quiver and tosses it on the step marred by the remains of the ill-fated priest.

Tal'Zeneb grabs the priest and looks at his holy symbol. Does it have colors to match the stairwell?

Tal'Zeneb gives Vaughn a quick smile then turns his attention to the priest.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

With a muttered supplication to Pharasma, Tal'Zeneb's hand rises quickly to point at the man.

Hold Person, DC 18

Face palm :)

Spellcraft 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

LOL

Tal'Zeneb watches to conflagration of undead against the pyramid wall with great interest. As he watches ,he tries to "feel" out whether the heat generates is on of a mechanical nature or from the divine.

Tal'Zeneb joins the other in the journey to the pyramid.

From his vantage at one of the wooden tables, Kal watches the near confrontation between Bobo and Kenta with some consternation, looking visibly relieved when Vaughn soothes the situation.

"I will be able to provide support to the offensive, healing and such. Unfortunately, some of my gifts provided by Pharasma may have the effect of harming our undead allies..." Tal says with a shrug and a small smile.

Holding a serving fork out for inspection, Tal pipes up "It would also be advisable, should we gain access through subterfuge, that our "allies" have some means of identifying us from the cultists. Specifically if we are disguised as cooking staff. "

"I am glad to see you return unscathed, Alcheringa. I take it my "Father" was well and took in young Albright without delay?" Tal'Zeneb says , looking up from where he was polishing silverware.

Tal'Zeneb nods his appreciation at Berry's work cleaning; he endeavours to assist in any way needed; carrying furniture, sweeping, airing out rooms etc...

Outside Cathedral:

Leading Kyren up and out of the Cathedral, Tal'Zeneb says "My Mistress is like any god, remote and concerned with god-like concerns. My devotion to her is rewarded, as would any betrayal be punished. " Tal pauses once they reach the street in front of the Cathedral "Yes, it would be an interesting meeting. I suggest we retire to the Respite to await their return."

Cathedral:

Quote:

Once Brother Zonod departs, Kyren cheefully begins a flury of questions. "So did you learn everything you could about this cult? What does your friend Zonod do with that book? Does he carry that around wherever he goes? Is there anybody else around here who knows more information that could help us? So do you have a boss down here who you work for? It seems like you have some nice friends down here. I wonder how much they get out."

Tal'Zeneb watches Brother Zonod leave, then turn to address Kyren's volley of questions.

"The cult's activities were a mystery to my brethren, so it is good that we can illuminate them as to their true nature. The book? Merely a device used to access the stores of knowledge we maintain here. Others.... hmmm, perhaps the Duskwardens may have other information we lack, didn't the Wee Bluets have some contact with them? My Boss would be Pharasma, our order while hierarchical like most, permits a fair degree of autonomy for brethren such as myself, not shackled by an official appointment. " Tal then pauses to reflect on Kyren's last questions "I'm glad you find them so, Kyren, they are good souls, not always then best conversationalists , and some do indeed get out fairly often , others are content with their cloistered life."

Cathedral:

Smiling, Tal'Zeneb nods at Kyren's comment "What my friend states is true. A dear acquaintance of our group had been kidnapped by the cult. During our retrieval of this person, we made the discoveries we detailed. It seems the cult is nothing more than an elaborate confidence game; though I cannot definitively rule out any supernatural influence within the hierarchy. Please make note of the information we have provided, we may have occasion to learn more in the near future. " Tal then rises, bows to the historian and says "You do us honor, brother. We will trouble your studies no longer. Come, Kyren"
