What is that replacing? Its instead of your regular class feat at level up right? (Level 2 for Rogue to grab the Red Mantis Dedication, all prereqs met)

Or am I getting this wrong, sorry for the stupid question here.

Tom

"These weapons are used as a pair, complementing each other. When you attack with a twin weapon, you add a circumstance bonus to the damage roll equal to the weapon’s number of damage dice if you have previously attacked with a different weapon of the same type this turn. The weapons must be of the same type to benefit from this trait, but they don’t need to have the same runes."

So I need to have at least 1, +1 Striking Rune on one of my Sawtooth Sabers and if so that gives me a +2 circumstance bonus to Damage added to the base 1D6 Damage as it is now a 2 for damage dice, correct?

Then as I upgrade the striking rune then +3, +4 and +5 it goes up I'd assume.

Or does this work another way, as I am trying to decide if my Human Rogue will go the Red Mantis Assassin or the Aldori Duelist archtype for the Age of Ashes AP.

Thanks

Tom

You are especially good at riding traditional goblin mounts. You gain the Ride feat, even if you don’t meet the prerequisites.

You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to Nature checks to use Command an Animal on a goblin dog or wolf mount. You can always select a wolf as your animal companion, even if you would usually select an animal companion with the mount special ability, such as for a champion’s steed ally.

Seems kind of overpowered or am I missing something here for a level 1 Ancestory Feat?

Thoughts and ruling please?

Thanks

Tom

Hey gang

I'm looking for a GM to run the Age of Ashes AP for a group I am gathering over at Roll20 as I'd like to actually be a player instead of GMing for once!!

I have myself and 2 other players and have some Discord vetting of a further 6 potential players but sadly no GM's yet so I'm going to try here.

I have the Pro account so you can be a free user and still have my R20 perks, Dynamic lighting, access to the PF II CRB compendium in and out of game.

Hoping to get 6 players (including me) so if/when legit life stuff comes up we can still play our weekly Saturday game with less than 6 (and that tends to happen from time to time in my experience.

The game has to be Saturday after 6 PM CST as I GM 3 other groups over there and that is the only time available between that and work.

So if anyone is interested post here or PM me, be it here or over at Roll20. Just look for the Saturday evening Hellkinight Hill Looking for group listing and my handle over there is

Tom (with the Archer Icon)

Thanks for any considerations

And we can hook up on discord as well as PM's for any further discussions as needed :)

Tom

Looking to see if this heritage could give one of my players a general skill feat or just a General feat.

I've seen a few posts that anything tagged "general" works not just a general feat.

But looking for what you guys think.

Thanks

Tom

One of my groups picked out this to play as we all wait for PF2 to drop.

We will be doing session 4 (on Roll 20) and they will meet the ArchBaron and I just know they would want some kind of a handout, or none would sign.......

Anyone have any ideas or how to RP this as a handout will really make the scene rather than just RP talk and sign per the module

Thanks for any and all help here gang

Pretty fun module so far for all!!

Tom

This might be fun to run, looking forward to trying the new rule set as well!!

Tom

Some years ago I ran this and I swear I saw a post here or somewhere of a poem about her, searched around and I am drawing a blank, and as I am starting a fresh new party into these lands, could someone help me out please?

Thanks

Tom

I GM a LOT over at Roll20 and I am so FIRED UP to be a player for this one and no luck over there so far on finding a willing GM for this AP.

So if anyone here might be interested in GMing then post on the thread here or PM me.

We are shooting for a March 17th start date, and about a 7 PM CST start time for 4 hours most every Saturdays.

There is me, one more player and am vetting 3 more very soon to get the right group so looking like 5 players at the moment.

Feel free to post any questions here or in PM and I can "GM" anyone so they can use the dynamic lighting and I can help with maps and most any other thing as needed so new or old vet GM's we are willing to have :)

Skype or Discord for voice

Thanks

Tom

OK Iv'e read what I can about running/playing a Starfinder Society game and with nothing to go to "register" for this specifically?? I take it I sign up to the regular PFS to get a number to get events up and later to report on them I think?

Or is there an actual "Starfinder way" to do this, or is it not out yet??

Next I will be running (mostly) and playing (a few) on the net in Roll20 so is there something extra I have to do to get events up and report on them after they are complete.

I plan to mostly GM these but want to also run through a few beforehand credit or no credit so I get more of the feel of the system and all that goes with it before going for it as a GM.

Thanks and sorry if this was a stupid question, I'm a vet at Pathfinder GM and player, but Society games not so much as you can see.......

Tom

Just caught this live after missing 10 minutes

Some new stuff but have to watch it again

almost 3 hours long so quite nice

Off the top of my head

No crit confirm rolls

No crit fumble, you just miss (but they may add some decks in later)

Can double move on your turn

Extra movement feat

Quick draw feat

The highlight for me was their droid Dink being the superstar at first, then gettin almost shredded by the end

Party fought some living vines, half Orc Mercs, a Drow, and 2 mining machines

Planet ended up being alive and a certain Abadar Corp was trying to mine its seeds to take out other planets theme.

Bit tired now but I'll try to add more in after some sleep and another rewatch perhaps.

OOPS

The contest 5 Starfinder books up for grabs and 5 Syrinscape subs until GECON? (or two weeks from now?) when winners will be announced.

Tom

OK, been planning this for a log time as I want to actually be a player in this, the Ironfang Invasion AP.

I have 5 players and we had a GM. But he has vanished and the first session was to start THIS frday......

It happens in R20 at times and nothing from anyone on the R20 site itself yet.

So doing a "Hail Mary" thread here to see if anyone could GM this for us over on Roll20.

Characters are all done and ready to go, have the game itself set as in the character sheets are there and dynamic lighting can be used for the potential GM to use as well.

Game time is Fridays (any start date acceptable needless to say) anytime after 8 PM CST as that is when all the players can do a 4 hour session.

So if anyone might be interested please post below or give me a PM here

Thanks

A sad faced GM who wants to be a player in this epic AP!!

Trying to get a head start as I REALLY wanna play this instead of GMing it, so I am looking for a GM who gets his/her copy early, plays in Roll20 Friday nights and up to 5 other players, but enough about that.

I looked at the classes one would think would be fun and perfect for this AP, Rangers, Hunters and Druids and so on but in the end I think a good Melee as well as ranged class might be best, (thinking of a Mercenary type who settled down in that small town about to be sacked kind of thing.

So what overall, class would be best for that?, Dips are not quite what I'm looking for here but maybe it has to be....?? But hopefully not.

Thanks

Tom

Its been described as something like what we got in the Reign of Winter AP. And I'm hoping they will improve on this as it could be tied into the hit and run Guerrilla tactics I would like to see in the campaign.

No mass combat but this could very well add a lot more to certain aspects into this wilderness adventure.

Also I'm curious as to how the town is taken from where the party is from?, and if there is some kind of game mechanic behind that.

Say the party has to save a specific number of fellow villagers, and each on adds or if the don't get saved might spell trouble or things might be harder as the party and the remaining townspeople hide out in the woods crafting revenge, and taking back their town? at some point?

Just some random thoughts I've had as the date slowly creeps closer to this hopefully grand outdoor adventure!!

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks

Tom

Have not had the chance to play any until now, and reading over the players guide, I saw the be carefull as some of them might leave you open to fear effects more than a regular type class.

Right now I am rereading all the classes so not sure, but any suggestions for this if I go Occult?

Otherwise a Cleric/fighter build would be the alternative I would run.

Thanks

Tom

1 person marked this as a favorite.

1. Strange Aeons

Lovecraft Horror adventure, curious to see how this one turns out.

2. Ironfang Invasion

Wilderness type adventure with squad based tactical combat, and we get to fight/Guerrilla warfare a Hobgoblin Army.

As long as it is better than Giantslayer I'll be happy and call me old fashioned but this is the one I am most excited to GM, or play!!

3. Ruins of Azland

Check up on a lost colony and find out it vanished, new underwater fighting rules (well needed me thinks) as about a third of the AP is undrwater.

The new rules alone makes me happy and searching for the lost colonists could be pretty cool and different to.

4. Starfinder AP ?

Nothing known at this time, but for me this needs to be the best AP to date for me to consider running this, playing less so. As a GM I don't have a lot of space maps (and I play my games online/Roll20. so that could be an issue. As well as Alien terrain maps......... LOL

So this is the biggest question mark for me of the 4 at this time needless to say.

My interest ranking as of now is

1. Ironfang Invasion

2. Strange Aeons

3. Ruins of Azland

4. Starfinder AP

As we get more info I'm sure this will change and I will buy all of them, but you know some have favorites that keep the blood pumping to see what we actually end up with :)

Cheers

Tom

No luck as of yet over on Roll20 (free Virtual tabletop) so I am going to try here.

I have the firsrst 3 scenarios all set up and ready to go, so looking for up to 3 players who want to play, be it as a new player to this or some with experience.

I go on vacation this Thursday for 11 days so I now have the time to see how far a group can get. Time sand days/evening variable, what works best for who shows interest.

If this interests you post up or PM me and we can get this started, We will be using skype for voice in game on Roll20 as well.

Cheers, if you have any questions please feel more than free to post em!!

Thanks

Tom

The current GM just popped this on us after the first session (SIGH), would using this rule cause any problems with this AP as written?

Party seems divided by this so far and the GM said this is what we are doing!!.... so double checking here.

I'm a bit worried as this is a Devil centric written AP and I could see some potential problems with this from my point of view the further we get into the AP modules and specific situations and gear put into said modules.

Thanks

Tom

We had a GM but then he could not start this AP due to work changes, so our new 5 player party are looking for another good GM (or Co GM's) to run this for us.

I usually GM a lot of games on Roll20 (as well as a player) but this one I want to be a player in this one for sure :)

We use skype for voice and 4 of the 5 have experience in playing Pathfinder, and on Roll20 as well. I also have the perks in Roll20 so those can be available to the GM as well, and I have the first module in PDF and hard copy form.

So if this might be of interest to you or want more info PM me on the site or post in the thread here

Thanks

Tom

OK, if a PC has an age where he gets some -'s and a + to his stats does this add and subtract from from his points buy?

IE does this age stat thing apply before or after his basic buy??

Looked around the rule books and on the forum here and i found nothing on this.

Thanks

Tom

Hav'nt heard anything but has there been any word on what the next bigger single Module will be and when?

Thanks

Tom

So I have looked at all the old threads here (and in the advise forum as well) on this and just to make sure here, not any house ruling but the "official" Pathfinder meaning of this feat is........

When chosen from level 1 through 3 as a feat, the PC gets 3 HP in total at that time only. Then starting at level 4 that PC gains 1 HP as an added benefit at this level, and 1 more per level up past 4.

Nothing more and nothing less for this feat.

Seen "various opinions" (on older threads) that are supposed to be the Official standing as they think it means, but can someone point me to where an official PF person posted on this as to this?

Thanks

Again, sorry to bring this up and I can't find/show PC's the "official" ruling on how this feat works here at Paizo

Tom

Would I try and have the PC do this like breaking down a door, or something else that I may have missed?

Its a regular glass window that is shuttered from the inside (the party is on the outside of the Inn), so the PC has to break the glass and then the regular wooden shutter.

There are things inside once the party breaks in so it will be a combat situation once the party gets inside.

Thoughts and suggestions please?

Thanks

Tom

I was lookng for all the rules and an actual throwing Dagger stat line and I have none listed as a "throwing Dagger".

Is this item listed anywhere and what are the rules (and all the stats..) that go along with this, I must have read over it somewhere??

Cheers, this is in regards to a Rogue character. Looked in all the core and Ult Equip books, I must be blind, LOL

Thanks

Tom

Never ran or had one in my games before, I read through the APG on the Summoner Character. But what should I expect, what can an Eidolon do/not do, what type it maybe, look like? I now it depends on the PC but he needs help as well. I am running the Runelords Aniv Burnt Offerings but will go through the whole campaign I beleave with him.

Cheers, thanks, any and all advise most welcome!!

Tom

Was at one of my local hobby stores and saw the Beginner set, always wanted to find out how the system works for god knows how long, so I bought it!! Ha Ha

Back in "the day" I played the origianl D&D then onto AD&D throughsome of my college years and a bit of AD&D 3.5 a while ago.

Not to many gamers here where I live so I plan on running a net game after I go through the rules and chars in the box.

So any advise out there, I've run and played many a WW II net games over the years and played a few net RPG's, but not this system.
I probably have about 12 of the various map packs and say 50-70 older figs as well as the nice cut outs from the new box.

I plan to run the intro 4 character storyline at Sandpoint and see where it takes us.

Next, is it worth signing up to that PF Society, is it viable when I get the itch to be a player instead of a GM?

And what are your recomondations for PF campaign and Adventure Path sets to get, the best ones that are the most interesting to most players, and GM's alike?

Cheers, thanks and happy gaming :)

Tom
