Most of know that Jenny J "let slip" the next AP after Hardcover The Scoured stars AP at last years PAIZO CON (or was it GENCON?) live panel that a Mech AP is in the works.
No other official info at this time, but for me I'd like it to have that
Battlestar Galactica feel, or from Space, Above and Beyond for those who remember that one!! LOL
I'd like the AP to be centered on a home base of a capital ship where the players are a part of a squadron, so one can have fighter ship to fighter ship missions, planetside ones as a ground team, and then the big lazer guns come out and specific mech fights.
That would be such a hoot to play in.
And might be nice to have it as a level 1-20 to, but probably won't happen.
But if we are paying hard cover prices then I think we deserve a bit extra, don't ya think??
My thoughts so far anyways. wish I would have remembered to start this about a year ago, but time does fly so we probably won't effect aything as it is pretty set by now, but you never know.
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks
Tom

Thanks, I was sweating a bit none are interested enough to post on this!!
Thoughts on the home base as a capitol ship and the players are some type of squadron with multiple different missions, indivigual dog fighting, dirtside missions (no Mechs) then missions with Mecks be it in space or on the ground?
I think this is the last big thing missing as a general theme for Sy Fy most of us all know and love, minus any totally urban AP, yet anyways.

Yeah not gonna lie, if they can't get a single hardcover of reprinted material out without a 6 month delay, it doesn't bode well for the line. This is how systems like Starfinder die. It's never an announcement that the lines ending, just less and less and less content, in a vicious cycle- less content and especially less adventure content means fewer players and new campaigns, so paizo redirect more resources to PF2, and it goes on and on till theres nothing left.

What kinda worries me is will there be anything to fill in that gap?
I'm fully expecting that at PAIZOCON we should get some sort of explanation to us faithfull Starfinders that keep this system alive and well.
Honstly not to happy with what has been going on, yes I expect changes from time to time, but.....
SF, Hard cover only for the time being, with no solid plans after that, GULP.
Yes I understand that change can be good but having that first product delayed by a good half year, with well over half the material written years ago, just need to rewrite so they are linkable as an ongoing campaign.
And I am assuming this will delay the Mech AP by half a year as well. Can't really having them both come out at about the same time, but who knows.
Hoping for the best but all the staff hits that went over to Revised 5th Ed (as it is now officially called) over the past few years, as well as to Roll for Combat and the GI Joe franchise. Really took a toll on SF, and PF II.
Now for PF II they will no longer do 6 part AP's, so super frustrated with that decision, but thats for a different thread in a different part of the forum.
Hope for some good news for once, Enhanced is nice but one needs the actual AP's to use that book. New players coming in has plenty of choice but us vets of SF are running out of content sadly.
Just some random thoughts that I've been having lately. I did like the post Drift module 3 stories in one, that was pretty cool at least. And my Drift crisis games are going strong , so at least thats something :)

Just hoping in here to alleviate some concerns I'm seeing and talk a wee bit of mechs.
There's certainly been a lot of change on the Starfinder side of the house, there's no denying that. The team has had some moves and departures over the past year. Those of us still on the team, have been spending a lot of time making sure announced products get through the finish line and off to print. One of those was Starfinder Enhanced (with a lot of help from Joe Pasini before he changed roles), which I can assure everyone is going to be a mainstay book in the Starfinder line going forward.
Scoured Stars needed a bit more time to bake in the oven to make sure it's one of our strongest releases for the brand, but I am certain that it's going to be worth the wait for Starfinder fans both old and new. Finally, [[UNANNOUNCED JENNY MECH PROJECT™]] is something we'll be giving more details on in the near future. I can say that it's going in some directions that we've not really explored in prior APs and it's gonna shake up some assumptions, but more on that in the coming months.
There's a LOT more coming beyond that, but we're just not ready to share yet.
What the team has been focused on these past several months has been a serious look at Starfinder. What the game needs mechanically, what direction the team wants to take the setting, and re-evaluating core mission statement level aspects of the game. Given the team has shifted so much, I thought it really important, as Managing Creative Director, that the team spend this time making sure we're making strategic decisions that will keep Starfinder a strong brand going forward. I can honestly say that these discussions have been some of the most creatively fulfilling discussions of my career, and that we're going to be talking about some of these directions at PaizoCon in our Secrets of the Pact Worlds panel—along with maybe some mech-themed news.
But no, the sky is not falling for Starfinder. Stay tuned, and I promise you'll be seeing some of the wildest content yet from the team.

I think it would be easier to swallow if there was anything else to fill the gap? Knowing we are at least 10 months away from a new Adventure Path or Module really hurts, especially when that next one is repackaged Society content. And that's not to slam on the idea- Scoured Stars as an AP is such a good idea I already did it last year.
If we had even a single Module in the rough Octoberish period I feel like this would go down better.
The lack of transparency in the announcements, with us being told "theres big things coming we swear" in one breath with a mumbled "in 2 years maybe" implied through actual product schedules is very frustrating. It's just hard to get excited when every scrap of news we seem to get for Starfinder's adventure content, the side I'm personally most interested in, seems to be delays and reductions.

Thanks Thursty for the insight
Still a bit worried but less so now, hoping you and your team come up with something for the time gap for us to run while you do your revamp/expansion of Starfinder, be it the lore, mechanics and such.
Very much looking forward to the PAIZOCON and then GENCON panels for this Mech AP and the changes coming, as well as the New enhanced book. Hope to god that does'nt get pushed back as well in the near future!!
Also wishing you the best of luck with getting some more Staff into Starfinder and perhaps more freelancers, with all the extra interest from "that other game" (LOL) coming into Paizo' game systems to check it out and to hopefully stay stay for the Drift ride.
Excited to se Enhanced and sooner or later the SF II playtest as well as the new products and directions you plan on taking us. Just hope your really considering the time gaps a bit more for us veterans. Some things can't be helped while others might be with some good planning to help with that as the shipping and Covid is pretty much behind us so time for a new fresh start and hopefully a better time line.
And, if I may ask, any hope yet for a Starfinder PC game or still in the wind ?
Thanks
Tom
PS
Any hope at all for a level 1-20 AP, be it hardcover or if you go back to the standard 6 part Modules for an AP bought separate?

I work with the licensing team pretty closely. We have a lot of interest from potential new partners. New opportunities are manifesting that we just can't reveal yet.
Also, Alex and I want to you all to consider that the Starfinder Society meta-plot is essentially an inexpensive, PDF-only Adventure Path. You don't have to be in Organized Play, just play the Scenarios and Quests as your own adventures.
Thanks for playing Starfinder.

i really like the idea that its three "interconnected" long form adventures.
running an AP right now, and we are at level 6, and a player is tired of his PC. which is fine, but like... why not just have these natural, pre-planned breaks, where DMs can tell players, hey, look, these are the levels where the adventures start at, and it's fine, narratively, if a new character comes in here, so feel free to come up with other pc-concepts, and bring them into play.
one of the reasons i'm pumped for SCOURED STARS, and why i really enjoy society play - you can play around with different party compositions

The Basics so far
Level 3 -18 (3 books but in long form, as well as new lore and different mech mechanics, feats and such)
Starts on Planet Daimalko (Located in Inner Space)
Book 1. You are part of the New Valor Defense Force defending a city from "Giant Creatures" :)
Book 2 you go off planet into Inner Space
Book 3. go back to the planet to fend off a new or just realized threat (A Demon from PF I is going to pop up here!! SWEET)
There will be Mech combat but will also feature regular combats as well off and on
4 side jobs that you can run in the AP or as one shots.
Spring 2024 release date at this point in time.
GREAT start and can't wait, hope to be a player for this but ya know....... Probably won't happen :(
Might not be a thing but it was mentioned, would'nt it be cool to have a starship change to a Mech and have a starship combat, and vise versa
