Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Back on the fourms! I'll probably see you all again on the forums at some point or another. Make sure you don't forget me :D

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Thank you <3

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

I don't actually think I want to pick up Starfinder. I think I just want to stick with Pathfinder for now

That being said, I love you all and wish you the best hehe

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

So, I am back again and I'm really going to try to stay consistent this time. I had a good two year streak when I joined PbP. But, after disappearing I'm going to take it slow. (I'm not sure if my character is active because you all thought I might always come back, or if the GM swap makes it hard to move characters, hehe)

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

That was some close combat. I was a little worried D:

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

That would be fantastic! Thank you for accepting me back! <3

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Hello! Nice to meet you too! :)

I've been doing well despite the covid pandemic. I feel like I'm recharged and ready to pick up play-by-post again. I got caught up in another hobby but I've been missing play-by-post for a while. If there is an upcoming moment where Sydney can slip back in, I'll love to update her to level 8!

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

I'm back! But I would feel bad about rejoining so I'm going to lurk. I'm really happy you all are still here :D

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

I think I need to shelf Sydney. I've been having trouble staying motivated. But I'm totally here in spirit and reading. It's not fair to y'all that I keep vanishing. I'm sure you'll be able to find a great replacement!

Isu Greelax Zyte wrote:

I strongly suspect we are being set up to flee. Massive monster that we can't really melee... What are the chances there is a underground lair under that hut?

"This one fears this foe is beyond us... Retreat... retreat! Arcaline Soter! Get in that hut! Is there a basement?" Isu yells.

"Retreat then!" Sydney fires a warning shot into the air with her current pistol. (Flavor.) The beam surges uselessly into the air. She does not want to be in close proximity to a creature with such a high level of radiation. "%^@%, man. I don't want cancer!"

Without waiting for the others, the ace pilot operative starts booking it towards the hut, away from the buggies but also away from the behemoth. "%^@%!" She jumps from the 10 foot high cliff. Her feet hit the ground hard, but she keeps on sprinting.

Acrobatics (Look cool jumping off a 10 foot high slope): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39

Sydney has Quick Movement and is wearing Light armor so she can move an additional 10 feet to her normal 30 movement speed.

Sydney does not have a preference on the route - if it matters.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Happy New Years! I'm back from all my holiday stuff.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Sydney dashes left and towards her target. Her right foot steps on a flat rock and she pushes off to reach a new height, firing at the peak of her leap.

To hit (Disintegration pistol, liquidator): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Acid
Trick Attack (Acrobatics): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37 DC is equal to 20 + the target’s CR
If DC passes, Sydney deals 3d8 additional damage (level 5) and the target is flat-footed.
Damage (Disintegration pistol, liquidator): 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Add 1/2 Level to dmg see Weapon Specialization. Acid.
Trick Attack Bonus Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (5, 5, 6) = 16

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Sydney sits from her shooting pose on the couch. She doesn't do well with negotiations or diplomacy so she keeps her mouth shut. She does, however, watch as Spectre analyzes the contents of the apartment.

Not knowing much Mysticism, Sydney just gives an acknowledging hrm to Arc's realization.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Good and busy!

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Lol. I assume this weekend and coming week are going to be a little spotty with the Thanksgiving holiday, but I'll probably be more regular if anything. Not much to do at the in-laws ehehe

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Round 1:

Sydney focuses her attention on the green enemy in front of her. (Can she stand in the corner square? See map.) She tries to dodge and fake a crotch kick before shooting at him in melee range.

To hit (Disintegration pistol, liquidator): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Acid. Critical -)
Trick Attack (Acrobatics): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38 DC is equal to 20 + the target’s CR
If DC passes, Sydney deals 3d8 additional damage (level 5) and the target is flat-footed.
Damage (Disintegration pistol, liquidator): 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Add 1/2 Level to dmg see Weapon Specialization. Acid.
Trick Attack Bonus Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (1, 8, 5) = 14

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Sydney takes in the sights of the prone undead with broken limbs surrounded by the three ghoul goons. She decides to take action.

Surprise Round:

From the corner, Sydney fires at the nearest ghoul.

To hit (Disintegration pistol, liquidator): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 Acid. Critical -)
Damage (Disintegration pistol, liquidator): 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Add 1/2 Level to dmg see Weapon Specialization. Acid.

Operative Expliot - Cloaking Field: (link) While the cloaking field is active, you can use Stealth to hide, even while being directly observed and with no place to hide. Attacking doesn’t end the cloaking field, but it does end that particular attempt to hide.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Sydney makes a move to silently open the door from ajar to wide open.

Slight of Hand (door): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18

She puts a finger to her lips before shimmering out of sight.

Stealth (Hide Inside): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Sydney stands aloof with her hands in her jacket pockets. I feel like we just have more questions now. Not like this problem actually affects me. She looks as if she's ready to move on to the next query.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Are the blades harmless now? Or can the party disable them?

Sydney checks behind Ted's work to see if indeed the blades will not malfunction.

Computers: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26

Sydney gives a small smile and nod. Those @$$ hats deserve it.

Ted Under wrote:

Sydney is fine with this plan. She takes a walk around the vat, looking for signs of how it could have been drained so quickly.

Arcalinte Soter wrote:
"We've been authorized by her to follow up with you on the Ministry's behalf."

Sydney stops twirling her pen, eyes widening slightly. Oh no. Have I become... a square?! She scowls, after this, I gotta put some space between me and the corporate machines.

S-P37 'Spectre' wrote:

"Curious," Spectre says as he shows Isu, Sydney, and Ted the hacked video while Arcalinte converses with the intercom.

"Perhaps we have already seen what we came for. Some kind of cloaking device has been utilized. I'm not sure if we will see much else."

The horror of her unintentionally creating the public image of an upstanding citizen abates. Sydney isn't religious, but gives a mental thank gods when Spectre reveals the vid he snatched from their servers. Sydney leans over as to try and not be heard by the cameras: "F^@% yeah! Is there anything else we can steal?"

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14

"Arc, just give these guys the bird and let's move on." Sydney raises her digit in a half-@$$ed display at the camera to demonstrate. Quieter: "Or, you know, I could open the doors? Diplomatic immunity or whatever." Sydney was pretty sure that was a thing. Just like how cops have to tell you if they're real cops if you ask.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6
Isu Greelax Zyte wrote:
"Yes, hello, this one is an air breather."

Sydney's expression looks like she just smelled a fart. Don't call yourself that! She moves to stand in front of Spectre and pulls the Star Sugar Heartlove!! pen from behind her ear. She begins to twirl it between her fingers in front of the cameras, conveniently stepping between the android and the bulky surveillance equipment as cover.

Slight of Hand: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17

"Yeah, what he said." Sydney motions her head in a slight tilt towards Isu.

"That's the only worthwhile reports in my jurisdiction right now. If you darlings want some more to investigate, you'll have to bother the higher ups." From the way she narrows her eyes at that, you get the feeling that probably isn't likely to be productive.

Sydney bristles from being called a 'darling.' Sourly, she asks: "why'd Ambassador Nor get mailed a Corpse Fleet member? You guys report on Corpse Fleet incidents but then have one mailed to you? In secret?" She shakes her head and takes a step back from the desk. In relation to the other party members, she'd already been standing the farthest away. "Seem hypocritical. I'd like to know what's going on." They'd been instructed to not look at the cargo, but Sydney was glad they had. She angles her chin up defiantly and stares down the undead as if challenging the other woman to call her 'darling' again.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6
GM Cellion as Waneda Trux wrote:
"Most reports are, I'll be frank with you, not worth an iota. Citizens come in with stories so out there you'd think their brains rotted with the rest of their flesh. Just yesterday, I had one where a lady said 'My neighbor kicked my pet skullcrab; I think she's a Corpse Fleet sympathizer'!" She throws her hands in the air at the gall. "Or 'The Corpse Fleet stole the brand-new Ultralight Cruiser from my front yard, and I want to Ministry to compensate me.' Ha! They must think since I've been undead for less than a decade I'm an idiot."

Sydney stands to the side, trying to look cool. Are these just ramblings or is this all the information she's got? The ace pilot operative frowns. Half wondering if their time meeting with Waneda Trux will pay out, and the rest of her mind trying to imagine what a skullcrab might look like.

GM Cellion wrote:
The drone atop the front desk beeps and recites (first in Eoxian and then in Common) "Please take a wait token and then take a seat. A ministry official will assist you shortly!"

Sydney looks around for a wait token. If she finds one, she'll hold it up to show her companions before sitting down across from the shabby human, crossing her arms over her chest. She gives the other human a look over, trying to guess why they're here.

Sydney complains about the last of fast food joints after the party has been walking around for a little while. She shakes her head at Spectre's comment.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Sydney's stands with her hands in her jacket pockets and feet apart. She squints up at the polished golden symbol of the Dawnflower sitting prominently above the church doors. Ugh. She looks over at Arc and sulkily follows in behind him, the curved and peeling letters spelling RELENTLESS framing her back.

Sydney can't help but stares at the young gnome's fluorescent yellow hair. She's a fan of the woman's style even if the gnome is drinking the same KoolAid as Arc. "This church seems outta place for the people who are in it." Sydney openly gestures at the patients bearing prominent necrografts, her tone neutral.

GM Cellion wrote:
"Ah. Sunrise Maiden. I see your registration code." The ghoul scans something in its view with its glistening black eyes.

Sydney stands up a bit straighter at the mention of the ship. She’s glad to leave the diplomacy to the more eloquently spoken in the party as communication isn’t one of Sydney’s strong suits.

GM Cellion wrote:

Ugh. Waneda... sounds like the name of someone who would work at the Department of Nuclear and Motor Vehicles. Sydney scowls as she recalls back to when she got her pilot class expanded on her credentials. It had taken forever.

Culture DC15 Ridge: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

GM Cellion wrote:
But when Arcalinte pulls out the partially-liquefied necrograft recovered from Star-Eater's Spine, the salesghoul recoils in disgust. "Faulty merchandise! One of the products that 'A New Undead You' down the road is pushing, no doubt." After an initial scowl, the salesghoul looks thoughtful. "No, looks like an old graft - not from any of the modern suppliers. Something from centuries ago? A Whispering Gyrus type necrograft in any case."

Centuries ago? Sydney remains silent, knowing Arc is the far superior diplomat. Although her neon-bright pixie cut might pair well with the undead glow of the necrografts, Sydney keeps her hands in her jacket pockets.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Are we good to sell the loot? Sydney needs less than 200 credits to get a MK 2 magic stone for her ability score

Sydney enters into the galley looking fresh. Her neon-bright hair is styled and her motorcycle boots look like they've been polished. She grabs a seat near Isu and crosses her ankles on top of the coffee table.

Sydney doesn't raise a brow at the conversation she's entered to, but she does glance around the room for the only other female part of their crew. "Ready to disembark for Eox?" She isn't sure what to do with her hands, so Sydney drapes her arms along the back of the couch. "Gotta freshen up my gear." She nods at the suit she's wearing.

Isu Greelax Zyte wrote:

So just splitting credit sticks, and not selling any gear, we have 11860, or 2372 each, since there are 5 of us.

I added three items from Sydney's inventory to sell on the loot log. I also claimed a D-Suit I for Sydney.

Sydney is level 6 except for picking for next exploit

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Round 9:

Sydney shifts the Sunrise Maiden, curving around debris to protect the ship's Starboard side. "%^@$!#& %@#%!&," Sydney curses under her breath. "Come on! Finish it!" See map.

Piloting (Evade): 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 14 + 2 = 21

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Round 8:

Sydney does an evasive maneuver and boldly pulls up next to the red ship. I hope this sends a message. "Fire on their Starboard!" (See map)

Piloting (Evade): 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 14 + 2 = 36 (+2 from one of three Ship bonus)
Nat 20!

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Yay!

Do you all have plans for Halloween yet? I'm going to go to a costume party but I don't know as what. Last year I was a raccoon and the year before I just wore a long red hooded cape

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Round 7:

Sydney quickly takes Ted's place and enjoys the heat left from Ted's butt. Wish the seats were heated. "What's with our bow? Get those shields to 100%!"

She doesn't take the Sunrise Maiden *too* far. She just maneuvers the ship in a slight turn to get the front facing away from the other vessels. In an attempt to evade fire from the other ships, the starboard side lifts up gently for a moment, then glides gracefully back downward.(See map.)

Piloting (Evade): 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 14 + 2 = 34 (+2 from one of three Ship bonus)

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Round 6:

Sydney staggers out of her cabin and onto the bridge, sleep still in her eyes and fabric lines on one cheek. "What's going on?" She looks at the controls, then at her companions. "What the %^@&."

She makes purposeful steps towards the pilot's chair and puts a hand on Ted's shoulder and the other on the back of the chair to check the ship's status, clearly concerned about the vessel.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

How should I jump in? :x Lemmie think

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Aaaaah I've been gone for a week. If you have someone wanting to jump in to the campaign I can step down

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

"You're right, Arc. I should stock up on snacks." Sydney turns from her pilot chair to glance at her companions. "I'm not good at haggling prices. I'll leave the sales to someone else." A small smile plays across her lips. Returning to civilization with creature comforts galore seems to have put her in a good mood.

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

After seeing Isu set off the laser trap, Sydney is hesitant on touching anything. Although, she will come up behind Ted and Spectre and look at the grey substance inside the helmet.

Sydney nods and pretends to thinking along the same lines as the android. She listens quietly as Arc goes into a tangent about the situation. Sydney pulls one of her many pistols from its holster and begins to spin it dexterously. She's bothered by the situation, but glad Arc is the one to passionately voice his displeasure. Cool guys don't look at explosions. And Sydney is definitely too cool to openly and vocally try to save the cosmos.

Arcalinte Soter wrote:
"...I think you'd all agree that such a weapon would be just as bad in the Corpse Fleet's hands as it would in the Cult's?"

Sydney holsters her pistol and looks off into the distance. "Well, I mean, if there's credits involved."

"our competitors" lol

Chaotic Good Human Operative/6

Sydney picks up one of the rasp-class frailty pistols and examines it. She sits to rest (spending 1 RP) and fingers the details of the necrotic gun.

Isu Greelax Zyte wrote:
"This one should have done a better job protecting you all. Confound it! Add it to this one's list of failures."

The operative looks up from her seated position. That Kasatha feels responsible for us? She looks from the soldier to the solarian and tries to assess how she feels. Sydney ends up feeling awkward so she stands and walks over to examine the small datapad they just looted.

"Ahem. So. The datapad on that spellcaster seems to be functional."

GM Cellion wrote:
The spellcasting figure in the back responds to Isu's question with a clatter of bone - a sound that reminds you of laughter. "You, and the Starfinder Society, are too close to our business. Just like this pathetic cult was."

Sydney barrel rolls and shoots at the magic user. She calls out: "You aren't working with the cultists?!" Perhaps her surprise catches her off her game.

To hit (Laser pistol, corona): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Trick Attack (Acrobatics): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27
