Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

There are three stirges charging us? Should we be rolling init?

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Statue is prettier. Ghirhuk quips back.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk attempts to assist the dwarf. He doesn't have all that much to contribute. It takes him a while, but in the end his help actually means something.

Aid Another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Aid Another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Aid Another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Hmm... The tiny draconian spellslinger mutters to himself. He grasps the feet of the statue and tries to slide it to the side. The thing.... It moves he grunts with effort.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk scurries into the shrine, convinced he saw something glittering inside. It doesn't even dawn on him that he's left his meat shields behind.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk keeps an eye on Saresha and follows her. He's a bit out of his element with all of this.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk does not disturb the rest of the dead by taking their final possessions. Most of his energy is channeled into keeping the sword off the floor for now.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Ghirhuk knows better than to mess with Red-Hot's faith. He waits nearby, ready to blast any danger to her that might arise. If she's willing, he'll hold her sword to let her do her thing.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk tosses the useless papers over his shoulder and makes his way to the door. What you find? Oh! Street Rat not dead! Good.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk rolls his eyes at Rauve and moves on to another table, examining whatever is visible.

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Red-Hot! Ghirhuk calls as he scurries over to her. No dying. mid-scurry he remembers the vial was moving and reverses direction, claws screeching on the tile floor. He returns to the vial and poles it with a clawed finger.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Just change the target to Bahram's ooze.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Oozes are immune to crits? Are you sure that's not a 3.5 relic that you're carrying over?

Ghirhuk zaps the ooze attacking Saresha with an Elemental Ray of Cold.

Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
COld Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

I'd totally meant to roll Perception

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk shrugs as he's unable to read the scribbles. He hands the paper back to Beinir and moves to investigate the laboratory.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk takes the page and examines it visually and olfactorily. He looks up at Beinir. Where you find? There more?

Can I get a description of the page and a heads up what rolls would be relevant?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

No. She a lady. Ghirhuk looks a bit confused at Rauve.

Then he looks to Saresha, You go. Ghirhuk follow. We kill... things. He doesn't really seem to see the need to be specific.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk pauses to consider for a moment. Covers. He hollars back. He carries one of the ruined books out to Rauve. No pages. Books are dead.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk skitters into the library after Saresha and is too distracted by all of the books to notice her leave once more. He moves about the room searching his and low for anything that might interest him.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Yes! Books!

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Red-Hot! Ghirhuk calls out.

If she turns to him he tosses a snowball (Prestidigitation) at her head. Cool off. With a chuckle he skitters after the others.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Can I ask what about option 3 unbalances the game? It's almost identical to what you have us doing now, just with the PC groups predefined.

Edit to Add: I'm am voting very strongly against option 2.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

I'm going to toss out a vote for option 3. From what I've seen it makes things run the most smoothly. Option two looks to need a lot of contingencies. "I zap {x}, unless Bahram Killed that guy, then I do this."

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

I'm going to toss out that we let Bahram take the first set of actions in any combat. We're using his init and he benefits from acting first more than any of the rest of us. I had this realization immediately after posting my actions, so I understand this makes me a bit of a hypocrite.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

{b]Red-Hot![/b] Ghirhuk calls after Saresha.

With a sigh, Snowball lets loose with another Ray of Frost. Aiming at one of the babboons Saresha didn't attack.

Ranged Touch: Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Cold Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ranged Touch: Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Cold Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Ghirhuk fires another ray at the injured creature, this one less potent.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Do we know who's in Group 1 and who's in group 2? I think I missed that. Also, Hi everyone! I'm back.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk is about to send forth a blast of elemental cold, but then looks at Bahram. He sighs and waits for someone to clash with the pugwampis before unleashing the ray.

Ranged Touch: Elemental Ray: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Cold Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Ghirhuk is specifically waiting for Bahram to get the jump on someone. If anyone jumps into melee before that, he'll blast an unoccupied pugwampi with an Elemental Ray

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

As Rauve whispers, Ghirhuk looks from the clanky cleric to the clanky paladin and shrugs. He says, at a lower than conversational tone, Yes. We go to sleeping place. Find why they leave. Fix bad thing. Then kill gnolls dead.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Enough sun. We go in monk place? Ghirhuk gestures towards the monastery as they approach.

The Kobold sniffs the air and gazes about the cool dry place that's freed him from the heat.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk is up and about early, sunning himself to warm up after the cold desert night.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Does this look alright for you?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Keep in mind, that was in draconic.

For finding Goat? Deal. Ghirhuk isn't quite sure what he's being paid for. But being paid is always good.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Seeing the small beastie advance on the paladin that owes him her life, Ghirhuk points a finger and unleashed a ray of elemental cold. No! Mine! he shouts in Draconic.

Elemental Ray: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

As I'm not in the cacti, do I need to roll twice?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk takes his time with the whole endeavour. If the rest of the group heads off after the trail, he'll just return to the caravan and wait.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Unless some option that does lead to a dead kobold appears, Ghirhuk will continue trying to blast his way through.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk begins living up to his name and blasting every cactus he can see with rays of frost. Hopefully the force of the rays and the cold they create is enough to destroy the cacti.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk nods. You throw me. I kill goat. I cook goat by time you get there. Deal? The proposal is simply what he thinks is the best course of action, not a threat.

To be sure that I'm reading the initial post about the cacti correctly. To cross we need to succeed at 3 acrobatics checks (DC unknown) and have to roll 2d20 and take the lower die, correct?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

You want Ghirhuk go kill Pugwampis alone?

Are we following goat tracks or the tracks of some kind of creature? I kind of thought we were following Pugwampi tracks...

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Ghirhuk grasps at Saresha's Tunic before she charges off. Is goat. Hurt. He looks over the thicket. You cut? Make safe?

To be clear, this thicket is part of the trail we're following, correct?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk sighs at the slow humans (they're all humans... right?). Yes. Ready. Gogogogo. He looks at Bahram. Remember, Goats.

He chuckles to himself and says something to himself in Draconic. మేకలు రక్షించే ఎలుక. సంతోషమైన

Draconic:
Rat guarding goats... Hilarious

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Good. You stay here. Guard... He looks around for a moment and spies the animal pens. Goats. Ghirhuk says with satisfaction.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk looks like he's about to say something... possibly like he's about to say it twice.

Double post.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

And? Where we find them? They do. We find.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Ghirhuk ignores Bahram's summons.

He gives one final sniff of the hunter and nods in satisfaction.

Pugwampis? How they taste? Where we find them? They talk?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Dashki:
Ghirhuk tries to get a read on the hunter. Is he insulted or defensive? sense motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Red-Hot! He seems surprised to have been caught up on by his companion. He straightens his posture and stops actively sniffing Dashki

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Dashki:
Ghirhuk’s chest puffs up and he stands a bit taller Am Ghirhuk, Talker for the Knife Tail.

His eyes narrow and he sniffs Dashki, Why you set fire? He circles the man and eyes him like a piece of meat, or perhaps an insect.

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Camel Drivers and Rauve:
Ghirhuk nods and stalks off looking for someone that matches that description. Rather directly he'll ask, You Dashki?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Rauve and the Camel Drivers:
Rauve can tell that continuing this line of logic with the Kobold is likely to wind up with the Kobold attempting to kill his camel. Ghirhuk isn't the average cowardly kobold that Rauve might have heard of. If he were, he'd likely not be adventuring with a Paladin of Torag.

When Rauve states his belief that the fire was purposeful, Ghirhuk smacks his face with the palm of his hand. He listens to the response of the Camel drivers and almost walks off when they talk about their father. His little head perks up at the end though.

Dashki? Who that?

Koldemar Sorcerer (Primal) 1 AC:18 [T:14 F:14][HP:7/7] Fort:1 Ref:4 Will:4 Perc:+8 Init:+4

Rauve and Ghirhuk:
To Rauve he says, Oh...

Not so quietly he muses. No eat horse since meeting Red-Hot. Can always change...

He looks to whoever asked about the fire. Set? No. Who would do that? No one. That's who. Right?
