I am having issues with my payment processing and also attempted charges from Paizo for more than I need to pay. The first and second decline were for $3.80 and the last was for $53.80. I have credit applied of $50 and would like to just get this order processed.

Okay so I wanted to add some feedback for the "Titan Mauler" Barbarian since I played one to level 17 in 1e PFS and played a level 1 I built in the 2e version last night.

1st off, the fact that the Giant Totem is the only rage totem to have a drawback for its ability is really disappointing. I get to double my rage bonus... so at level 1 I get 4 temp hp (I have con 16), +4 rage damage total by doubling my +2, and a large weapon granting me a +2. However, I am sluggish 1 which means between rage and sluggish I have the following penalties:

AC -2, Attack -1, Dex Checks -1, and Ref. -1. That is a lot of penalty for what I am getting, which isn't much.

Having to spend an action to activate rage is also a bummer. Entering Rage should be a free action. I am not sure if I like the length of the new rage yet. This will be more of an issue at higher levels when fights take much longer.

I think all classes should have the same number of signature skills. Only having three for the Barbarian, why? I could easily see Acrobatics, Athletics, Intimidate, Lore, Nature, and Survival being signature skills. In fact, I think every class should get 6 signature skills but can choose their own 6. This would help vary experiences within classes.

Large Weapons should not double in Bulk. With a 18 Str. I am encumbered at 9 Bulk. If I wanted to go with a Large Greataxe that would 4 Bulk. That is almost half my bulk just for the weapon and if I want two large weapons because I want a slashing or bludgeoning weapon I have hit encumbrance. This forces Titan Maulers to bastard sword as their best weapon for only 2 Bulk.

So far that is all I have for criticism on drawbacks of the class. As for pluses:

I like some of the rage feats I can select such as Acute Vision. Taking the Natural Ambition Feat to get Toughness is a must for me.The damage output seems pretty good. My Titan Mauler, while raging, does a minimum of 11 damage on one hit to 66 damage on three hits not including crits. So the damage output is there or can be there.

With three actions I can move really far and still take a swing which is nice. As a Barbarian I can do a lot more than just move and swing now. I can move, swing, use a skill. I could hit, skill, hit.

Not sure if this was mentioned somewhere, I could not find it. Will the deluxe edition of the playtest book be like others that are leather? By that I mean no artwork on the cover just black leather and embossed words? I would be really interested to know before I pre-order. Thanks!

I am not sure what is going on but I have not received my items yet. Can you help?

One of my characters has a Large +1 Keen Adamantine Katana.

What would the HP and Hardness be for such a weapon. I have found threads pointing me to the pages that contains weapon HP/hardness information, but I am unsure if I am doing the math correctly.

Help, advise, a good talking to are all welcomed! Thanks.

Music starts playing in the square and you can see people telling everyone to gather around and head towards the stage.

A woman with short brown hair wearing a green top steps up to the stage podium. She smiles and clears her throat drawing a silence to the entire square. ”Hello everyone! I would like to take moment to welcome all of our visitors from out of town on this very special day! Today marks the completion of our new cathedral, and the Swallowtail Festival, the renewal of the blessing from the gods! We have such a big turn out today, it seems everyone from Sandpoint is here…” She stops and looks around the crowd spotting someone. Even our very own hard working tanner Larz Rovanky has pulled himself away from his work!” The locals in the crowd all start to laugh and Larz seems disgruntled. ”As mayor of Sandpoint I would just like to welcome everyone and hope that you all enjoy the festival! Now, I would like to introduce our very own Sheriff Belor Hemlock.” The crowd applauds, although not very enthusiastically.

There is a few minutes in between each speech as one speaker steps down from the stage and the other approaches the podium.

You may talk amongst yourselves until the next speech.

Town Square

The morning is beautiful. Birds sing, children run around the square and many people move around the square putting finishing touches on stalls and events. The air is brisk and life seems as if it could not get any better. As you look around you notice that some of the stalls are open. A few arts & crafts stalls along with one or two food stands are open for breakfast. People are starting to show up from town and the square is beginning to fill with laughter and warm greetings.

You are free to act as you wish. There are many people around as the Swallowtail Festival is about to begin. You can see that a few people on the main stage area near the temple look like they are getting ready to speak to the crowd that is forming.

Residents of Sandpoint Only:
You know that the festival will start a little later with speeches from the mayor Kendra Deverin, Sheriff Belor Hemlock, Father Abstalar Zantus and Cyrdak Drokkus the local theatre director.

Hello. I am a newer GM to the forum. I have tried to run two other games. The first was a couple of years ago and I had to drop it because of RL. The other game a started up was for two friends who both had to quit. I have taken GM material from several sources that I have found appealing, so you may have heard some of this before.

I have been rp'ing for over 17 years, mostly D&D 3.X & PF.

I am looking for 4 players for this PbP with the possibility of a 5th PC if I get some extraordinary submissions.

For those of you who do not know about RotR:

In the sleepy coastal town of Sandpoint, evil is brewing. An attack by crazed goblins reveals the shadows of a forgotten past returning to threaten the town-and perhaps all of Varisia. The Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path begins with this goblin raid and takes players on an epic journey through the land of Varisia as they track a cult of serial killers, fight backwoods ogres, stop an advancing army of stone giants, delve into ancient dungeons, and finally face off against a wizard-king in his ancient mountaintop city.

Character Creation Guidelines:

Starting level: 1st, Medium xp advancement.
Stats: 20 point buy
Hit Points: Max at first level, Half round up after.
Starting Gold: Average starting gold.
Alignment: Non-Evil
Classes: Core
Races: Core
Traits: 2. One must be a campaign trait from RotR. Traits may picked from the Advanced Player's Guide (APG) only. Rich Parents is not available.
Just Core material, please do not ask to play anything else.

Character Background:

*Please use the campaign trait picked for this AP as part of your background.

*I would like a detailed background. Being a Sandpoint native is helpful but not required and will not improve chances of being picked.

*Backgrounds are the foundations we build to make or characters believable. They also provide hooks for the GM to engage your character more deeply in the story. Old enemies, lost relatives, and famous weapons make for terrific potential plot-lines, which makes everyone the winner. I’m not asking for a short story or a novel here. Keep it skirt-length (long enough to cover the important details, but short enough to keep me interested). A few paragraphs would suffice. Make sure to cover any driving events in your character's life, specific enemies (if any), and future goals. The more I have to hook into, the more likely you are to feel your character engaged in the adventure.

Player Expectations:

*Post as often as is necessary, but keep it regular. I tend to check the boards less often on the weekends, and multiple times a day during the week. Ideally, we’d have at least 1 post per day from everyone, as needed, but I understand that’s not always possible. I am going to do my best to keep this game moving. If you only check the boards on the weekends, this is not the PbP for you.
Perseverance is preferred. This is a long lasting story arc split into multiple modules with multiple parts each. If you don't think you can devote the time to hang around for at least a module at a time, this is not the PbP for you.

*Communication is key. Whether it is letting me know of a vacation where you might not have internet access, questions about some minutiae of game play, or simple clarifications; communication is how I gauge how engaged my players are, and how I can tune the adventure so that everyone is enjoying themselves. If you don’t think it’s important to let the other players and GM know when you are not going to be able to post for a few days, this is not the PbP for you.

*Roleplaying. As mentioned above, I like for my players to take the lead in a goodly portion of the adventure. Cues and clues will be given to prod, but I'd rather you go off on a wild hare chase rather than be spoon fed copied portions of the AP over and over. If rolling dice is your thing, and your character is the strong silent type, this is not the PbP for you.

*Quality posting. Know how you get when that hamburger you ordered doesn't look anything like the picture on the poster? That's how I feel about craptastic posts. No one (but you) is forcing you to rush a post out the door, so take your time with it. If you prefer to let the others do the talking, while you toss in one word responses, and like to roll for social skills with no explanations, this is not the PbP for you.

*Maps, pictures and handouts will by provided through Photobucket. I will attach links in the gameplay thread. I have not decided how I will run battle maps yet and will probably ask for help from my players if they have experience.

*If you have played any part of the RotR AP before I ask that you do not apply. Thanks.

*Have fun! This is one of the most important, because if you aren't having fun, why are you playing? Of course, this applies to everyone else too. So, don't be rude. If you want to have fun, then this is the PbP for you!

GM Review:

I am more interested in character concepts and stories than I am in how many times you can hit yourself in the head before you black out. Concept and background are just flat out more important to me than specific roles and the crunch. Don’t ask me what roles need filling. It does not matter. I would rather play with an all-rogue group that really gets into the storytelling than have the perfect 4/5 role setup.

What I want from you right now:

*I want your character concept (class & focus) and background, preferably in its own alias (though that’s just to help me keep track of everything). If you want to put together the crunch also, knock yourself out. I also want you to give me 4 things:

*A list of driving forces, aspirations and/or secret desires.

*An IC post to give me an idea of your role playing style. The more interesting the better. Include the IC post in the submission post and in your profile as shown below.

*Please submit everything in one post if at all possible. You may dot for interest but try to keep posting in the recruitment section to a minimum. Sorry but it will help me sort through everything. You may ask me any questions you want and I will get to it when I have the chance to do so.

*Please set your alias profile up as such: Profile Set-Up

Recruitment will be open until February 28th at 6:00pm est. I will then go through the submissions one final time and then make my decisions within a week of recruitment closure.

One final thing:
I would be very interested in playing an AP that Paizo has produced and would love to rotate chapters. As an example I would run RotR Chapter 1 and then someone could run Chapter 1 of another AP of the groups choosing. Then switch back to RotR. This would be the same players, I would just switch out with one of them. If interested please let me know in a PM. Thanks!

Welcome to Golarion! What follows is a list of rules for everyone to follow while playing in this PbP. Please be courteous to your fellow players and make sure to follow these rules. This will help me run the game more smoothly especially since this module is going to be very in-depth and extensive. These rules can be modified in any way. These modifications will be done in the discussion thread, hopefully with the approval of everyone unless I find the need to implement them for other reasons. My goal is to make this a fun and enjoyable experience.

Rules:
#1. No profanity or foul language.
#2. Everyone is expected to post at least once in a 24 hour period. If you have to be gone for longer than a day or two please let me know. I will control your character until you return or find a way to have you leave the party and rejoin. If a player is gone longer than 24 hours in a combat situation the GM will act for that player.
#3. When posting please let everyone get thoughts and character reactions in. I do not mind if you have multiple posts but do not overload the thread.
#4. Please keep all out of character talk in the ooc format. Like this.
#5. Please keep OOC talk in this thread to explanations about what your character is doing stat wise such as: Valynce is using her power attack feat when making her strike.
#6. If you have any questions please feel free to Private Message (PM) me or post in the discussion thread.
#7. When I introduce combat I will ask everyone to roll initiative. After I establish who goes in what order a stricter set of rules will be in place.
#8. When in combat/rounds only post when it is your turn, this will help me read through the thread easier and analyze what is going on.
#9. Please be patient in combat I have found that my character misses out on commenting during battle about things that have just happened when there are multiple posts.
#10. Please talk in character in bold type format.
#11. Please use italics to show what your character is thinking.
#12. Have fun!

The next post in this thread will start the campaign. So please do not post yet. Please post as your characters only from this point on. Please post in the discussion thread also as your characters. It makes it easier to know who is asking questions. Thanks everyone and lets have fun!

Alright this page is going to start out as character creation and pbp rules. We will begin with character creation. This page is just for our homegroup. Please do not post in this group discussion if you do not know us. Thank You.

Character Creation:
All classes and races in the Pathfinder Core Rule book (CRB), the Advanced Player's Guide (APG), Ultimate Combat (UC) and Ultimate Magic (UM) are available.

All rules apply for making characters from these books.

Character stat rolling: (Please use the dice roller available here on the site, you can do this by looking at the format text below and can be done by typing [.d.i.c.e.].1d20.[./.d.i.c.e.] I put periods in so it wouldn't actually come up.) Player's will roll 4d6 and then drop the lowest one, repeating this six times. For example: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 2) = 14 So this stat would end up being 12

Please roll these stats in one post by repeating the dice format six times in the post.

I would like everyone if possible to also list your character and stats under the alias option in "My Account". Please see mine under Gozer "Bone Splitter" as an example.

That should do it for the character section. If you have any questions about creation please post them here after we start.

Alright this page is going to start out as character creation and pbp rules. Please do not post here until I tell you. We will begin with character creation.

Character Creation:
All characters will be made out of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook (PFCRB).

All classes and races in the PFCRB are available.

All rules apply for making characters from the PFCRB.

Character stat rolling: (Please use the dice roller available here on the site, you can do this by looking at the format text below and can be done by typing [.d.i.c.e.].1d20.[./.d.i.c.e.] I put periods in so it wouldn't actually come up.) Please roll these stats in one post by repeating the dice format six times in the post.

I will be using a modifiable .pdf to keep track of your characters. I would like everyone if possible to also list your character and stats under the alias option in "My Account". Please see mine under Gozer "Bone Splitter" as an example.

That should do it for the character section. If you have any questions about creation please post them here after we start.

I have been role playing for over 12 years. I am new to GMing in pbp sessions and have not had a lot of practice GMing many games. I am looking at starting a pbp with other beginners of pbp. It will be slow starting and playing, at least at first. I will be using D&D modules but using the PFCRB. If you are interested please post in this section. I am looking for a group of at least four but no more than six PC's. I may have a few player' already. But I am not sure yet. But as long as you're new or have only played a few times (on pbp) I will take the first posts in the order they appear. Thanks!
