Thanks Wolf! When I get to that point I'll certain ping the group as this was one of the funnest games I've been in and Shorga was probably my favorite character mechanically.

Shorga is going to have to sit out, at least for now. I'm wanting to watch how many games I get into and not shortchange any of those which I do join. I feel like I need to rein myself in slightly, sorry guys. I fully intend to lurk though!

Shorga readies himself and Ursa to set off in search of whatever adventure awaits them on this island. He's carefully to brush Ursa, despite the horses miraculous ability to stay clean, the ritual is important to him.

Shorga chimes in with some helpful advice, "I've found that if you jusht tug and pull the garmentsh hard enough, the piecshesh which aren't shupposhed to be there jusht fall off." He eyes the clothes from several feet away, 'Maybe something for Ursa?' he thinks to himself, eyes critically from several items to his trusty mount.

Ha! I'll be sure to let him know how you feel when I talk to him next.

Shorga, when they return, immediately calls Ishirou over to them, but lets one of the others who actually found the loot reveal it. "I think you will like thish my friend." he says with a grin.

If it's not a done deal, Ursa could still pull the chest, assuming it's not bigger than a person, through the underwater tunnel and then up the shaft.

Wren, as if suddenly hit by an realization, sits upright. She looks at Shorga, then Ursa, then Shorga again.

"Welcome back, Shorga...I had thought the horse would speak before you did again. You dreamt of the horrors of babies and children, did you? Sounds terrible, as if they were orc children."

Shorga moves to cover Ursa's ears, looking concerned. He lowers his voice to speak quietly to his horse, "Don't worry Ursha, she just can't undershtand you. Yesh I know you shpeak very well. It'sh nothing to be upshet over." and rubs her neck affectionately.

Shorga quickly, perhaps too quickly, volunteers to carry the loot upon him and Ursa. He pats the horses neck proudly, "Richesht horshe in all the land. You even have your own island!" and guffah's loudly at his own jest. "Should be head back to the othersh? I think we've found quite a bit for today." his and Ursa laden with the wealth of treasure. Unless someone objects of course. :)

The half orc gives Travis a bemused look, eyes remembering the daydream for several moments, considering it from several angles, and finally nods with a faint smile coming to his tooth-filled lips. "Yesh, thank you, I do believe you're probably right."

"Remember when you used to talk, Shorga? You forgot how, huh, dearie? You've lost your wits on this island. Poor dearie. We'll get you fixed up soon enough."

Shorga shakes himself from another one of his near-constant episodes of daydreaming. "Wha-? Oh yesh, exshcushe me. I have been having the shame pervashive daydream... Shurrounded by three kidsh and one of them a howling baby." The half orc gives a slight shudder, "It ish but a daydream. Letsh tie the rope to Usha here, she ish much better at the lifting of heavy things than me." and proceeds to follow his own advice, tying the rope to Ursa's saddle in order to assist his friends ascend from the pit.

When they do all arrive back at the top of the , Shorga's eyes light up at the sight of so much treasure. "Ishirou will want to hear about thish I think."

Baby was born yesterday! Finally!

I haven't even been on Paizo since my last message, too much going on and wife needed lots of help and work on top of that was smothering. But now the baby is out! woohoo! Everything is smooth sailing from here on out! ;)

I got a week off of work now and plan on catching up and getting things rolling again right soon.

Fort vs Mindfire 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 Woot! This is the second fort save made in a row. I think I may be cured!

In case not cured... Fort vs Mindfire 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Shorga soaks in the training, as much as he's able, going over and over the instructions, and repeatedly getting socked in the face. By the time they've finished training he's got a black eye and is bleeding from one of his teeth, but the good feelings of learning and using his muscles remains. When the whooshing sound occurs, Shorga scans the skies, one hand reaching for his falchion propped next to him.

Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7

The next day Shorga spots the dead monkeys and calls it out to the others, "Shomething ish not right here. Watch your shtep." and slowly leads Ursa closer, scanning all around.

Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15

Shorga seems a little down that Sasha's attentions go to Alphonse, but he just shrugs unconcernedly. Sitting at the fire with the others he secretly wonders how skilled this woman can actually be, and comments on it, "I think we all want to better ourshelvesh, sho when do we shtart?" he asks, speaking somewhat more normally than he has in days.

Suggested exploration path up on the map. I've understood the entire group (PCs and NPCs) to be traveling together, carrying the camp with us, so proceeding under that assumption.

He could be telling the truth. I only made two episodes before throwing in the towel. It got oversold to me, was the reason it failed to impress. Plus its full of terrible human beings, and few good ones, which is also not my favorite thing. Worth a look though, bottom line.

Did that ressurect Shorga? ?!!!?

Shorga just looks down at Osmillar, grinning hugely, and continues to scale toward the nest.

Shorga realizes what being asked and starts removing armor, intent on getting to the nest as safely as possible. He does take out his rope and grappling hook, and after several attempts manages to tie them together. He looks around at the others, "More rope?" he asks simply, then starts climbing, intending to use the rope and grappling hook wherever possible. If someone else does produce a rope, he'll tie them all together, securing the rope around branches or large rocks on the way upwards.

Ursa watches him for a time, but then loses interest as he gets higher and starts munching on some grass.

Shorga climbs out the hole with the others, dusting himself off and overall pleased at how things went. He checks Ursa right away, but she seems fine, if a little dusty. He stands watch during the dark of night, eyes scanning for danger or interesting things. GM -Do I need another fort save here?

Yeah I like it as well. We can try the 7 way split for now, if it's not working we can adjust later.

Your Int is 7, Shorga, you're not a retard. Remember: The Village Idiot NPC is Int 4 and he still knows enough to do his job right. =)

Shorga smiles at the cascading sound of bones tumbling over his blade as the skeleton is destroyed. He turns his attention to the remaining foes, calling out to the others, "Undead are dying!" he says with obvious positivity and excellent powers of observation. Noticing the cunning Travis moving into a flanking position, Shorga takes advantage of it, bringing the falchion up, down, and the back up towards the zombie in a great sweeping motion, trying to cut the zombie in two from the bottom up.

Falchion Attack (flank) & Damage: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 72d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9

I wanted to step west to give Travis a chance to double flank... but I don't think the dumb Shorga would think of that--- on his own.

Shorga swings powerfully at the skeleton south of him (or sw if needed) trying to slice bones apart with his heavy falchion. He looks to move a few feet south to take the position of either skeleon if one falls.

Falchion Attack & Damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 202d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9

I may have completely missed the part about setting up camp. So now he wasn't riding and she's probably not in there. Silly dumb Shorga.

So... haven't heard yet what happened to Ursa as Shorga was riding when the hole opened up. Finally saw the map and noticed she's not in the hole.

--I assume Ursa is also in the hole then? Can anyone copy/paste a snapshot the Roll20 map to the combat map on the team site? It'd be much appreciated.

Shorga coughs to clear some dust from his throat and then notices the creatures all around them, "Lookout! It's the undead!" he shouts in a dazzling display of intellect. He draws his weapon and touches a hand to his horse, standing nearby, murmuring something in orcish. Ursa responds by tensing her body, and lashing out with her strong jaws to try and bite the nearest foe.

Shorga stands and draws weapon, and is out of actions. Ursa stands and attacks.

Fight w/mount DC10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 success

Ursa Attack & Damage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Shorga lets Ursa pick her path as they follow the beach westward, his face happy despite the blood-shot eyes and constant sweating from his pronounced forehead. The salty breeze from the ocean keeps him slightly cool, and just being out of his bed seems to have brightened his spirits immensely. He looks down at the others, walking along on their own two feet and pats Ursa is a gesture of friendship and gratitude, "You're the besht horshe on thish island Ursha. I meant it." He tries to keep his eyes peeled for anything shiny or interesting or dangerous, the strange birds from yesterday still remembered.

At one point he find himself near Wren, and he gives her a look, never having said much to the flighty woman. He decides to speak, "What'sh the feathersh for?" he asks blandly, words coming out a little slow.

I dislike being below average intelligence... And Shorga dislikes it too. ;)

FYI, I'm essentially out of the map responsibilities with no access to it for the majority of the day. So while I can start Shorga moving in the gameplay thread, I'm going to need to rely on y'all, my group-mates, for actual map interaction the majority of the time.

So not trying to absolve myself of responsibility, cause I would interact with it if I could. Just railing against the powers that be I guess. /rant.

Shorga nods and nudges Ursa, "Yesh, the coasht ish lovely." and they start following the coastline.

Amnur notices the preparations to leave and excitedly prepares Ursa, and mounts his steed. Then he remembers something he forgot and goes back to his untidy bedroll, grabbing up his falchion and sliding it home across his back. Hopping onto Ursa in a single vaulting leap he turns to the others, "Where shall we go?" he asks with open curiosity.

No map access at work, lets head somewhere exploratory! Someone plot the course please. :)

If it's the GM who has to create the momentum rather than reacting and playing off the player's suggestions, then the game is doubly doomed.

I believe this because I've seen it happen and I've felt it happen. I've seen Kingmaker (and other sandboxes) succeed and non-sandboxes fail.

This AP has a reputation of being sandboxy in parts, but I couldn't confirm that.

Of course, we'll see how we fare...if we have enough pushers to keep momentum.

Shorga answers Travis as articulately as he can, "Yesh. Yesh. Ursha ish Ursha." smiles happily as being so helpful. When breakfast is ready he heads over, accepting the offered grub happily, "Thanksh. Food ish good."

He's licking the last of his breakfast and eying the others portions when Alphonse suggests the days activities, and nods, "Exshploring ish good idea." and nods earnestly as everyone, not wanting anyone to feel left out.

------The next morning-------

Next Fort Save vs Mindfire: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Ok, I was at...7? yesterday I think. So now I'm at 8? Or still at 7 and didn't lose another Int during the night?

Shorga sits up in bed from the waist, stretching and reaching for the sky in the pale light of dawn. The beads of sweat are still there, and his eyes are still blurry and unfocused, but again he doesn't seem worse, or dumber at least.

He moves over to stand by the sleeping Travis, remembering the nice man from the boat. He stands over him, smiling without bothering to hide his lower canines -an oddity since he'd taken great pains to do so until the night he became sick. Once Travis stirs enough to notice him he just widens his smile larger and announces, "I do not like to be shtuck at camp. I help today."

Shorga gulps and wipes some of the dripping sweat from his brow, gripping his sword tightly. He's starting to feel angry towards these attacking beasts, "Go away birdies!" he yells, even as he gives Ursa a reassuring pat on the neck.
