Zaszy stares blankly for a moment at Temara. "Ze letters... your patriarch drew plants and creatures native to Deepmar, zis is true?" He does not wait for her to answer. "I would like to see zese letters." He indicates the dining area with one arm. GM Only:

Others will need to make an opposed Sense Motive to understand it. Temara and the cook's "son" are currently Zaszy's studied targets, which means he gets a +2 on this check vs them. For Temara, it made it easier for him to convey the message, and for the cook's "son" the DC is as shown here. I'm going to show the DC as 2 lower in the post, in case anyone else is watching. Obfuscate the truth
Sense Motive DC 27:
Zaszy's gesture is suggesting to Temara that they take their conversation someplace private. Sense Motive DC 55:
Zaszy's statements contain no lies. Sense Motive DC 60: Zaszy's statements contain no half-truths either.
I guess there's no harm seeing what my reroll would be. STR: 3d8 ⇒ (1, 5, 7) = 13
Hmm...tough decision. These are overall way better than my first roll, but I'd have to scrap the Druid I was working on because I got garbo WIS this time around... RealLifeCorn, would you allow me to give this roll to Tiny Tim? Both his rolls were subpar even for 3d6, and I kinda feel bad for him. And then I'd just stick with my original roll.

I got bored and made a version of the Skills and GM Screen - Skills sheets which are a bit more automated, primarily regarding the Trained-Only skills, because For clarity, using it will require the players to update the T column under their name with "Y" if that skill is trained; any other letter is treated as untrained, but I went ahead and put "N" so that it's extra clear which skills this notation matters on. I also went ahead and filled out the T columns to the best of my ability, so you ideally won't need to change things until we all level, and then only if you invest skill points into hitherto untrained skills. I'd appreciate if everyone would give the Test Skills sheet a once over (it's all the way to the right) and let me know if there's anything wrong or confusing about it.

Without warning, Gill jumps upon Luc from behind, worming her thick arm around his throat and grasping it with her other hand to give further leverage. "I'm sorry," she mutters, "but you're not going to want to be awake for this next bit." Once Luc has stopped struggling, she releases him. Rising to her feet once more, she turns to address everyone still here, her voice booming. "Excuse me, please. May I have your attention. I have reason to believe that there is a bomb inside of Monsieur Gardinier. I do not know how much longer we have before it goes off, but I am going to try and remove it. I urge anyone who can help to do so, while everyone else should probably leave." She pauses to address specific individuals, turning first out towards the crowd, spotting Verrill. "Monsieur Blightguard, it seems I will require a second opinion once more. I ask that you stay." She then turns to Jean-Christophe."Monseigneur Charpentier, I will likely need your assistance with this procedure as well. I ask that you stay." She then turns toward the bar, directing her gaze to Augustine. "Monsieur Langlais, I may also have a use for you. I ask that you stay." She returns to addressing the crowd as a whole. "Anyone else that thinks they can help with removing the bomb or turning it off, I invite to stay. Everyone else should probably seek shelter somewhere else." GM Only: Because lessons are for chumps.

Looks like I got Verrill for sure, and maybe Jean if his CHA is no higher than +1, but definitely didn't get Augustine, so here's to hoping he's very sympathetic to my cause and I get some kind of circumstance modifier. :P

I'll be playing an Inquisitor split between party face, skill monkey, and bandaid dispenser, that can serve as a melee striker in a pinch, like a Bard with less singing and more praying. It's not a particularly optimized build, but I think it patches the party's main weaknesses very ideally. Out of combat, I'll be focused primarily on mental-based skills, especially Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Knowledge, Perception, and Sense Motive, with some investment into a few select Dexterity-based skills later, particularly Stealth and Sleight of Hand. I'm also taking some pretty fun niche spells that I think will be quite useful in this campaign. In combat, I'll probably hover around Arruk and/or long-term summons to provide healing and supplemental damage as necessary. I don't have much by way of offensive casting, so I'll mostly be playing a supporting role in fights.

roll + ability + race Diplomacy: 1d20 - 3 + 2 ⇒ (14) - 3 + 2 = 13 Here's to hoping. GM Only: Gill gives Jean-Christophe instructions as a free action, uses a move action to travel 20ft from B5 to E7, requiring a DC 10 Acrobatics check.

During this movement, she draws a potion (mutagen), and then uses a standard action to drink it. This grants +4 Constitution and -2 Charisma for ten minutes. She then propositions Verrill for dangerous assistance as a free action.

GM: Whelp, Gill's broke. Hopefully nothing truly amazing comes up that I might otherwise have stood a chance winning. I'm sure it'll be fine. I got the mead, so mission accomplished.
As before, I think Gill will do the "fourth wave" on her own. I've given a bit of thought to how she's going to present. It's going to be fun. When we get to it, I'll consult you so that we can have fluid dialog as necessary.

When the bid for the "Special Bundle" begins, Gill once more offers the opening bid (at 100gp). GM:
Gill will counterbid to her maximum, which is 300gp.

Sense Motive (DC20):
While Gill seemed momentarily hesitant to bid on the item, you can tell that she does want it, and will likely bid higher. Sense Motive (DC25):
If you had to guess, her hesitation was about the contents of the bundle. She perked up at a specific item therein (the mead), but didn't seem at all interested in the rest of it. Regardless of any hesitation, Gill seems resolve to win this item, and will likely bid as high as her coinpurse allows. Sense Motive (DC30):
That said, from the way she's clutching that coinpurse, that's probably not much. From its size, the purse can't have more than 50 coins in it, and even if that's all platinum, that's only 500gp. GM (Auction): I'll have Gill present as the fourth wave. I'm sure her presentation will be ffffffffffffffffffffffffun.

GM (Previous Intersession): Gill offers a knowing smile. "The sewers remind me of home. I am a dwarf, after all. I'll be available for both clinics. I can't speak for my staff, but I imagine at least some of them will be willing. And, either way, I'll need more nurses and doctors to keep both clinics operating smoothly." She pauses, chewing at her lip for a moment as she considers the map of the sewers. "This location does seem most ideal," she says, tapping the location Verrill indicated previously. "I'll begin making the necessary arrangements."

GM: "First and foremost, I am a servant of the less fortunate. It is the purpose I have set for myself here in Roland. When I first heard of some kind of debilitating fungal disease, I was gravely concerned that it would quickly spiral into an outbreak across the whole city. Fungal spores are very durable, far more than miasma seems to be, and fungi produce them in droves. I steeled myself for a fight against what I believed to be a serious threat to the city.
"When I determined that it was not contagious, at least not in the traditional sense, I - oh, I just realized I had Mademoiselle Beauchene burn that carriage without cause! I apologize for that. But when I learned it was not going to spread out of control, I was relieved, but I still believed there to be a serious threat to the city, one that I was well equipped to combat. "At the same time, I did not want to cause a panic, so I had decided I would investigate further and confirm my suspicions before seeking outside help in dealing with i- uh...her. But then you mentioned that she could be redeemed." Gill pauses for a moment, fidgeting with her hand and breaking eye contact. "In my research, I'd been thinking of the fungal queens as one might think of a demon: as monsters without proper free will, evil to the core. If Priscilla is a free-thinking creature, one that can choose between good and evil, then there is a chance that she can be dissuaded from her less desirable pursuits. This could mean a renewable source of the cave moss I mentioned before, which would be a great boon to Roland. "Still, whether she can be convinced against what some would consider her nature or must be put down, in her current state, she represents a serious threat, and one such as myself would be of great use in handling this threat. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I had expected to seek your assistance in this matter eventually, once I had confirmed my suspicions, but I had expected to be more directly involved in its conclusion. It is thus that I implore you to allow me to assist in any way I can."
