"...Huh. Guess it's not that scary after all. Toorg, go get him!" Roosevelt lays his hand on Toorg's side and casts Mage Armor on him. Toorg, bolstered by Malthu's courage, lumbers in and swings at the ooze.
"Wait! it looks like there's a secret door in the back there though!" "Mate, you are more than welcome to try it. I'm gonna go the other way though."
Roosevelt detects magic on the objects.
Roosevelt sees nothing as he enters. Toorg apparently sees all of the cosmos unfolding in front of his eyes.
"Huh. Good thing there are 2 doses of solvent...I've been stuck to stuff before with that glue, and let me tell you. It isn't fun, especially when you're dangling out of a window by your...never mind." Roosevelt shoves the glue and solvent into his bag and then detects magic on the rest.
Sorry about the absence, work's been crazy lately-I work in an elementary school and the past few weeks have just been insane. I *think* stuff's slowing down for now though. Again, sorry guys.
"We're on the way, somebody seems to have planted a tree in the middle of the hallway here." Roosevelt chuckles to himself. "Get it? Cuz Toorg's a tree, but he usually walks around...oh, you get it." He steps to beside the door and turns to Malthu. "Seems like it's kinda cramped in there-go ahead of me, don't want you stuck behind yet another person."
Toorg screeches in pain as the trap clamps around his leg. Roosevelt facepalms at the treant. "Dude. What is it with you and bear traps? I swear, if I have to regrow you a third time because of a bear trap, I'm growing you as a floating puffball or something." He flicks more acid at the troll, happy that it actually seems to be helping this time.
Roosevelt takes a step to the side, and then another long step backwards. He hurls a glob of acid at the troll. "One acid, coming right up!"
"I have got to figure out how to cast more damaging stuff..."he mutters to himself. Meanwhile, Toorg roars in anger and charges after Daktani. Upon reaching him, he hauls off and punches at him.
Roosevelt defensively casts Color Spray at the troll. Sadly, he can't quite angle it to reach Daktani without hitting Toorg and Fenn as well. "Man, this room is really, REALLY claustrophobic...either of you gentlemen care to take it outside? Then we could get our dwarven friends involved too. Don't want to leave them out. Ever seen a sad dwarf? It's the worst. They get tears all up in their beards and it's just...kinda pathetic, really."
Toorg cocks his head and gives Daktani the ol' one-two.
Or at least the ol' two.
"Umm...if I might make a suggestion. Big guy. Definitely the big guy. Before he punches out all my blood, preferably."
Suddenly remembering that he can fly, Roosevelt drops down and flutters to the ground, landing next to Malthu as Toorg drops down on Malthu's other side. "I believe that's our cue, guys. What's up, Daktani?"
From the ladder, Roosevelt listens and frowns. "Uhh...guys? Think Malthu's got company down there. Toorg-over and down, bud. Give him some backup." Toorg looks at Roo for a moment, then swings nimbly off the ladder, climbing surprisingly nimbly down the wall.
Roosevelt snorts. "Does Toorg do ladders? Buddy, he climbs basically as fast as he runs. He was grown to go vertical.
"I agree with Fenn. Who's got darkvision here? They should definitely go first.
"Malthu, you sure you're okay? I know it's gotta be tough being in here...don't feel like you have to stay on our behalf."
Roosevelt grumbles to Toorg. "Man, survive a fight without getting knocked out and then you can shush me...I'm starting to agree with Cham about Dwarves. Rurik's kinda cool though, I suppose."
"Hmm...a cry for help coming from an unseen person within a creepy plague room. Sounds legit, right Malthu?" His eyes slightly bug out as Fenn enters. "Holy crap, this gnome's crazy."
Ooh, yeah-I think I can hang on to those scrolls. Thanks, Fenn!"
A respectful distance. He may be a tree but he's not stupid.
"Does anyone else feel like...I dunno, stronger or anything? Anyone? Just me? Maybe my mom? Toorg, how're you feeling, bud?" Toorg doesn't respond-he's sitting by the hole, whimpering softly. One could assume that he's just mad that the spider got away, but there's something else there too...maybe the sadness of the loss of a new friend as well.
Toorg tries once again to escape his bonds.
Roosevelt throws more acid!
Toorg roars in animalistic fury as his nemesis covers him in goop. He tugs at his bonds, trying to escape.
Alas, spider string proves too strong for the mighty treant. He whimpers slightly, his beady eyes focused sadly on the young spider-it's so close, yet so far away. Roosevelt throws another acid orb at his spider-his back is turned to Toorg, and he really can't turn around right now to see what's wrong. "Toorg? Is Rurik down again, buddy? Just hold on, we're taking care of this guy and we'll be right with you."
"My mom used to have a pretty decent recipe for a pie that used beetles, but I'm sure spiders would be just as good." Roosevelt launches another acid orb-he's getting into the rhythm of things, although he does wish he had a better offensive spell that could actually hurt these things.
Meanwhile, Toorg cocks his head at the remaining young spider. Nobody had ever stood against his punches for so long, and it's confusing Toorg greatly-why is this small thing not dead yet? He swings wildly at his new archenemy.
Roosevelt lobs another acid orb.
"Mmm, soup sounds good. I'm sure acid won't harm the taste too much, right Fenn?" Meanwhile, Toorg, enraged at the fact that someone made him bleed his own blood, turns his attention to the young spider.
Toorg keeps on pounding.
Roosevelt takes out his handy dandy acid flask and hurls an orb of acid at his spider.
Roosevelt wheels around and blasts the spider by Rormar with a Color Spray. Toorg does what he does best when confronted with something big and scary-he smashes.
"Skreed...doesn't ring a bell to me either. Toorg? Anything?" Surprisingly, the tree doesn't answer.
Roosevelt casts Daze on the remaining centipede. "Holy crap, Malthu-saved my butt there!"
"Oh, s@~@!" Roosevelt yells in pain.
Roosevelt and Toorg enter gingerly. "Rurik, you okay there? You're just kind of looking at a rock really, really intensely." Roosevelt tries to listen for anything around, but gets caught up on the same rock that Rurik was looking at. Maybe he had a point. It's a very pretty rock. Is that a fleck of quartz in it?
"Huh. Now, this isn't the sort of plague that can remain dormant in a system for ages and then suddenly it turns out you've spread it to half the country, right? I've got-I mean, TOORG has a pretty crappy immune system, wouldn't want him to get sick or anything."
"Erm, Malthu...think you mean Rormar. If Rodrik was back on his feet, we'd be kinda out of a job..."
Roosevelt starts giggling wildly at Fenn's first joke, which continues quietly throughout the rest of his statement. "Oh man, if you're half as good in a fight as you are funny, we're in for a great time. Welcome aboard, mate. And yeah, it's very spooky and sinister. We're all taking it very seriously." He manages to keep a straight face for a few seconds before starting to laugh again. "Shady. Classic Fennrick..."
"Well well, what do we have here? New gnome in town, eh? Nobody tell Cham, she'll be all over him in a heartbeat." He saunters up to Tyari and the gnome. "Painting, huh? If it's anything like the stuff that's been popping up around town, he'll need a lot more than elbow grease to get it off. That stuff is stupidly resistant, even to magic." He turns to the gnome. "Haven't seen you around here before-I'm Roosevelt Foster. Arborist, master of magic and future baker extraordinaire. What brings you to our little neck of Golarion? Just passing through? I was just passing through originally, decided to stay a while. That was like...years ago, I think? Not sure, still haven't gotten the hang of this whole 'linear time' thing you've got going on in the Material Plane. Were you traveling alone? Or did you have a group of gnomes? Oh, man-where are they? We got any more gnomes around here? Love you guys, always a good time when you've got a gnome around. This one time I was at a party at this gnome household, the absolute madmen decided to try and summon a demon and I swear to the gods, they somehow managed to coax Socothbenoth himself into the house. No idea how we got ourselves out of that one, but let me tell you-craziest night of my life. From what I remember. Of course, most of the girls and some of the guys there eventually gave birth to demon babies later, but hey. That's life for ya. It's like a box of chocolates-sometimes you get a truffle, sometimes it's a baby with two heads that breathes fire and poops acid. Never know what you're gonna get." He smiles broadly.
"Depends, you gonna stop being mean to your customers just because you haven't hit your growth spurt yet?" He chuckles ruefully. "Nah, probably not." Roosevelt then tries to cast Prestidigitation on the wall.
"Way ahead of youuuuuuu..." Roosevelt calls from the top of the stairs.
"Is it red? That's not paint, bud." Roosevelt gives a jolly wink at the patron and flies upstairs to find Cham.
"Huh, you're right. What happened to Jo?" He flags down a customer. "Hey, where's Cham? She okay? Just wanted to check up on her. And see if she needs help getting rid of a few corpses."

You read my mind, Malthu! I was just about to do that, haha. I'm the sorcerer in the game, looking forward to playing with whoever we choose!
"Hoo boy, troll in the Plaguehouse. Sounds like fun. What's a troll, by the way?"
I agree, we definitely need some sort of skill monkey. Other than that, pretty much any class with 4 or more skill points per level would be fine-we really are a fairly balanced party as it is, we shouldn't have a problem slotting someone else in, no matter what they do.
Roosevelt gets his beauty sleep. It doesn't help much, but at least he can cast spells in the morning again.
"Maybe I can do some airborne recon, fly around the perimeter of the town to see if I can find any evidence of tunneling."
"Did you have anyone you were supposed to meet on the inside of the city? I don't see many of the guards allowing an orc in here, she either snuck in or someone left a door open. Where did you meet her?"
"Well, I suppose it means we're getting close if someone's scared enough to try and kill us all. Malthu, how're you doing? We had a close call back at the Ramblehouse, but we took care of it easily enough."
"Sounds good to me, thanks!"
