Male Dwarf Druid2
Rogar grins and charges headstrong towards the owlbear taking up front, he holds his enchanted Cudgel high as it swoops down upon his foe. Rogar will charge the owlbear moving to O11 in his charge. Perception(To try and discern the location of the second owlbear.):1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 15 So much for that great damage roll :(

"I be doubting there will be more then two of them beasts, tend to travel in pairs. Nevertheless even one is a worthy adversary, they have the keenest of eyes so a stealthy route is not in our favor, never actually had to fight one of the things afore but I know they can be deadly in melee combat, just don't let one grab ye or you'll never be getting free." Survival (TO look for tracks potential dens of owlbear etc):1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 I do realize I just said all this without making a nature check but I take it my 21 was enough to tell this much about them.
Male Dwarf Druid2
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Rogar quickly makes his way to the front of the group, after hearing the sound it takes him a moment to discern it's origin...Owlbear's!... "There be no doubt that is the call of an Owlbear, ge the children to safety these things can be deadly know for killing all in it's path and I be thinking we will experience more then one." Rogar draws his club and redies an action to cast Shillegah at first sight of the beasties. "They cany be reasoned with, so expect a fight."
Male Dwarf Druid2
"Don worry we'll be find I lived in one dem forests for years I did...anyway no point in standing around, times a wasting." Rogar says to all of the Caravan and his allies as he takes position near the front of the group to keep an eye out for tracks. Know Nature (for Knowledge of the forest):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Male Dwarf Druid2
Rogar looks extremely uncomfortable though already aware he will have to take two paths in life, but the idea of his companions and everyone suffering because of it perhaps he should share his secrets but not yet a better time perhaps he thinks to himself. He says in an uncomfortable voice as nicely as he can. "I thank you for the reading on behalf of us all, Gran." He gives a slight bow before exiting the room "old evils endanger the present" could that be...no, it something else it...must be.
Male Dwarf Druid2
Rogar spends much of the evening outdoors to get a breather and consult "with the earth". (He believes when he released Jasons spirit back into the earth it made a spiritual bond with him, so he often talks to himself as if he speaks to his mentor.) Rogar trys to avoid any story telling of his own but does share his wide knowledge of the world just not his reasoning behind travel or his life story. When offered a Harrow reading, Rogar eagerly excepts. He has never had such a thing before but he is open to try it out, and if her powers are true it could tell him a useful thing or two. @Soth: "Forest wardens ey." Rogar chuckles at the name. "It is true that my kind are rarely seen on this path, but I am not like your average dwarf in fact I am very different, very different indeed. My life is a burden, I hold the burden for all my clan to live a life I never knew...do you know how hard that is..." Rogar stops and appears almost on the verge of tears. "...I..am sorry Soth just forget what I said." Rogar stands awkwardly a moment before making for his room he calls back to Soth. "Perhaps tomorrow me can continue our little talk." Come the morning Rogar seems much better and refreshed he stays mostly silent the next few days except for a short dialogue with Soth. "Goblins would not run headstrong into battle with no hope on their own will even if they were trying to protect one of their so-called kings they are cowards and not overly smart at that, but these goblins they seem as if they are not against their will that they die in battle nor would they be able to organize themselves so well, there is vile work at play here." Rogar takes rear guard of the Caravan though he is quite certain it is unnecessary as all would here the group of wild goblins approach should they strike.
Male Dwarf Druid2
"...or is that kobolds never remember which is which."Rogar rants on before coming to his senses. "If these are goblins we are dealing with they will probably have some of those....dog things with them look more like bald rats than dogs foul beasts they be. So if we have our plan I need me some food and rest." Rogar gets really grumpy if he's sleepy :) When preparing spells for next day will replace cure light with calm animals in case of dogs.
Male Dwarf Druid2
"Set trap to goblins? Last I checked they were the ones trapping me...not a very pleasant story. Perhaps I have come upon goblins many times in my travel and not all are the evil monstrosity's people look them at. Give me a moment of thought perhaps my old brain can remember a hing or two." He is lost in thought mumbling to himself several idea that are brewing. "Aw now I remember they have a strange awe for magic even the most mundane the look upon it in fear but at the same time they look and respect it strange it is, hmm no that doesn't get us anywhere." Once again he is lost in a trail of thoughts. For knowledge on Goblins:
Male Dwarf Druid2
"Sounds like these goblins have themselves a new ringleader, but based on what you say it would seem they would try their luck against just about anything that heads up the road. Strange though goblins are usually cowards they would not charge headstrong into a fight with no success they would flee and set up traps and do more devious...goblin things. The more I learn I become more and more curious." Rogar blabs on about his thoughts out loud before coming too. "Zandu do you know when these problems arose and perhaps where they are coming from."
Male Dwarf Druid2
Sorry really hectic schedule and sick as a dog not a good combo :( Rogar stays quiet, very quiet he is not one to converse much especially in the faces of those he does not know or in crowds. He listens to everyone conversation and ponders his own point of view on their situation he whispers to everyone one short line. "Traveling in larger group would make us all safer but wouldn't our larger numbers scare off the goblins? Perhaps offsetting our plans.
Male Dwarf Druid2
"Like the guards in this slum of a town will be of any help. We should consider a council with the mayor or...whoever functions as mayor of this place" Rogar pauses for a second considering his words. "Now that I think about it perhaps we should avoid the "mayor". We can probably learn what we need on the streets"
Male Dwarf Druid2
"Goblins tend to use more devious tactics in their raiding and that is not even common among there kind, the raids are nothing new but now it appears as if under...new management." Knowledge nature:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 I would assume this is the appropriate skill for knowledge of goblin tactics or ways.
Male Dwarf Druid2
"While you were "causing havoc" I was at the Library collecting some information of our coming destination, I also heard a rather startling rumor." Rogar then pauses to add some dramatic effect. "Rumor has it an organized group of goblins has been ambushing those who pass up the road to the Cauldron, witch may prove to be a slight problem for our trek."
Male Dwarf Druid2
Rogar finishes scanning through the last dusty tome and gets back to the the real world and remembers he was going to meet with his allies at the inn at about this time. He thanks the Owner on his way out and makes his way back to Inn. Upon entry he scans the room for his friends and silently seats himself and finally says "Good to see that no ones missing any limbs. So what did I miss?" If asked if he needs anything he will politely decline he has a hate for inn food.
Male Dwarf Druid2
Rogar is now happy not to be in the tavern :) While in the library having a great time with no violence whatsoever. he will look for any information regarding the Cauldron. Knowledge history:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Due to the fact I have a lot of time and am in a Library couldnt I take 20 on these knowledge checks?

Once Rogar sees what is going on in the giant crowd but when he can see the sight of gambling a grim expression crosses his face I don't like this place not one bit.. he tries to ignore the things around him and head for the tavern as quickly as possible How can Geoff see this as "fun" he thinks to himself but shrugs off the thought and finds a seat by his companions.
Male Dwarf Druid2
Am not planning on medic. Rogar has came to Varisia in search of his homeland and the man Kazmuk Dankil just read my character background to find out why and such. He travels for allies and knowledge and is not extremely interested in money but more so fame. Rogar is versatile in roles can conjure magic weapons to melee summon allies heal etc. may lean him more towards fighter latter on may even multi with fighter.
Male Dwarf Druid2
"I will be out and about the city a moment something I need to get done will meetcha back at the tavern don't be leaving without me you hear. Now if you'll excuse me a moment." Rogar walks out into the city seeming to aimlessly wander until he disappears from sight within the bustling city. DM: I will ask about the city but not stray to far for I don't know the place to well and ask about Kazmuk after I have gathered all the information I can I will then head to the golden Goblin and meet up with the rest.
Male Dwarf Druid2
"Perhaps a break at a local tavern Though I do not take to drinking myself it is a break from traveling and we could get to know each other a little better. There are some...matters that I must see to anyway." Says Rogar quite uncertainly. DM: Matters being that he would like to ask around town as to the whereabouts or fate of Kazmuk not sure if I need to roll anything or not for when he does ask about.
Male Dwarf Druid2
"Riddleport just as Tremas had described it" Rogar quietly mumbles to himself as the sight of the harbor comes into view. "Be grateful our ride was as safe as it was a ship like this is normally swarmed by raiders on these waters" he continues "Was a pleasure to make your acquaintance Captain and I thank you sincerely for our ride." He bows and then turns to his companions "It is best if we do not tarry here for long, From what I...know it is not the nicest of places to stay, Best if we make for the Cauldron and spend little time here" He once again turns to the Captain and thanks him for the ride before turning back to his companions "Shall we be off?" Rogar is a fairly Tall dwarf and is quite sturdy and strong like most dwarves but has a personality unlike any to those who meet and know him well it is easy to tell he was not raised by dwarves by his unique personality and way and looking at things.
Male Dwarf Druid2
Rogar would probably not have known anyone prior to the adventure he may have met them but he does not make friends easy and makes most actions for his own benefit. Though he can be friendly you must befriend him first which most people do not. Rogar goes by a false last name to hide his heritage I have yet to come up with what it is Suggestions? |
