Heck, in Golarion canon (1 n, not 2) you don't even have to worship a deity to get spells as proven by Salim in Death's Heretic and Redemption Engine. He outright insults her and he still casts spells.

Is there any chance we'll be finishing today? :) I'm not trying to push or anything, but I know we aren't supposed to play characters in other scenarios that are currently being played in a pbp or a multi-session module, and I have a chance to play in RL today and wondered if I'd be able to play Robert or not. If not, I've got others, but it'd be nice to take him for a spin too. :)

Taa, any chance you moved to Mid-Michigan area? ;)

Giving one last look at his pocketwatch, he puts it away and nods in satisfaction. "Well done everyone. I think we found everything we came for and more. Let's wrap up hear and head back, shall we?" He reaches down and pulls the card out from under the chair his double had been sitting in and pockets it like the rest have.

Pssst:
Permanent bonuses from equipment, feats, racial

bonuses, and traits affect your Day Job check as they would
any check for the rolled skill, but temporary bonuses
such as those granted by spell effects, other than crafter’s
fortune, do not contribute, as the duration over which
the Day Job check is made is undefined and represents
a longer amount of time than a spell’s duration would
permit the bonus to remain. You may take 10 on a Day Job
check,
but you may not take 20 nor can you aid another.

Of course, its almost always better to roll because of how the amount increases rapidly.

Unfortunately, I believe that as long as its RAW we can't as individual GMs change/disallow it even if we know it isn't right RAI. We can ask the player that since it seems an obvious abuse of the rules to tone it down/not use it, but we can't outright ban/change it at our tables.

Just like the Mysterious Stranger/Pistolero guntraining loophole that existed for so long. It was technically legal RAW, but anyone with common sense knew it shouldn't be. If something is really badly screwed up RAW, make sure the VOs/Mike/John are informed about it. We do point them out and changes have been made because of it.

Ok, after taking some time and looking things over again, I think I have it.

"Hmmm... I just noticed something... The engravings... Three of them seem to have a number or position in them. 'I must FIRST learn', 'never told TWICE', and 'In the End'. The other just has the same word three times, which would make them first, twice, three, and end." He looks around at the others, "Any objections if I put my guesses in that order?"

Since others haven't posted any other help, I'll assume not and go ahead and put them in that order. So, scroll lion, crouching lion, straining lion, and flag lion

Once Vassago informs them of the phrase Robert writes it with the others. "Ok here's what I've got... Any thoughts, think any should be different? Also, we'll have to figure out an order. Was the caretaker's portrait on the north wall Vassago? If so, I'm thinking in order from north to west?"

Lion Scroll - dour portrait is affixed to the south wall "To serve Taldor, I must first learn the history of Taldor"
Straining Lion - hangs to the east, surveying everything in the room with magisterial authority "Persevere, persevere, persevere!"
Crouching Lion - West hangs a portrait wearing an especially smug grin "A cunning lie is never told twice"
Flag Lion - a stoic portrait (north? it didn't mention direction) "In the end, loyalty is its own reward."
.
Crouches as if preparing to ambush it's prey
Roaring as it leaps at prey
Wears a yoke that is chained to a large block that the lion strains to pull
Wears a tiny pair of spectacles and reads from an ornate scroll
Draped in the flag of Taldor
Sits erect and wears a crown.

Come up with an excuse to bother her again?"

Checking his watch, Robert replies to Kyrie's query. "We've got just less than 45 minutes remaining." After Kyrie found the card catalog, he smirks behind his balaclava. "See, I knew there should have been a card catalog..."

He quickly writes down the positions and descriptions of the four portraits of the prince.

So, thoughts?

each weekly or daily check.

He has the skill to make it at a DC 30, which would be 30x32=960 per week, swift alchemy would make it 1920 per week or 137.14 sp worth/day Which means it takes him 1.82 days to make one flask of Ghast Retch.

Dark Archive 4/5 **

Actually, if he's got the Master Alchemist feat, he's not calculating something right... And checking the character out, he doesn't. So now his math looks right. (I made a nifty spread sheet that calculates down to how many minutes an item takes to make depending on your bonuses/feats/abilities.

Some good advice here. I'll also add/expand on some, it is usually a helpful bit of advice to have players start new characters when their character hits the level of the pregens. So when their characters hit level 4, suggest they start new ones before going any higher. By doing this, eventually they'll have characters for every tier and will be able to play high or low depending on who shows up/what tier is being run.

Players can also play higher level pregens and apply the credit to first level characters as well. The rules for it are in the Guide. They basically get access to the items of the sub-tier they played, but their gold gets set to 500. This would allow them to 1) try out different pregens to get a feel for them if they are new to the game 2) play with the "big boys" 3) still be leveling a first level character.

Dark Archive 4/5 **

Masterwork items, +1 weapons/armor and first level scrolls are always available and will never show up on a chronicle. So besides those and the art items, everything else is on the chronicle sheet. High tier has the ring of sustenance and handy haversack, while the low tier has the ring of protection.

Also...

Y'know, considering this is a GM reward Chronicle sheet, I'm okay with someone using an otherwise unavailable Day Job opportunity from GM credit to check a box. I imagine many folks will apply this boon to a character that they intend to play far more often than not, but if a GM wants to get credit by GMing, more power to her.

Confident that there's nothing dangerous, Robert is a little annoyed that the Tengu thought he needed help, but instead of speaking his mind he just gritted his teeth, causing a slight screech of metal on metal to sound from beneath his balaclava.
